True, I remember figuring that one out when I saw only one bed(although, I really hoped that they cuddled with each other every morning). There was also the key in the potted plant, I remember thinking that it would be a logical place for a spare and voila, there it was. The prophetess basically tells you the ending without spoiling it, so you survive if you remember not to open it. The game has a way to keep you on your toes with its story until the end.

I've recently replayed VTMB, I found myself thinking realistically about certain things and actually having to use my brain to solve puzzles. The opposite of what happens when I play a BW game, not only I suspend my disbelief but my IQ as well. Not always a bad thing that since BW is really good at shifting focus so that nothing is looked at too closely. I don't know what the hell happened with DA2, but i'm sure there's an interesting story behind its development. Or at least a guide of what not to do.

Right, nothing spells survival horror quite as multiplayer. That's why every horror game before RE5 had multiplayer and not because RE5 was release at the time when every game needed to have an online feature. Seriously, eventually I'm going to look back on my life and be able to count the video game series that ended gracefully with one hand and with the way that Hollywood keeps releasing remakes, I can probably say the same thing about movies.

Magic vs Ordinary
Orogun01 replied to Osvir's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I don't know about ordinary ways, but they can certainly devote some spots in the mage tree for defensive spells. Not buffs or shields but AoE spells that change the battle field. E.G: "No melee- only ranged attacks" or a Smoke fog that blinds everyone but everyone with a specific feat/skill.- 1 reply

Up until 5 I had enjoyed all titles, but then again quality fell down in Capcom games ever since the firing of their main people. I expect 6 to be Resident Evil 5.1.

ME3 was; despite his faults, visibly finished and DA2 was not. DA2 felt like a primitive beta version of the game that they released after cutting a few corners in order to make it profitable, which i'm sure it was. On the other hand I seriously doubt that two industry veterans can't handle criticism, so maybe some BW fans have an overestimated opinion of themselves (probably from playing the games, heyoo) if they think that they're the cause.

Fishing

Same reason that people like baseball: beer. -
I think he wanted to specialize rather than the Ace of all trades that you end up with in both Skyrim and Oblivion.

Fishing
Orogun01 replied to Stuttery G's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
As a fan of the Dragon Breath series I gotta say that fishing is a yay for me. Besides I need something to do while drunk. -
Awesome. I am assuming it will be a decent upgrade in terms of the engine, given the official expansions always did a pretty great job with improving the graphics. I'm not quite sure what you mean by fixing the combat, the game is perfect in that regard. The RTS bit could had used a bit of polishing, even with the mods I don't feel that strategy actually plays much of a role.

Purpose, Mr. Anderson! It is purpose that created us, it is purpose that connects us, purpose that pulls us, that guides us, drives us, binds us. It is purpose that defines us. Purpose!!! You couldn't resist, could you?

Is that the Shawshank Redemption?

I really dislike that kind of exposition; is too cheap and lazy for my taste, like they didn't know how to portray the bad guy through his actions so now they need him to be explicit and explain his evil plan word for word like you're "special". It's lazy at its best patronizing at its worst, best we find out by ourselves what we want to do rather than be swayed by pretty arguments. I mean how hard can it be to write some scenes where both points of view are expressed through acts rather than words.

I don't think that I've ever played a game that actually implemented a wizard's duel.

The logistics was probably them waiting for the right bid. Score one for piracy over greed.

The important thing is to keep at it and have an objective view of what you do and what is yours.

What is there not to get? Bagelheading, why bagelheading is desirable, why anyone would want to look like they have an O-Ring fused on their head. That sort of thing. It's Japan, hell if I know.

The writing style seems a little too direct, you should work on establishing a better rhythm and tone. Other than that, its successful at painting a picture without being explicit(kudos for that BTW). But I kind of got lost at the middle when it became "faster", it often happens to me when action is present on a passive medium.

It's a good idea to know the law when you are in a different country. Either way I hope that the consulate takes this up, he should be tried by his home country's courts. Cultural relativism and all that jazz.

What is the purpose of this thread? Why does it exist? When you force yourselves or others to believe that this thread has a purpose an infinite regress of posts occurs. Stop it

New Game + vs Once and Done
Orogun01 replied to Cariannis's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'm a fan of NG+ although I would prefer it if they actually incorporated something that makes replay with a carryover save worthwhile, like collectibles, or special items.
