We do have a bit of a white trash redneck problem in the U.S. though I'm not sure how to effectively deal with it. It's not just confined to the South either, go to any rural area in the U.S. and you're gonna find some really dumb and ignorant people who are against positive change. Liberals are too busy obsessing over Russiagate and class shaming anyone who isn't in their little high tower "educated" bubble to do anything about it, and openly racist people like Bill Maher absolutely do not help the situation, he's like the shining example of an ignorant American liberal. So yeah, I've pretty much completely given up hope on Democrats to do the right thing especially if they win in November, they will take that as proof of their superiority and grow complacent again.

It's been a long year. I actually envy the people who waited simply because I wish I didn't already devastate this game from every nook and cranny. First playthrough was pure magic.

Yeah let's face it, DLSS combined with Ray Tracing is an extremely magical accessory in Nvidia's arsenal and Radeon's hasn't spilled too many beans on how they're gonna match it. I guess we'll have to find out on the 28th because yeah, raw rasterization simply isn't enough anymore. However, some games do look better on Radeon, colorful shiny games like Borderlands and The Outer Worlds tend to have better color density with Radeon cards in my opinion. It doesn't use compression like Nvidia does. Nvidia cards tend to do better in darker games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Metro Exodus, and Control. So I guess, like everything, it boils down to preference and price.

https://siliconlottery.com/ Check here once they release, it's probably not worth paying extra for a guaranteed good chip but the statistics available on here should be demonstrative about the limits of their OC capabilities.

I honestly think I'm sold on the 5950X Just imagine pairing it with this bad boy: https://www.icegiantcooling.com/ And getting 4.9Ghz across all 16 cores! I mean yeah some OCD people will be bummed it's not at that 5.0Ghz mark but I mean come on there's always next gen and we're already looking at overkill anyway. I'll stick with Nvidia because DLSS 2.x is a blessing! You don't want to be too Devil Red, you gotta curb your evil with a complimentary opposite color, and Green is certainly the complimentary opposite of Red!

I might try PoE again, but this time, no Aloth! I hate wizards. Priests and druids are fine but not wizards. Durance, Sagani, Kana, Hiravius, and Pallegina only. Grieving Mother is too friggin' creepy. -

^Absolutely what Mrs. Crimson said! Should have mentioned that, DLSS 2.0 or higher is the gold standard. -
Haha not in America! My biggest criticism of Bernard is that he's too loyal to the Democratic Party. Green Party yo!

After going through complete system driver updates, playing Monster Hunter: World again. It has not crashed yet so fingers crossed that this update buffet actually fixed the issue. Crashing aside, I recommend this only on a big sale. It's quite fun if you're actually willing to get into it, has some Witcher 3 vibes but much more crafting features but so far kinda but the world doesn't seem as open-ended as Witcher 3. I mean you have this central hub and you go on missions and it takes to "zones" I guess you could call them where you find crafting materials, find monster tracks that update research (which helps unlock info that makes hunting them easier like finding their weaknesses), complete the mission then return to the hub and upgrade your weapons and craft ammo and stuff (I'm using the Light Bowgun as a weapon and one of its features is a wide variety of ammo you can craft for it, right up my ally!). So yeah, I'd say it's good at a nice discount, but not full retail. It has DLSS and that's a huge plus, as I can get +120 fps on high settings. Also, if you have good hardware, I recommend checking out the list of games that actually have DLSS and picking a few up, DLSS is like magic and gives a massive fps boost at very minimal cost to visuals. https://www.ozarc.games/best-dlss-games/ What a time to be a gamer! -
Funny how the two things I want the most are completely sold out and virtually unavailable: The Geforce 3080 and 9mm ammunition. What have I done to deserve this?
-
Sounds too much like Zen 3 imo, it simply wouldn't be Intel if they weren't sporting +5Ghz boost clocks. As I think @Keyrock mentioned, it's the fact that they're still using 'Core' that bothers me. Time for something completely new, like 'Ocean' or something (I mean come on it's Intel, it's gotta sound watery )
-
Yup Intel remains a $240 Billion company so it doesn't look like they're in a grand rush to innovate their architecture, so as a consumer and not a company shill I'm very glad AMD is forcing them out of complacency. Should hopefully see some new chip designs within a few years.
-
Yeah I'm not too impressed with what I see, well, besides the visuals. Seems like a bad concoction of design/features. Also, this Early Access for 1 year crap needs to cease and desist!

