  1. Got this too, but totally appreciate there are bugs with higher priority Thanks Aarik (and the whole QA team) for the great job you're doing fixing bugs and being responsive over here!
  2. You could pull that off if going for a pure melee Wizard, though. You'd only need a few spells to set yourself up as a melee character; just start the fight with DAOM to counter the recovery penalty from your heavy armor, summon a weapon, use one of the fancy spells that increase your stats and disable spell-casting, and go into the fray.
  3. *Cough* *cough* I see no Priest there... ROTFLMAYONNAISE
  4. With the Lady of Pain I got to 40 Slash/Pierce DR and she's a Fighter, so it's not just the Monk. If you start piling up DR bonuses, you can get pretty darn high. The key here is that DR can never reduce inbound damage to 0. Minimum damage (equal to, if I'm not mistaken, 20% of the total) will always go through. Maximizing your DR only ensures that the vast majority of incoming blows deals minimum damage—which is great, but won't save your life if you're taking a prolonged beating. I'd rather Torment-Reach everyone within sight or Flagellant-Path the entire battle field if I had 10 wounds to spend. Or, you know, summon a pair of kick-ass twins
  5. You need to get rid of the Frightened (or is it Terrified? Can never recall which one of the two the dragons cause) affliction from the dragon's Fear Aura. Use a Scroll of Protection Against Fear (or the namesake 1st-level Priest spell if you have a Priest in your party) at the beginning of the fight, and Suppress Affliction (2nd-level Priest spell, or from a Ring of Unshackling) if any of your characters are hit by the aura before the protection spell goes through. If you have a Priest in your party, generously drop Crowns for the Faithful, Devotions for the Faithful, and Champion's Boon on your party. Dire Blessing won't hurt afterward. Scroll of Valor and Scroll of Defense are your friends; use them like your life depended on it. I also advise shielding up one of your party members (the one with the best defenses), and send them in alone leaning against the leftmost rock wall. They'll eat up the dragon's breath while the rest of your party buffs before diving in. Make sure you keep an eye on the loner and have them sip potions of Major Endurance now and again to keep them alive.
  6. Someone should mod in a module where you help the two court each other XD IIRC, there was something like that in a Planescape module where you helped a tanar'ri court a celestial or something.
  7. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/84542-30-sabra-marie-calcul-bug/?hl=%2Bsabra+%2Bmarie Was kind of hoping it would be fixed in 3.02, but I guess they had their hands full already. Better luck in 3.03!
  8. Is this purely cosmetic, or is the penalty actually applying twice?
  9. I think she laughed in my face when I tried something similar. I just had to kill her after that--but not before killing her beloved dragons before her eyes
  10. Crucis, could you spoiler-tag post the dialog options you chose for avoiding the fight? I had 10 INT and at least 3 ranks (if not 4) in Honest and couldn't seemingly avoid the confrontation (not that I wouldn't have reloaded to kill the dragons )
  11. You can roll a Wizard and focus on self-buffs and summoned weapons (they are really powerful) or a Priest. Both can wear heavy armor, though getting high DPS from a Priest isn't easy.
  12. To say nothing of the numerous "still no fix for (insert bug here)" comments referencing stuff that was actually fixed but left out of the patch notes.
  13. I kept Raederic's Hold purposefully for that dagger. I sent in Edér alone (he was high-level enough to solo the frontal assault) and the dagger was unlocked before I got to Raederic himself.
  14. Or you could use the console to check them out, make a decision, and reload
  15. The problem with putting Deflection on DEX or PER is that RES would become useless, and the other stat would become too good unless you removed the bonus it already gives (and I think bonuses currently given are all fitting and good except the case in point, which isn't super fitting.) Perhaps swap Accuracy and Deflection across PER and RES? But honestly, would that make that much of a difference at this point?
  16. I could do exactly that with my armor in my current play through.
  17. Actually during the beta days there was an iteration of the beta in which PER gave +2 Accuracy per point. They changed it shortly thereafter because it was everyone's must-pump stat (+16 Accuracy from maxing out PER at character creation was massive), but instead of making a sensible change to +1 Accuracy, they changed it to +1 Deflection even though RES was already giving Deflection in the first place. This resulted in the (silly) system we had at launch, with two stats contributing to Deflection and none to Accuracy. Of course Deflection would stack (and enemies would have no Accuracy bonus from PER) so pure tanks were unbeatable. Add to that the poor A.I. that would make of tank and spank a winning strategy, and you get the need for a change. I've always considered Deflection on RES to be a matter of pure exclusion: Deflection had to be somewhere and all other stats were already doing something else (and fitting.) Not that I'm particularly bothered by it myself.
  18. Been like that since 3.0 (it was reported during the beta days); hopefully 3.02 fixes it.
  19. SAVED GAME: link OUTPUT LOG: link REPRO STEPS: Load the attached saved game. Look for trouble (plenty to go around where you are right now; all druids should be already hostile.) As you enter combat, activate Pallegina's Sacred Immolation ability. Observe that everytime Sacred Immolation hit, Pallegina's "friendly fire" bark triggers (i.e. she speaks her voiced lines that complain about friendly fire.) Kinda silly that she'd complain about being hit by her own ability, especially when you consider its effects on her are beneficial
  20. Speaking of magma blights (hence on a mildly related note), they don't seem to have a bestiary entry at all.
