  1. When I think "left" I think of finding the poor and downtrodden people who have no voice and creating a movement that reasonably accommodates their needs and desires, not Idpol. The problem is mostly alt-right types trying to stifle genuine "left" movements as purely "anti-white" or "business crushing". Such behavior ironically creates more of what exactly they're afraid of from the so-called "left". It's like someone's trying to manufacture a race war or something and people biting it hook line and sinker.
  2. Every ideology has its fans, there's people in Cuba and Venezuela who support their governments wholeheartedly. I think the biggest issue here people have is lack of Democracy rather than different economic approaches. Look at Europe at the 2nd half of the 20th century. Socialist parties were all over the place and doing well and when the pendulum swung in the 1980's or so they started waning in popularity. Democracy. EDIT: China is a whole different animal. There's no legitimate democracy there but their government is able to adapt to popular moods and change accordingly unike the U.S. An expert on Chinese affairs once said that in China you can't change the Party but you can change the policy, in the U.S. you can change the Party but you can't change the policy. I think there's a lot of validity to that.
  3. And hire Carmack! I know Doom 3 was a disaster but Carmack doesn't have to be the lead designer.
  4. "Normalcy" wasn't good, which is why Trump won in the first place. If the suffering people in the Midwest wanted a 'Normal' candidate, then they would have voted in Clinton, which is why I think the only thing that can stop Trumpism is a transformational candidate that's anything but normal.
  5. I can beat the game with just the Beretta so I guess it's one of those "My son of a bitch" type of deals when it comes to mechanics. Most people don't like top-down isometric turn based games anymore because of the slug pacing and poor mimic of realism but that never stopped the "sons of bitches" who like it from getting Kickstarter content out of it.
  6. Resident Evil 1 (1996) After almost 25 years I'm still addicted to this game. You know what!? Someone really ought to do a Kickstarter and try to recapture the goodness of the original. Who can we enlist for this task?
  7. With the way the industry is going, think in terms of 'Netflix'. Microsoft 'being' Netflix and Bethesda and Obsidian are both independent studios to their platform.
  8. Yes firing Todd and Pete but keeping Jeremy Soule (His talent is wasted on Bethesda) and maybe some of their more talented crew members would be the best. With the disaster of Fallout 76 could be a real possibility especially if they fail again.
  9. Won't change much, Bethesda is now just part of their 'Netflix' catalogue and things will more or less continue as before, now with just less egocentrism on Bethesda's part so that's a good thing. And yes, should be a tinge of hope for New Vegas fans. Would like to see another one, sure, though Fallout is not my 'baby' franchise.
  10. I'd say both right and left libertarians want just enough government to act as an adhesive to their respective viewpoints so yeah, kinda pointless being overly critical on the matter. Clint Eastwood is considered a right libertarian and I love most of his movies (refuse to watch 'American Sniper' though!) so yeah if you're a right winger and not a ultra authoritarian meathead you're bearable in my book, especially if you churn out good content like Eastwood and Paul Harrell (<-- the absolute best gun instructor on Youtube in my view).
  11. Eastern countries are rule of thumb authoritarian and leftist. We don't want authoritarian leftism here in the West we want libertarian leftism. What's going on with authoritarian tendencies here in the West right now is right wing authoritarianism which I consider far worse than the left counterpart you'd find in Eastern countries like China.
  12. Eh, the more lawlessness the better! Someone has to take these meathead authorities and their lacky's and crunch 'em down several notches. I'm too much of a coward to fight authority on my own whim but these front line skirmishers are quite tenacious!
  13. https://www.asiatimesfinancial.com/ccp-announces-plan-to-take-control-of-chinas-private-sector.amp Looks like the pendulum has swung in China. I think it's a generational thing. In the 80's they privatized much of the economy and loosened control quite a bit, now it looks like they're going back towards ideological purity. Not that I want the U.S. to emulate China or anything but this will sure piss off the fascist bootlickers in the West.
  14. If a lot of them weren't such bootlickers and authority lovers I wouldn't hold too hard opinion. The trick here is to find the Republican-leaning people who aren't too fond of cops (they exists) and try to win them over to our side. Both right wing militia types and leftists have something in common: They both don't care for police officers.
  15. Both are garbage. Case in point: Dems are just as authoritarian and anti-Democratic as they claim Republicans are. Just a different flavor.
  16. But Florida is like the center of the Earth! Doesn't the rest of the world see the U.S. how the rest of the country sees Florida?
  17. 1986 Miami Dade shooting. 2 FBI agents dead, 5 wounded, both suspects killed.
  18. ^Not impressed so far. It's almost like they're just trying to milk a niche franchise w/o adapting at all to modern tech advances, which is just as bad as ruining a franchise w/ too much reliance on tech. They have utterly failed to strike a balance like Obsidian did with TOW.
  19. Liberals, alt-right, cops, wannabe American conservative Europeans, likewise
  20. https://nvidianews.nvidia.com/news/nvidia-to-acquire-arm-for-40-billion-creating-worlds-premier-computing-company-for-the-age-of-ai?ncid=so-twit-58914#cid=gnl_so-twit_en-us Lotta money just for tech sheeet.
  21. Didn't read the article but I notice this on his Twitter feed:
  22. Yeah it's a strange contradiction with the far right. They'd take the con artist "middleman" rather than strategically altering the playing field so that multi-faceted ecosystems can compete for better content. Bethesda and Apple both have this "God Complex" where they think their content is the greatest gift to mankind. Maybe that's why they hate the Epic Games Store so much, they represent a logical non-dogmatic approach to competitive business that threatens both Apple and Kickstarter junkies. Ha! Would be strange bedfellows if Bethesda and Kickstarter teamed up.
  23. Always been a blue collar guy. And in my personal experience, "mid-sized" developers asking for money on Kickstarter are mostly con jobs and artificially inflated egos. I've dropped too much money and have received lukewarm content at best and nothing at all at worst. And yes, huge corporations in the past have developed nasty habits of monopoly based economics, so them recently developing a pro-competition atmosphere in some circles (Like EGS) is welcoming. Competing with foreign markets like Russia and China also helps stir competition.
  24. At this point in time I don't really see much hope for small businesses. We are literally at the mercy of competing billionaires. Someone gets lucky and finds a way to get stinkin' rich, then they take on a dominating market share and compete with it. Take this guy for instance https://twitter.com/TimSweeneyEpic?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author Was founder and CEO of Epic Games, found a massive market with Fortnite and suddenly he's a billionaire and decides to take on Steam and open up the Epic Games Store, compels GabeN to to get to work and improve Steam and Valve. Competition! Also, at the same time, he's doing a great job calling out monopolies and is a staunch critic of Apple (To the point where they blocked all EGS apps from their ecosystem). That is literally the future I see for markets. Billionaires and millionaires taking a staunch anti-monopoly stance and welcoming competition. Edit: To clarify, there will always be small businesses of a variety of sorts and they certainly have their place in society, and people will continue to make a decent living running them. I just feel that trying to artificially give them a boost in the form of state aid or national prestige is a misnomer.
  25. The answer to that is UBI. Any extra job is bonus income so you can buy a house (or a rent a nice apartment) and your preferred consumer goods.
