  1. Yeah loot everithing is the option for us players. The other thing, is it could be cool to have the option to skin animals, with enogh skill, you gather the leather, and in some rage caces of quest raleted man eating wolf or bears some half digested gear or gold. but after trying to skin them. the food gathered there could be used to craft stuff in when you stop to rest and camp!
  2. Personaly, i want an ammo system, and a game that makes you want to only use ranged weapons at the start of the fight and switch to melee when you have some one in your face. I want arrows to be craftable on rest/camp and to be made from diferent material, and i dont want enchanted arrors because it creates a lot of work. Adding other properties to arrows like flame arrows, do we make them able to burn, how do i gather such arrows? do i craft them? do they consume on inpact or can the taken from the corpses. if i can craft enchated or special arrows, how costly will it be to craft something consumable? in the end i think it to much work, adding skills to add properties to the next arrow shot or the next few shots i feel its a good enough.
  3. Though I agree with what you are saying, being argumentative (or just a bastard ), I have to point out that starting gear for a normal warrior would more probably be a mace than a longsword, which cost a whole lot more expensive material and skill to make. Also no one knows the rules of the game, maybe Fighters/Warriors will not be able to chose weapon proficiency, so i could not matter what kind of weapon you have at the beginin. Or that proficiency is a skill you get much later in the game where your starting gear is not an isue. Also We dont know the story, so the seting for what could be spected the main character to have is not known.
  4. Im going to preset, Its the safest bet for a new Game with new mechanics where people are not familiar. Say what you want but with the gold or choice system in the first playtrough on a first time in a new game with a new engine and rules is diferent that the gold you got for the travel the 100th time you play Baldrus Gate.
  5. Personaly i want a Race system where you selct you race "look", and then you choose your linage to chose your bonuses. Istead of Having half people, A human with a elf mother , is just a human with some elf bonuses, But focusing on Humans, i personaly want Human subraces like in TES. Redguards are darkskined form Bla. Nords are Fairkskined from Ble. Imperials, Bretons, Etc. Diferent human form diferents parts should have diferent bonuses. Some resist hunger better, some can fight longer, some can learn spells easier, some have elemental resistences, etc. For example Elves always have sub races like Wood, Moon, Dark. Why not human? And with somethin like a Linage System you can mix and match bonuses and penalties.
  6. 1-What is your companion doing when not in the party?, Was he traning himself to the bone in his skills to be a better companion once you come back to pick him up? Was he doing nothing in a tabern? 2-In PE, once you have a full party the new companions are part of your party and tag along and the rest are in your hause or some place where heros gather? when you find a companion is of a set level or you find it at the same levels as you? For example, some times i realy hate games where autolevel you companion to your level (NWN2) but on the other hand if they dont match your level then why would you chose it if its to week, in old Baldurs gate and D&D rules where the potential of the companions was all about stats then finding a Edwin on level 1 and leveling him up was a good idea. but who knows how will PE work? personaly i dont like that ill have to grind to keep my not so used companion to be as strong as the rest. but thats just me.
  7. Personaly i want a well made game with a designed to be FUN and not encourage me to Exploit the flaws of the game play. As for rest i want to have rest in the game but i also want a mini game of sorts in the rest/Camp, for example. Resting cost resourses like food, bandages, and other stuff. at the start of the camp you chose shores for the comapanions like who will watch for enemies, who will go and gather resourses like food, wood, watter, who will heal who, who will try to repair the armor, etc. And the questing was Why people Used the Rest exploit because no one wanted to face a big chalege wil low health and the best way to heal yourself was rest untill you where healed there was not penality for it. so in a sistem when the first rest heals you to 100% then you dont need to rest spam as much. but its allbout testing the game, i pleged enoght to beta test the game! and i will hope they make a fun system where you dont feel encouraged to exploit.
  8. I personaly will want a New Game +. i love it in every game i play.
  9. All i know i want a more combat focused than the Cleric, and more Buff oriented that straight heal, and to be able to use Weapons like Swords, stafs, Shilds, ect. all the wu shu weapons.
  10. I feel like if there urgency in some places but not for the hole game! I dont mind having a sence of need to do stuff, but hard coded stuff like timers are bad idea. maybe in small quets to prevent the over use of a game ficture like "rest", example in a dungeon yuo need to finish it because of a quest in one day gametime, if you rest a standard rest consumes 6-8 hours, then having to rest ofter will consume the time and giving the quest not a failure per se but another outcome. for example you didnt reach in time time to help a companion so he died you compleated the quest but the bonus. But in the end having a "DOOM CLOCK" is never "FUN"!
