  1. "Maoism is petit burgeois movement. Actually they play positive role in China, converting retarded feudal society into industrial, but they are not communists." Now now, that's not a nice thing to say. China was doing fine by trading alone, for thousands of years, until western powers came and f*ck everything up. Oh and WW2, thanks Japan. And look at their industrial revolution today, Beijing is practically a holy altar for Blade Runner fans, complete with smog and asian lady billboard. Not sure if it's a good thing.
  2. "Try to find analog of slavery and exploitation in Nature. Wild animals being captured often choice death instead of life in in captivity. Meanwhile for humanity such perverted existence considered as "normal" and "natural". This is obvious lie." That's why I use the term "dominating", the weak will be largely affected by the strong. The weak can be killed / enslaved / assimilated to join their packs / whatever. "Slavery" does exist in nature, take a look at dolphin sex slaves. Wolf travel in packs, which have alpha male to dominate them. It literally decides who goes in and out. Im pretty sure male lion does this too, with their personal harem. If true communism is about killing youself the second somebody overpowers you, well, I'm not sure what to think of that :I
  3. I dunno, communism sounds too weird to even work. I mean classless, stateless? Nature is about the strong dominating the weak. In modern world there's no murder involved of course, but you might find the strong as somebody who employs you and lead you under his company, working to a common goal. I can't really imagine a world without bosses or subordinates, that's just so surreal. Also, you can make everybody dress the same, eat the same food, etc. But in the end, there will always be physical difference, even in communist world, where men is physically stronger than women, how do you make this equal? They kinda tried this before in China, and it didn't work well leads to Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution disaster.
  4. Concept art for the Blood Woman is great! It even looks like my GF on her bloody period. Perfect!
  5. The passerby's reaction are understandable, this is what people call "bystander effect" Happens a lot in places like China and they usually got criticized for it. Turns out it doesn't look any different in the West either :| But man, beheaded? That's Norwegian black metal.
  6. Yes, I do. I don't see those as bad things either. It's part of human nature to be in conflict and conflict is what makes a story much more enjoyable. These conflicts could range from majority vs minority (race, sexual orientation, etc), A vs B (men vs women. country A vs country B, etc) If you accept wars and murders in your game, then there's no reason not to accept those
  7. OP has a point, we need more diverse dragons. I mean, most of the dragons we see in Western games are rather forgettable. I mean, can you tell the difference between Alduin, Paarthurnax, Dragon Age Dragons, etc without looking at the image? If there's anything I like from Japanese games, they actually design great monsters: Desert Lizard-like dragon: Snake-like Dragon: Plesiosaur-like dragon: These dragons are tad bit colorful, but that biologically makes sense because of their habitat (camouflage and stuffs) Anyway, more variety in shape and color would be nice, not just red/black/grey flying dragons.
  8. BioWare use a EA money for making Mass Effect... I must admit, news about Arcanum and Activision was an unpleasant surprise for me. It doesn't matter whether they use EA's money or not, they are an important branch of EA now. They are big, and have enough money to fund new IPs.
  9. You know there's a reason why Obsidian keep pitching Fallout New Vegas 2 and new Star Wars game? New IPs are very, very risky for both developers and publisher (Alpha Protocol). Even PE has to be developed with Kickstarter, since publishers won't fund CRPGs in 2010s I think, until Obsi is as big as Bioware, it's safer for them to use third-party IPs.
  10. Dr. Who games have already been made, and they've all been bad. To be done properly it must either be a puzzle game or an adventure game. Neither is Obsidian's forte. Also the character of The Doctor is sacrosanct, you couldn't let the player make choices for him. Why are you limiting the genre? The TV series actually have nothing to do with puzzles (it's not Dora, for sure), and yet they actually make a puzzle game for Dr. Who. I'm sure Obsi can make an RPG based on Whoniverse, action-adventure RPG like Alpha Protocol kinda suits Dr. Who vibe, with more timey wimey and nasty consequences. I'm not sure why you can't choose for The Doctor, he is often faced with terrible dilemmas with no right or wrong. Because of this, parallel universes, what-if scenarios are not unheard of in Whoniverse and its spin-off medias. I think fans will appreciate the chance to feel what it's like to be the Doctor, having to choose such terrible choices.