Yes I'm considered and extremist here just because of my anti-war and pro-environment stance, also government offering 'Green' jobs for those who want one is considered 'extreme' here, even though I am by-and-large pretty fiscally conservative in leaving the private sector alone. Funny because one of our greatest Presidents, FDR, was far more to the left on the economy than that. He's now considered and a left wing radical because of people like Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater polluted our political environment.

By worldwide standards, the United States is slanted rightward pretty far. The Clinton's and the Obama's and the Biden's are quite conservative. What is the definition of 'Conservative'? Maintaining the status quo. Progressives, on the other hand, want to push the status quo forward, which means repairing old grievances and coming to new levels of understanding with the world at large.

It's called "Wishful thinking" and we are all guilty of it to some degree or another. Just check out the 'Avowed' section and look at people hoping it's going to be some kind of Baldur's Gate game. Taking something a Dev says and bending and twisting it into your own narrative is a trap people fall into frequently, sadly. Personally, I'm going into BG3 when its on a budget and well patched up. It's been a long time since I gave a rats ass about Baldur's Gate type games (Admittedly, the tedious party cluster**** combat in PoE kinda shied me away from it), but every once in a while you have to revisit games you enjoyed when you were a nerdgasming teenager and I'm hoping BG3 plays well enough to satisfy my character building fetishes without being bogged down by excessive clutter.

Intel may actually be getting into performance GPU's and if Nvidia gets into performance CPU's (though no evidence of that exists)...just think of the competitive dynamics that would lead to greater performance and pricing across the board. EDIT: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/jensen-huang-hints-at-nvidia-branded-arm-cpus Well...

That's what I have now, but the smaller screen makes the resolution look even better and the TN panel gives it faster response times. The only drawback I see here is the color quality may be a bit inferior to the IPS but reviews are suggesting it's very fine tunable to get it close.

Wouldn't Reagan and Goldwater be proud of the current "Destroy The Left" Party it has been since like, Taft? Remember, it was Reagan, who hated leftists so much that he armed Al Qaeda to try to stop them, and Goldwater advocated using nukes against the North Vietnamese government. So yeah, I fail to see a discrepancy there

https://www.newegg.com/p/0JC-0004-00551 Oh my goodness how did I miss this little gem? 24" 1440p 165hz on a TN panel. We're talking diamond smooth gaming with the right hardware to back it up.

Yeah I saw that, though I wasn't sure how 61fps B3 stacked up against the 3080 at the time. Upon inspection looks like 'Badass' 4k on the 3080 gets about 60 fps, which makes it about on par with Big Navi (provided these are accurate 'Badass' results). So yeah, looks like Big Navi could achieve scores that are well within the variation of Nvidia from one frame to the next and not enough difference to make a difference. The only question remains is my growing fondness towards DLSS and perhaps some dabbling into Ray Tracing. That's what I'm waiting to hear from on the 28th. I guess we can make this the General AMD thread lol.
-
Color me impressed as well. Shadow of the Tomb Raider actually chokes up my i7 9700k at high (140+) fps. Now we wait for the real presentation on the 28th, let's see how Big Navi stacks up against the 3080, that will be decisive on whether I want to switch to AMD hardware.

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-announces-rocket-lake-q1-2021-release-ahead-of-amd-zen-3-announcement-pcie-4 LOL that was quick. They literally just released 10th gen. Oh well, perhaps now I'll just buy 'Rocket Lake' and the Geforce 3080 all in one shabang, provided AMD doesn't release KILLER hardware before then (doubtful, Nvidia is kicking ass with DLSS and RTX and the 3080 is a beast but never say never!)

Donald Trump is a puppet to Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federation, is a conspiracy theory, and it is gobbled but by "respectable" and "educated" people in many circles. -

New studies are showing that people who believe in conspiracy therories actually have high IQ's. Maybe a bit daft depending on the conspiracy but yeah. And no, religion is not going anywhere with conservatives, they have their own little religious community and constitute about 25-30% of the country. Liberals have their academic "professional" high towers in the cities and suburbs and that appears to be sufficient for them. Leftists have literally nothing in this country, because we have no party and no voice so we don't have any spiritual centers.
