Flagellants for.. atmosphere? Or Monks for repetition?
A rose, by any other name.... Just don't call them Darkspawn and I'll be alright with whatever they decide.

Arachnophobia, "no spiders", what should be important in P:E?
You are wrong, that thinking is bad... I talk about spiders as visual monsters. Many people afraid of them because it is strange, natural and " have it in their genes" (I sorry for my english). Example me, I play few games where are spider monster: IW2, Cabal Online (2 types), DOTA2 (brodmother), LOL (new champion). Why? Because they are not scary. But when I see creepy, Skyrim I prefer play this game without. So your phobia is more important than other people's phobia? Care to explain why?

Grimoire Speculation and Ideas
A talking grimoire would be cool if not overdone. Nothing worse than VO's turning from funny into annoying to the point you look for an option to shut it off. (looking at you League of Legends) I'd also like to see it as an item, and not a tab. I really liked this feature in Ultima Online, having spellbooks as actual items. They were also bound and would never be lost if you died, unless you dropped it or traded it while alive. But it allowed spellbook trading. So....In a single player game they would have to make special grimiores I believe to make it work.

You're making me leave? Then I want my cut of the treasure!
EXP...no Why would you lose experience from previous battles due to the present? The past stays in the past please, I don't want people reneging on my XP...I already learned! Here's what would be cool to me: They take their gear...but I don't know how the mechanics would work to prevent you from leaving them naked just before they leave. Maybe they shouldn't force it, and players who like extra realism can show some self control. I'd also like the ability to IMMEDIATELY attack them upon kicking them out of your party, and to loot everything they have when they perish, even a little hamster.

Please don't make character effectiveness overlu gear dependent
I think a game that got it right...before it all changed was Ultima Online. During the golden era (T2A) most weapons you found were worse than player crafted weapons. (As long as his smithing skill was suffcient) The strong weapons were very hard to come by as well. Most of the time everyone just ran around with grandmaster crafted weapons and gear. It made the environment pretty balanced and more focused on your player skill AND character skill than l337 l3wt

The Powergaming Problem
I think we can all agree that we want a balanced game. Some players may find a loophole/exploit, the only way to stop that is with good QA and patches. For a small budget game like this, I imagine the community will do a lot of QA.

Re: RPGs, audiences, publishers, mass markets and everything between earth and sky.
I really enjoyed Dragon Age. I thoroughly hated Dragon Age 2. The fact that you couldn't zoom out was a big warning sign I suppose....it still breaks my heart to think about it. Not all publishers ruin games/IP over time though. Rockstar has put out some great games. I still think red dead redemption is amazing.... LA Noire, man that was a ballsy move and it was alright, but I respect them for breaking the mold. Battlefield 3 would be awesome if consoles were stronger, I just can't play FPS with keyboard and mouse anymore. My glory days are passed me. Not sure what I'm trying to say though, just posting at work killing the last 10 minutes of the day.

Time Facebook
I only like numbers that are divisible by 20,000. So hopefully they will put in at least 20,000 levels if not 40,000. I blame it on 20,000 leagues under the sea...that book has ruined my budgeting skills.

Characters not in party gaining experience
I agree as well. It adds a layer of tactical decision making. Some may find it more annoying, I'd suggest making it an option to have them all gain.

Arachnophobia, "no spiders", what should be important in P:E?
Like in simant! When I realized I was controlling the spider...I thought surely this is a mistake. Those red ants didn't have a snowball's chance.

Should a Game restrict Us from Abusing it, or should We restrict Ourselves from Abusing it?
So basically your saying you don't want this game to force you to use annoying/tedious tactics to win. I agree with that.

The Powergaming Problem
What playing field? It's a single player game.

Arachnophobia, "no spiders", what should be important in P:E?
It's a slippery slope your headed towards OP. It sucks you suffer from arachnophobia, but what about people with: logophobia aurophobia rhabdophobia anglophobia Suddenly we have a game with no magic, no swords, no gold, and no words. In other words it's a game with....no fun.

Experience Inequality
It's an interesting train of thought. I think they should focus on keeping the options for completing a quest as a good fit for said quest. If your quest is to defeat a dragon or something less lame, their shouldn't be a way to pickpocket a victory. If the dragons in the world talk and what not, maybe you could talk him into leaving though, that would fit depending on the dragon. If dragons are complete **** and just eat everything, well talking shouldn't be an option to complete the quest. In my mind the XP reward has little to do with the decision to allow a certain type of quest completion.

Should a Game restrict Us from Abusing it, or should We restrict Ourselves from Abusing it?
I don't understand why there's no third group: Players who couldn't care less about other players gaming habits. Why should we punish players who want to abuse their game simply because others don't like it? If you don't like abusing games...then don't abuse them! Don't stop your little brother from using console commands and 200 save games. No one is forcing you to reload after your favorite companion was killed. If someone is abusing the game, please tell me how it affects YOU??? Because I can't wrap my head around it.

The Powergaming Problem
If people want to powergame...well let them. Why would you try to limit how a person can play your game?

Composer for Eternity?
I always dug the music in Fable...Elfman I believe. Doesn't seem like a good fit for PE though, too light-hearted.

No fetch quests
Fetch quests can be done well. Just don't have my party looking for turnips or something.

New Game +
There's really no reason to not allow importing leveled up characters. It doesn't hurt those who don't want to do it.

Monsters, eh?
Kobolds, dragons, giant spiders, trolls, ogres, beholders, imps, liches, skeletons, zombies, bats, wyrms, wyverns, krakens, sea serpents, orcs, demons, wisps, wights, hydras, giants, mammoths, and most importantly: The Esquilax