  11. We all know once you enter the barrier of Dragon Ball, weapons armors and stuff like that dont work! Once a warrior can destroy human skulls with the power of his fist ala Hokuto no Ken having an amor is for Pussies! (with Russian accent, becuase its a common joke).
  12. but the piracy also comes with, how much money it cost buy the product over how, how easy is to acces games, etc. For example, for PC games, i mostly use Steam and some other download sites because its hard to find PC games in the stores the ones you find are Blizzard games. But lets say PS3 games, considering the shiping the taxes, etc a 60 bucks game cost avare 80, and with the exchange rates, the real value is around 10% of the salary of well payed office worker. plus how hard is to find the item you want. now lets say you have acces to piracy dowload producs its tempting to not spend a dime on something you get for free! here in latin america most gamers that buy games is because we suport the game, and developers.
  13. Going back to full parties, that most lickly what 90% of the player bace will use. we are not considering others factors, just because we can do a cobination of (5/8) giving 53 combinations is not the same the same as the feel of having viable options for your party. lets say the 8 companions are. 2 fighters 2 cleris 2 rogues 2 wizards. Considering how you want your party to be those 53 combinations but if you want in your party 2 wizards , you only have 1 option chose those two wizards. if you want one then ok you can chose 2 options. Despite the big number beeing 53 the real feal of i what flavor of ice cream i want, is rather disapointing. For example in BG2 when it comes to rogues, there where only a handfull, and you started with Yoshimo, Now if you wanted a second Rogue your options where rather limited. Same here.
  14. I know 8 is for my taste a low number for a party of 6 having leaves just 5 spases; there is little to no choise who will acompany me. So in any play trough 3 companions will not be able to tag alog, that some of them may be restricted for example is the PC kills some sone then X joins if not then Y joins. but as long as they are well done its all good.
  15. Yes the PC as the Leader of the Party should be the spokeperson, but the companions should be able to interrupt , add things to a conversation, etc. not every one can talk at the same time, and usualy the PC is he boss and the boss speaks for the team.
  16. Im in the only one what grew with fantacy setings filled with perfect people that showed skin. And For some reason at my 30s with my wife i keep liking it. Call it nostalgia, call it the 14 year old hordy kid sindrom I dont care, i want the game to have some chain mail bikini, and i want to have some real looking 17 century armor, i like the contrast of having the option to choose both. So I love those sexy and over sexualized woman armors. And considering a party of 6 Having more options will for diferent tastes will be good right. And as long as we can have some moding tools to change and edit the armors to change them to my taste then good for me! If not then to bad for me.
  17. Sorry this greatly breaks any kind of immersion and is just plain silly. Stamina lost during dodging the blow? So to dodge a blow from Hill Giant I spend 50 Stamina, and to dodge of of 5persecond attacks by mega-super-duelist (but he wields only rapier) I use 15 Stamina? Gods, let this never never never happen in this game. Please send a direct message to Obsidian's heads to not use this kind of system. Hey I don’t think it’s a bad system, the idea I was pitching for was a Stamina - Armor – HP and let me explain how I think it could work despite being counter intuitive or not. For the example let’s use the Giant, the duelist and 5 commoners and a warrior, mage, rogue. The basics of the system is you use Stamina for most actions in the game so fighting you will consume stamina to attack and defend depending on the defense and hit rating you will dodge/block or not. Now once you are not able to defend you will get hit and you armor will be damaged or health depending on the armor or weapon a giving blunt, pircing and slashing weapons different properties. Let’s start with Giant in the system He attacks he has low hit rating so it’s most likely to be able to defend the attacks but as a giant because of his strength it consumes good amount of stamina dodge. If you don’t kill it quick you will be out of stamina and with no stamina you will not be able to defend and you will be hit. By a giant and because he is a strong giant he will do crushing damage and will most likely kill you quick. A Duelist will have a better hit rating and you are able to defend most of the attacks but you get hit here and there always using the stamina for defending (trying to dodge). Most of the hits are landed on your armor and not many injuries. If you manage to beat him you had most of you stamina. 5 commoners will not have a high hit chance and will not consume too much stamina to defend but because the number of blows you are defending makes it so you run out of stamina some what quick, and once with no stamina they just hit you till you die. Now with pc classes example. A warrior with ok stamina and big armor and shield will not have a big defense rating but his armor will take most of the damage, but a hi stamina pool means he can defend slow things like giants and commoners but has a hard time defending duelists, and for dose he relies in his armor to survive. The Rogue has a high stamina and high defense rating so he will be able to dodge most attack from most people but if he gets his armor is low so once hit he will go down with out much trouble. The wizard has low stamina and low defense rating so they will not last much if attacked directly but with buff spells they can increase their ratings or armor, etc. but once they run out of spells they are as good as dead. So as you can see a system like this can work, it looks hard to implement, and of course the defending animation will be something not so complex like the dance of death of NWN. But the combat I'm thinking is short and sweet a couple of hits to the real HP and you are done! Now with stamina for the primary factor to not restive real damage you can use different skills to replenish it and keep fighting like a warrior second wind , or a rogue magic lotus potion or a cleric spell. But that’s just me.
