  3. They do a wierd little backflip thing instead of being knocked down. It's still useful though, interrupts them for a second or so.

  8. Sie email: I love it when you kill old men. That whole email is golden
  9. They're really not that much better than the regular weapons to be honest. Not to mention, the pistol is hugely expensive. Don't expect to be able to buy much else if you get it.
  10. I meant as a hat out of the customisation window. I was sure I saw a screenshot of it, although I can't find it now, so maybe I was just dreaming Although, the picture of the engineer in the specialization selection screen is certainly wearing one, so maybe I'm not a complete basket case yet
  11. I've seen some screenshots of Mike wearing a combat helmet in the game, the one that shows up on the Engineer specialisation pic when you're choosing your focus after Saudi. Is it actually possible to get this thing? I see a headwrap or a Russian cap appear sometimes depending on what country I'm in, but never the helmet Or do I have to be an engineer?
  12. Wish there was an upgrade to jack up your sound dampening. Love to sneak around in the tech armour, but they always hear me just as I get to them
  13. Interesting thing is that it's showing up on IGN's "most viewed" games - all others are major unreleased titles, RDR or in the 9s. Interest seems to exceed the lacklustre US mainstream gaming media reviews. We'll see. Could be some of the bad reviews are causing people to look though. Car crash mentality I've seen it happen with horribly reviewed games before. Hope not though.
  14. I just went from the pc version to the xbox 360 version and what a change. Mini games way better, no framedrops, so atm I think the console versions are better Interesting, I thought the pc version would be superior. Anymore impressions from the 360 version? The 360 version performs solidly. Frame rate is steady, and there are no interface issues or jerkiness. Graphics are better on a good PC though. Lockpicking is a bit harder on the console, hacking is a bit easier.
  15. Hehe, spiffy! There were screenshots of Mike wearing the tux on the yacht floating around before, looks like they cut out some options. Pity, I'd love to run around Saudi Arabia in a tux
  16. Old staple of rpgs, a headshot isn't always a headshot You can fall headfirst off a cliff, be stabbed, shot, burned, frozen, exploded and have your soul pulled out through your nose and survive it all with the help of a healing potion/medic pack. Until some long haired pretty boy stabs you in a cutscene and everyone forgets to use a pheonix down Not saying it's a good thing, but sometimes you have to be prepared to see a lifebar. Honestly, I'm not sure which method I prefer.
  17. I think Mass Effect 2 created an expectation in some people, that AP, because on the outside it looks like a 3rd person shooter, should control in the same way. The fact that there's old school style rpg calculations running things under the hood really throws them off. Perhaps that isn't fair, but hey, it's their $60-$100, if they've gone off that style of game, they're free to buy something else. On the other hand, if you go into AP accepting that it's an RPG first and foremost, that stats will determine your success rather than reflexes and twitch skills, and are happy with that sort of game, you're bound to enjoy it. Really, on the 360, the graphics are better than what Dragon Age did (the PC versions would be another debate). And the AI is on par with ME1. Meh As for a conspiracy... doubt it. Sega's not a major player anymore, but there's no reason for gamesites to put them and their delicious advertising dollars offside for fun.
  18. Powdered unicorn horn? That needs to be a gadget in this game!
  19. To get the achievement for the tutorial, you have to complete all the bonus objectives that are only revealed to you (spoilers obviously) . Think you have to read the emails as well, not sure on that one though. As for at least one other achieve, it's possible not to have them yet, depending on your playstyle. You're guaranteed to get one achieve at the end of the final Saudi mission, so maybe play until then to see what happens.
  20. Hah! I can see that one happening to a few people
  21. Hmm I have SIE at 10 and used her for my handler in the Embassy mission, I rescued her at the mansion but have not run into her again and I'm at Tapei. Did Saudi, Moscow, Rome, Tapei in that order. Odd, no? Did I miss something? I was hoping to romance her. Also has anyone found the secret info on Mina? If so, where please? I just can't seem to fill out Darcy and Westridge's info. Any help there would be welcomed. For SIE, the romance wraps up I think Darcy's info can only be filled out by getting Mina to investigate him when she offers to look up info on people in AP, that's how I got it anyway. Maybe it's the same for Westridge.
  22. You get to respec at the end of Saudi Arabia, but that's your only chance I'm afraid.
  23. If you loved ME1, and the early assault rifles and their horrible aim didn't bother you, then AP will probably work for you
  24. I'd say yes, I think it's awesome. Obviously, there are plenty of people who disagree and think AP is terrible. Maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle. Strengths: Plot, characters, atmosphere, choices, the mechanics if you're an old-school rpg lover. Weaknesses: Graphics, AI, PC version seems to be buggy, the mechanics if you're a more shooter type lover. So, in the end... up to you