  11. Eh, there's one franchise with a very, very huge potential for Obsidian. Dr. Who Yes, the longest running sci fi program with huge loyal fanbase and surprisingly few games on their belt. Since Obsidian has lots of great writers, making the first full-fledged RPG for the series would cement Obsidian's involvement in their fanbase and would be beneficial for Obsidian in the long run. Besides, the Whoniverse looks fun to write, because anything goes there :D
  12. Your idea sounds too expensive to me, if New Vegas is Bethesda's flagship game, this sequel might work, but unfortunately it's not :| But I guess the sales speak for itself, who knows? Maybe Bethesda might label West Coast Fallouts as their flagship games too. By flagship, I meant receive the same insane amount of funding like Skyrim, Fallout 3, or Dishonored.
  13. I think it's because it's hard to make an interchangeable armor/cloth sets. For example: Red Helmet A fits Blue Armor B, but not green armor C. While green armor C fits only with blue greaves D and boots E. You can force to randomize a person's armor, but that might makes everybody dress funny or ugly. While making algorithm to determine the best match is costly too.
  14. I seriously doubt that, the Protheans, with resources spanning the ENTIRE galaxy, can only make a pair of prototype mass relay, The Conduit. Only a pair! a prototype pair, even. The Salarians, the so-called nerds of the galaxy, has used the relays for thousand years, and they haven't figured how it works, or else we would be seeing their prototype in game. The Asari, Turians, and Salarians combined can't figure it out either. Humans can't possibly know how it works after only 26 years using it :D, that's just too Mary Sue-y. Oh wait, this is Mass Effect.
  15. You can jump to Persona 3 and 4 directly, since they are pretty much unrelated to each other (aside from few cameos), and also unrelated to Persona 1 and 2. Persona 4 are the most WRPG friendly. At the very least, your choice do determine the ending and the relationship with your friends. It's grind-heavy, but not as much as the previous titles. Aside from that, I do enjoy the P3 and P4 characters, dialogues, and humors. Also, compared to P1 and P2, P3 and P4 has less supernatural elements and more realistic contents, like school, friend-making, fishing, etc.
  16. Other than the human-centric lore, the writers clearly have no sense of time. > 2157: Human made first contact with aliens > 2183: Udina become a council, the highest chain-of-command in Citadel, in 26 years :D The asari, salarians, and turians has governed citadel for thousand years, suddenly they give humans a seat in the council? A race that knows so little about galactic-scale politics, economy, diplomacy, resource management? I know human saved the day in ME1, but giving them a seat just for that? That's like, promoting a random soldier to a senator, just because that random soldier saved the other senators from terrorists. Promotions just don't work like that. Not to mention human are sure very fast to apply new technologies, like Mass Effect field, in 10 years. 30 years would be more believable, considering that they had help from Prothean's archive. For comparison, we still can't put nuclear fusion to good use (other than H-bomb), after 60 years of its formulation. ME series would be more believable if it takes place in 2325 or something
  17. Eternal Eternity. Rings a bell somehow Divine Divinity hahahahahaha :D
  18. SUPER DUPER AMAZING PRERENDERED WRPG THAT WILL TAKE YOU BACK TO 90s WITH AMAZING STORY AND GASP MEANINGFUL CHOICES: Revelations There are at least two candidates IMO: - Eternity (good enough, but too simple and broad) - The Road to Eternity (one of the released soundtrack's title)
  19. This topic is not a troll topic, IMO. You can see from "(joking)" word in the poll, which suggests that TC meant no harm. And the choices are well rounded. Anyway, Triple Whooper for me
  20. Lol, I just saw EC today. They butchered Harbinger even more. I mean, Harbinger just sat there like a good kid, blasting stuff in the background, ignoring Shepard in his/her tearful goodbye with his/her friends. You would think Shepard and co. would be higher priority targets after killing baby reapers, but eh.