  18. I want a Weight system, where you can carry as much stuff as you want but each level of encumbrance slows you down. In 4 categories: Light weight, no penalty, 0-40% max capacity Medium weight, small penalty 40-60% you move a little slower and for example if there is map travel it takes more time for your party to move to A to B. Heavy weight, Medium penalty 60-80% you move slower significantly and it takes more time to travel in map travel also it consumes more stamina to travel if there is a stamina system also stamina recharges slower. Over packed, high penalty 80-100%+ you are clearly over encumbered and you move as slow as heavy but you consume much more stamina traveling. If the game has a Stamina / Endurance system this could be awesome. You have to see what you are using and pack what you need no too much or less. Because if you carry to little maybe you will need something if you carry too much then you will not be able to sell the good loot you will gather in your adventures. With Bags and other tipe of containers to help the organization.
  19. Think of it as you character never gets hit, and the stamina lost "when hurt by a sword" is the stamina used dodging the blow. so basicaly it is like a HP but i spect it to be used for other stuff like attack, defend, Casting spells, etc.
  20. D&D leveling system is bad for a computer game because its made for table top game where you can say to the GM hey lets change thigs, Where the other players will interact with you and guide you. In a pc Game you cant have that. I want all kinds of customization, from the character creation as many as other top RPGs and MMOs in the last few years. And with classes i want a unrestrictive sistem where you work for a goal istead of once you level up you chose a price.
  21. Ieo, in this we agree mods is the best way to chage those little things about the game we love and turn it into our own game. If we are given moding tools, ill be a hapy moder!
  22. Perosonaly i dont like to play post game ending, i prefer to replay the game over and over gain, till an expantions comes along. Or a new Game+ to play at max level with a diferent game setings. Even in games like TES where you can play post ending of the main story i tend to start a new play trough with a diferent character.
  23. I completely agree with you - the idea of having sex scenes as a "reward" has always creeped me out. Just a gross sort of mentality there. I also wonder if people realize that very few real relationships work that way? The whole "not even kissing until saying you're in love" thing? "Well, we've been aggressively flirting for a while now and we haven't even kissed but I think it's time... I just can't hold back my feelings for you anymore, Player Character..." "I love you." "OH GOD I LOVE YOU TOO, LET'S DO IT RIGHT NOW" (FADE TO BLACK, ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED) Yeah its was funny! but come on, ¨we are fighting for our lives each day here lets have some fun tonight! ¨
  24. Once a week i want to be able to place my opinion on every little thing they do! also i kickstarted enoght to get into the beta to be able to help the proses! Once a week they can place some little info a consept art, the voice of a companion, a chapter of the novel. I think a team of 50+ people can make a once a week blog about the state of things!
  25. Yeah the game is not even out and we will be talking about the ending! I want to know what kind of ending and what kind of content in the ending you want? Personally some of Obsidians games had in my taste bad ending, that be for lack of time or what ever, the ending like NWN2 or Kotor2 where you beat the bad guy he place collapsed and we don’t know what happened, are unpolished and unispired. I want an epic ending and filled with info about every little thing I did in the game a la Fallout 2. I like that if the game has multiple endings some to be tragic endings, but if they have a standard ending then don’t make it tragic. An ending with a cliffhanger or tragic, tend to piss me off. For example ME3 unpatched ending was the worst ending ever in my taste, first all the decisions you made till that point fells inconsequential, second it was tragic Sheppard died, third the options given to you felt unispired and it felt that no mater what you do, int the end you screwed everyone and in top of that they didn’t give you the sweet vignettes about what happened to the world after the fact. So what about you? What game endings, movies, books you liked, what you didn’t, what info you would like to be displayed in the ending of the game, etc.
