  1. Oh come on, it can't be that bad. I mean, they made Sonic, right?
  2. It would be so cool if they made that the official release date and then came out on that day and said "April Fool's!" Cool isn't the first reaction that comes to mind. But then maybe I'm getting too wound up
  3. Think they've got some sort of filter going there? It does look a bit better than the earlier screenshots.
  4. Apparently, for Dragon Age they added some 50 or so sidequests. I'm guessing they were the mage's collective/chantry board/blackstone quests, those didn't really seem to fit the game as well as all the other stuff did. Mostly just MMO style 'go there, kill stuff, come back' quests. Well, I suppose most RPG sidequests are like those But these didn't have as much window dressing to convince you they were different
  5. And Alpha Protocol is due May 31, according to Amazon. There's plenty of time between the two to not cause friction. Those are two big MAYBEs. I don't rule out the possibility, but there's little evidence that this will happen. Oh, I thought AP was March for some reason. Looks like I wasn't paying enough attention.
  6. Agreed. It's probably wiser to build up for a media blitz in the last weeks before release. AP's current release date is in a rather quiet time of the year anyway (not that many game releases in late spring or early summer), it will not have much competition. Got Final Fantasy 13 due in March, and given track records, it's entirely possible that ME2 and Splinter Cell (who I suppose are Alpha Protocol's biggest competitors) will both be delayed to around about that time. Bah.
  7. And just this morning, my local EB (in Australia) put out Alpha Protocol boxes on its 'coming soon' stand. Guess they missed the press release Ah well. Good luck, and hope it doesn't get delayed again
  8. Waiting until your scheduled day of release to officially announce a delay? Lame Sega. Very lame.
  9. Maybe they'll let you slam Grigori's face into a crate instead of the desk now. I think that's worth waiting for.
  10. Don't worry, we've got conspiracy theories about the Mike Thorton twitter to keep us entertained. Although I have a sneaking suspicion that they mean nothing, and you guys are all laughing at us
  11. That's because you buy all your games, you dirty non-pirate. I buy my games on steam. I don't need another DRM to crash it to hell and back. Also, I like using mods. GFWL requires disabling in FO3 to use the more advanced ones. Then disable it. It isn't that hard to do. That is a violation of the EULA. I'm sure everyone very carefully reads those
  12. I recall them mentioning before that they don't want to release the achievement list because it contains spoilers. But you have a point with the rest
  13. Says the magazine that gave Lair 9 out of 10 Obsidian just didn't pay them enough to say it's an RPG.
  14. So are you talking about just taking the finished product they have right now, and just holding it back 8 months? That can't happen because in 8 months, graphics standards go up, as do gameplay standards. What may be a unique bullet point to Alpha Protocol now may not be in that time, hence the selling power of the game falls too. Just because it's a terrible idea doesn't mean people haven't done it. For reference, see SEGA's North American localization of the Yakuza games. Oh god, don't remind me of what they did to Yakuza. I don't need to be reminded of how much worse it could get.
  15. Maybe it's just a case of me refusing to face reality, but I can't see 8 months happening. As some people have mentioned, you don't pay for 8 months of 'polishing' on a game that isn't going to be a mega-hit (whether you should or not is another question). As much as I wish it success, this isn't going to sell like Halo or GTA, and I don't see them making back the cost of an extra 8 months of development time. Gamestop could well be mistaken, and as far as I know, Gamespot usually takes their release dates from them? Although this theory may well just be wishful thinking.
  16. Tell you what Sega. I'll buy your Sonic game if you release Alpha Protocol now as well.
  17. I can't imagine a 8 month delay at this point. Unless something is horribly wrong. If anything, Sega would probably pushing to get it out this year in order to catch the all-mighty Christmas, even if it 'isn't ready'. Publishers seem to love to do that, witness KOTOR 2 (due originally in Feb, then magically it's somehow ready 3 months early for a Dec release). Still hoping it's done and ready for Oct though.
  18. "Felt barely RPG" What on earth is that supposed to mean? Maybe I'm too much of a fanboy, judging it just from trailers, but so far it looks more like an RPG than anything out this year so far.
  19. Typically, you only get really early reviews (weeks before the release day) on titles that have a lot of hype surrounding them. Unfortunatly, AP really doesn't have that sort of hype right now And hell, it hasn't even gone gold yet (or at least, there's been no announcement of it going gold).
  20. Well, I'd say most of those people thought Oct 6 was a firm release date. But hey, given that retailers will let you switch the pre-order to something else, or get a refund, it's not like a pre-order is 'wasted'.
  21. What? He's not a Twitter addict tapping away feverishly every free second that he has?