  21. I'm bored, so I'll bite. ME2 overhyped the Collector's Base choice, so one might think this choice will be REALLY significant in ME3. Instead what we have is: - The color of the star behind TIM in ME3. - Minor EMS point differences (50 and 100), and by that time you wouldn't care about EMS anyway. - Some minor commentaries from NPCs, but the outcome is still the same. - Altered ending requirements (+200 if Collector Base is intact). But after EC, it's not that significant. That's it, so minor it's almost nothing, unless you can tell me otherwise. Heck, even Wrex's death has more significant consequences than that collector's base.
  22. I might come a little too late, but here's my problem with ME3: <spoiler> Inconsistencies: I don't mind minor inconsistencies, but if they're so jarring, well... 1. Reapers, from manipulative Lovecraftian horror in ME1 to dumb henchman in ME3. I mean, if they are so invulnerable, why do they left the Citadel alone until the endgame? No reason why! Look at the established facts: - They can overpower Turian military, the strongest in the galaxy alone. Also, Shepard can't win against them without the Crucible even after uniting the galaxy. - Citadel is a big "I WIN" button, capturing the Citadel will prevent Shepard from uniting the galaxy. Divide and conquer. - They attack the Citadel first in ALL previous cycles. Why they leave this one alone in this cycle is a mystery. Remember, Shepard only close their shortcut in ME1. No reason why Citadel is no longer their first priority target. 2. Starkid Starkid is the Citadel itself. His purpose is to continue the cycle. He is the leader of the Reapers. So why didn't he activate Reaper's shortcut himself in ME1? Why did he need Harbinger's help? He IS the Citadel, why wouldn't he have full control of Citadel? Why can't he undo the changes Shepard make in ME1 and summon the Reapers in ME2? No good reason why not! Choices All of your choices boils down to point differences. I understand that making unique scenarios for every choices are unrealistic, but at least make different scenarios for important ones? Like you know when you have to choose whether to destroy or preserve the Collector's base? Yeah, it change almost nothing in ME3, other than small point differences, a bit altered dialogue, and slight ending prerequisites reduction. Why not: Destroy collector's base: Shepard stumbles upon the Leviathans who told him/her about the Crucible, Cerbs has no access to the reaper tech and TIM is not indoctrinated so not a bad guy, bla bla bla~ Preserve collector's base: Shepard found Crucible blueprint when attacking Cerbs HQ, Cerbs has access to reaper tech and TIM is indoctrinated, bla bla bla. Gameplay Space button simply does too many things! Cover, dodge, sprint, examine, exit from cover. That means when I try to dodge a grenade, I accidentally stick myself to the wall. When I'm tense and push Space one too many, Shepard jumped from his hiding place. *facepalm* The amount of invisible walls does not help either, so far I hit sofas, tables, boxes, and other items that I don't think should have invisible walls. Fetch quests are okay, but this game have too many of them.
  23. You know, I could really do with benevolent, like really benevolent gods. S/he is also a bit vain, but s/he's generally a nice guy/gal. S/he helps all kinds of people, prey and predator alike, without questions attached. S/he doesn't care about how they will use the help, s/he just likes helping people. Also, the amount of help is in proportion to the amount of animal sacrifice/worship/etc. So s/he's quite popular among those with wealth. There has been numerous conflicts in his/her name only because his/her worshipers want to hog him/her for themselves, showing that absolute benevolence attracts mortal's greed and ugliness.
  24. Which I predict wouldn't be as severe as Mubarak protest, those people are exhausted after going through such long conflicts. A simple act of suppression will force them to go home quickly, like pepper spray and rubber bullets. Also, some of them might lose morale after seeing that even if they overthrow this new president again, there's no guarantee his replacement won't do the same. Overthrowing presidents after all, are very hard.
