  1. I kind of wonder how the deal worked, because when I think "free-to-play multiplayer tactical wargame with TANKS!", Obsidian isn't my first choice.
  2. Do note that the physical box for Eternity was described like this in the KS: Basically, they made no promise of an old-school big box.
  3. That's extremely embarrassing.
  4. Mostly I'm just flabbergasted about how this dead topic was resurrected.
  5. Yes, to this day I keep asking myself what Kubrick saw in Spielberg, and I mostly liked Spielberg's work. I don't understand the outrage, I never even said BioWare is bad and Obsidian is awesome? Cool down a little bit.
  6. The difference between Spielberg and Kubrick doesn't come down solely to aspirations, but also quality and intelligence of their work. There isn't that kind of gulf (both in intentions and quality) between BioWare and Obsidian, and by using that kind of comparison you painted BioWare in an extremely bad light.
  7. If you want to defend BioWare, perhaps arguing that they're the Steven Spielberg to Obsidian's Stanley Kubrick is... not the best way to do that?
  8. Backers portraits and new areas seem to be shaping up well, though the one next to BlueLars is a bit too obviously a painted-over photo. Not sure how to feel on druids being limited to their natural weapons in Spiritshift form, but at least they can cast spells, right?
  9. Man, I was hoping C2B had insider info on the new project that everyone thinks is going to be announced soon, but instead it's just more Metacritic Metadiscussion Anyway, I don't remember anything about Bethesda moving the release date up, and when it was first announced it seemed to pretty much fit everyone's expectations, given the release window was announced a lot earlier (Fall 2010, see the teaser trailer).
  10. They've kept info on the beginning of the game safely under wraps. You shouldn't really be surprised they decided not to reply to that.
  11. What was the most challenging thing to implement so far? I suppose this is a design question, but: what do you think is the biggest thing PoE has over the original Infinity Engine games? Do you already have a decent idea of the things modders will be able to edit *for sure* in the finale title? Your expectations for the True Detective finale?
  12. Close enough to Icewind Dale-style portraits to get my seal of approval. Good job, everyone, pat yourselves in the back!
  13. If you're really worried about the game's quality, just wait until you can get some impressions from people you trust. Hell, there are already streams of complete playthroughs out there (no doubt most of them based on pirated copies, but what can you do?) so it shouldn't be too difficult to check out those claims. Anyway, Schreier isn't really wrong with his tweet. Pre-ordering is almost never a good idea, especially before the reviews go up, and should really only be done if you have a really deep trust in the dev and care for some special edition/bonus you can only get that way.
  14. Probably a pool of Cartman's diarrhea for people who are into it.
  15. WAIT WHAT? ALVIN WAS THE BOMB YO. THE BOMB. YO. A bomb?!
  16. That's clearly not true of the Dragon Age setting, though.
  17. That's because it's the console versions that are censored. Wait. Seriously? WTF Ubi? Yeah, read the document linked in the OP (well, the section on censorship anyway), it specifically mentions EMEA console versions.
  18. That's because it's the console versions that are censored.
  19. Feedback in Morrowind was pretty fraking awful. Worse than Daggerfall, weirdly enough. You'd see the hit connecting and *hear* it connecting, but it was actually missing. That was the annoying part of its skill-based melee.
  20. The MMO is already announced and isn't an Obsidian project, though, mostly something they're collaborating on in a small capacity (the team working on it is 15-ish I think?) But was it officially announced? Yes.
  21. It takes a lot to move your character's reputation, and extracting serum a few time or doing quests certain ways while you're trying to be good can get you down to neutral really fast. I didn't really experiment a lot with it, but I remember it being easier to get an evil reputation if only because of the number of enemies you could extract serum from.
  22. Funny thing. Uplay isn't mentioned on the Steam page. I just checked Far Cry 3's page for comparison, and Uplay is listed under the hardware requirements, but otherwise there's no mention of it. Considering there are no minimum/recommended specs for South Park yet, I wouldn't really take that to mean that Uplay won't be needed. In this case, it's really better to assume it's going to be needed until stated otherwise.
  23. It's quite lovely as long as you're looking at strictly scenery and not any of the (unmodded) characters. Honestly, from what I've seen, Bethesda's character art is constantly superior to the modders work in Skyrim's case. Not as high-res, certainly, but they don't do barbie dolls and creepy inflated **** barbarians (don't search these, just take me on my word and spare yourself the sight).
