  1. Hnnngh, why they do this? Rise my hopes so they can be crushed again. :D Damn, I think I would even survive a delay of PE and South Park if it meant new Fallout from Obsidian.
  2. I really enjoy listening to certain this: http://www.last.fm/music/J.E.+Sawyer (certain level of fanboism surely included). More than the earlier "nonvegasifiedIs" versions . there more except the Stille Nacht and thanking song for KS pledger? Better yet, are the songs on Amazon? I certainly can't find them.
  3. Erm... for me, Ironman mode is something from Audiosurf. If you want to limit saving, don't save. If you want challenge, use terrible skillsets or whatever. Besides, it's been already said that there will be a lot of customization possibilities when it comes to difficulty. But personally, I won't be playing PE for the challenge, that will be secondary and not very important aspect of the game...
  4. Nothing specific, but it would be nice to have some character specific enemies. Racists, sexists, oter-ists.... It's always nice to slam a sledgehammer into their face ^^ Though I bet some are already planned. you're* , smoking*, holy*, *****
  5. The fact that you don't know things (why are you doing something, how is power armor powered) doesn't meant it isn't mentioned ingame. And wondering that the game isn't balanced when you stray from the intended story line? Please. I will rather trust Obsidian people know what they're doing just like they knew as Black Isle (or parts of thereof) when they made Fallout 2 in a year under massive time pressure. Unlike any Baldur's Gate, I remember Fallout 2 as a very immersive game I tend to return to every ear or two. That's something I'd like to have in PE as well, not a medicore experience parts of which I would remember as "above average entertainment" and without any will to replay the game.
  6. I wouldn't mind the "chosen one" cliché as much as lack of fat people, lack of (killable) children, and general political overcorrectness. Also I don't like magicians stuck with staves. In fact, In fact, I hate staves, but that's really personal preference... Why can't they have gloves instead or or... a book! Or nothing at all, I imagine one would prefer to have empty hands while doing some complex hand/finger work to cast a major spell.
  7. Hah, please don't get PE involved with crappy PhysX. If anything, you can use Bullet, which is actually open source.
  8. Well, I hope Obsidian people had themselves happy holidays with multiple parties (for those who fancy such events). Now, brew yourself some potions of cure I guess
  9. I don't remember Obsidian or BI ever failing, why should they now when they are making a game independently and listen to the community? The chance of that is extremely low but even if if that happened and Obsidian didn't try to fix it ASAP (and I think it's more likely that we're all going to die in two weeks), well, it would be sad and Obsidian would get first strike.
  10. If any of you played Fable 3, the mid part is how I imagine a fantasy horror. Companion starting to panic due to claustrophobia and some past event, second companion (the dog in this case) sensing something bad but can't tell what it is... kinda cliché, but I really liked it
  11. My only concern is the ability to make short user notes into the map.
  12. I've had this idea for a while ... god of grammar, Theyourits! Any interaction with this deity would include grammatically incorrect choices. If player chooses one of them, he/she is STRUCK BY THE GODLY WRATH. Commandments would include likes of "Thy words' spelling shall be pureth" or "Thou shalt forget the apostrophe". Rumor has it that a brave hero in the times long gone once challenged this god and won the Semicolon...OF DOOM. Then again, my creativity levels are way below average ^^
  13. I'd prefer if you could set up the wheel to whatever you wanted to. Separate controls for party control, inventory menu, dialogue, and so on.
  14. Well, I don't know about you, but after the first playthrough, I maybe remember the exact composition / locations of some of the toughest (or otherwise memorable) groups. Second playthrough makes me memorize some additional encounters, but I usually stop playing after that and perhaps return to the game after a year and at that point I don't remember too much of it... If there was to be some sort of randomization, I think (personally, in my opinion, etc. ^^) I wouldn't stand anything more than what Lephys mentioned, e.g. few variations of enemy groups that would have hard-set locations and could be logically replaced with any of its variations. So very minor randomization... And yeah, I thought "well-known dungeon corridor" includes its layout too
  15. What? Nothing breaks my immersion more than when I tread down a well-known dungeon corridor, thinking to myself "in the next room there are four snake-people and one snake shaman. Better summon some skeletons. Then have the thief open the door, send in the skellies, then cast some cloud spells and close the door. Profit." So illogical maps and extremely generic corridors with some hardcoded points of interest are OK? See, that's why I think some people got PE wrong. What you want is Diablo. What I want is perfect had-crafted world, that makes sense and is logically connected. You can't really do that with randomization, unless it's only the way Grim Dawn uses, i.e. barricades within pre-built world.
  16. Most kinds are acceptable from my point of view (we can roleplay-dodge the stereotypes, hm?). What makes me gag are Sapkowski's elves.
  17. I concur with Fallout 1/2. Including the fact that you could limit the gore in options or turn it off altogether. Characters soaked in blood aren't too bad, but there has to be an easy way to clean them. It would destroy the aesthetic feeling of them! Also I think there's been a few gore threads before.
  18. Randomization (events or location layout) tends to break the immersion unless the random events are like Fallout 2, meaning away from any other locations. And the other problem is that, as far as I've heard, randomization can be very demanding on engine capabilities. Not sure how Unity and its mutation Obsidian uses would handle it.
  19. 11? How about "all"? A slider / other variable option would be nice, but I don't think it would be exactly easy to make... Then again, I would more prefer "full shiny effects" as were in NWN2, then some "decent effects" which would make shield spell a barely visible ball (maybe just air jittering, something) which would flash a bit when hit. But that would, again, require double the work. Oh and then "No effects except for projectiles" for effect haters
  20. See, I don't think it makes much sense to have a person that would survive nuclear strike look the same like a commoner wearing a fancy robe. Personally I was fine with whatever NWN2 showed, but I understand some people might want to tame it a bit. Then again, I don't think this will be an issue due to the nature of PE "view".
  21. First of all, nobody forces you to use potions. Second of all, please don't use amateur photo of a TV screen that makes me feel nauseated when there's an option to use an actual, proper screenshot. And really, in some situations in NWN2 you either had potions, cleric or had to go back to get your 'debuffs' properly healed. I liked that
  22. Don't put too much skills to anything unless you want an easy game. Especially stealth if pretty overpowered. And pistol too :D . Oh and martial arts...that's nice though.
  23. Yeah, the way you describe production department/team makes me wonder what do they do that they aren't loathed by the rest of the studio ^^
  24. Well, for once I would like to see something similar to NWN toolset along with its assets scope and ease of use.
  25. I think they should just stay away from IGN, Gamespy and other major endorsers. And especially far from Metacritic :D . Also Obsidian could make an ingame reference to this. Or maybe an entire quest / questline.
