  1. Before thinking about announcements I'd wait for confirmation that they are working on something, but that's just me.
  2. "Did.. Did I miss the intro movie? Where's the menu? Did I press New Game by accident?!"
  3. I'll never get why people care about Dragonlance.
  4. Omega Cabal starring sexy German mercenary Elsa? Make it take place just before the fall of the Berlin wall and you have a deal.
  5. With the community fixpack it easily looks better than Risen. It's unfortunate it needs an SSD to not stutter like a madman.
  6. Even if someone saw potential in another spy RPG, I doubt they'd use a property like Alpha Protocol, given that'd do more harm than good.
  7. You might as well go full hexer, some of those spells are REALLY overpowered.
  8. The visual graphic over the character's heads is a pretty bad idea, imo.
  9. They've already said it's another class update so I kind of doubt they'd *also* add an extended gameplay look. I'm obviously hoping they do, but I don't expect it.
  10. Not doing it right. Worst, GAFriend, show him how we do things. Obsidian just shot themselves in the foot.I don’t know how much the rest of you know about Kickstarter development culture (I’m an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It’s not like it is in the normal videogame industry where you can become successful by being an ****. If you screw someone over with Kickstarter, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance. What this means is the Kickstarter backers, after hearing about this, are not going to want to play Pillars of Eternity, nor will they purchase any of Obsidian’s games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Obsidian has alienated an entire market with this move. Feargus Urquhart, publicly apologize and post the update NOW or you can kiss your business goodbye.
  11. Nope. Nope. If GAF taught me anything, is that the correct word to use in these situations is "UNACCEPTABLE", possibly in all caps.
  12. Buy the game and then have one of your unsuspecting friends pay for the beer. Finally, play the beer while drinking the game.
  13. Looking good. By the way, did the areas shown in the update already get a paint-over pass or is it going to be done later in development? Also, the beach looks great. IIRC Josh said the team was still looking into ways to make the characters stick out less from the environment, any development on that front? To be honest, I was pretty okay with how they looked in the teaser, but it'd be cool to know if there's been further progress (or not).
  14. Playing mostly as a hollow I haven't been invaded so far. Right now you don't have to worry if you want to play alone. I did only a little bit PVP for the Bell Keepers, so it's hard to say something about cheaters. LOL. You do know that being hollow doesn't stop invasions? Hell even if you kill the boss(es) you can still get invaded. I know. Doesn't change anything that I haven't been invaded as a hollow so far after 26 hours into the game. If PC is anything like PS3, invasions are going to be very rare in NG unless you're specifically going for them (doing stuff like going human while wearing the red string and also staying in the Covenant of Champions). You'll still get a taste here and there, but most of the invasion stuff and the weird honorable duels some people organize seem to be taking place in NG+ and beyond.
  15. That's an old-school element that I could have done without. Maybe it'll work fine with the color schemes for the portraits you've done in-house, but there's potential for it not reading well with custom ones. It certainly didn't work perfectly in the IE games. Is there the option to turn on some kind of number indicators over the portraits?
  16. Funny, a couple of days ago I was wondering why you didn't go for a similar system rather than the camp spots.
  17. It doesn't look like a mockup, but some functionalities, like the character's abilities, seem to be absent/hidden. It does seem much more streamlined compared to the original mockup and, well, I can live with it, but I'd prefer something a bit solider. EDIT: If I had to guess, the thing in the middle doubles as a pause button and a way to change combat speed.
  18. I'd need to find it, but at least one interview mentioned they reworked the original script, so who knows if this stuff even fits into the storyline of the released game. Though I'd certainly be happy to get some more crab people action.
  19. Square Enix official figures were around 800k, while their expectations, which IIRC, either funcroc or C2B had taken out of an exec's LinkedIn page, were around 1mil+. That said, officially they seemed happy with sales, and Anthony Davis hinted on the RPGCodex that the budget, at least on the development side, was extremely low for an AAA production. Ultimately, though, what matters is that, right now, they haven't announced anything Dungeon Siege after III and its DLC.
  20. Most of those screenshots in the article are crops from the teaser trailer we got last year.
  21. Probably not, but I suppose there's always a possibility. It does seem like Square Enix put the IP back to sleep after the game didn't meet their sales expectations.
  22. Well, I doubt they'll change the aesthetics of the class at this point, especially since it's pretty clear that they don't really want to stray too far from the template. Your preference is legitimate, but I'm not sure what else I can say, you're just gonna have to look elsewhere I guess, or play another casting class.
  23. It's definitely a bad idea in general, but the decision to give it a cameltoe and a sexy appearance is also an artistic (as in visual arts) failure.
