The 3900X and 5700XT should carry a mid-ranged gamer for quite some time. Personally if that's what I had, I probably wouldn't even bother for a while. I used to be a staunchly mid-ranged gamer but I got sucked back into hardware extremism (even after swearing I wouldn't ever do it again). My bank account is not pleased.

Still locked into Death Stranding. I'm definitely one of the players that likes it (it got mixed reviews upon release, half didn't care for it half loved it). Road building and consistent deliveries is my forte. I'm quite the constructionist/courier dual class. I love how this game is like 50% survival horror and 50% satire -the game is absolutely riddled with social media algorithms/features- and seems to mock the whole "fetch quest" criticisms because it is probably the classiest "fetch quest" game there is. It's not so much about their products or their demographics it's the fact that historically, when they commit themselves to a market, they are absolutely determined to crush them and be as anti-competitive as possible. I honestly think that Microsoft knocking them out of the OS market for a while all those years ago really traumatized them and gave them an inferiority complex, so now they've developed a bit of a narcissistic business mentality and just want to dominate everything.

Ryzen 7 5800x is hardly worth replacing a 9700k with after looking at benchmarks so after many internal contradictions and second guessing I guess I'll still wait for Rocket Lake. The IceGiant Prosiphon Elite should arrive shortly and I think it's a perfect cooler for the last of the 14nm process and this 1050 Watt power supply is just sitting here in my room collecting dust so may as well put on a spectacular grand finale. I would be an absolute Chad if I can make the i9 Rocket Lake last 6+ plus years.

As someone who's in fact looking forward to the 3080TI it would definitely have to meet or beat the 6900XT in performance to consider it or else what's the point? Then again, they teach you in marketing school to never compete over price only compete for features so it's possible that Nvidia could be banking on superior DLSS and RTX performance at bit less rasterization for the same price tag as the 6900XT. They are bastards if that turns out to be the case, but I'd definitely bet on it.

Overclocking RAM is super easy especially if you have a good motherboard. I reckon anyone who's buying a Ryzen 9 is gonna be buying a killer motherboard with it so if I had to speculate, 4x8gb 3600mhz with overclocking should do the trick. OR, if you want to really dig deep, there are memory brands that are dual-ranked so that means there are some brands where 2x16gb is just as efficient, but you'll have to research that on your own if you're interested.
