Steam vs GoG redemption ?
Mamoulian War replied to endruwiggin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)In the cases of both Steam and GoG, a person purchases a license for a game, not an installer, and not an account. Steam's subscriber agreement relates to their server service, and not the games a person owns in their account - and GoG has its exact equivalent which is their Terms of Use agreement, in which GoG reserves the same rights to terminate an account, and to change their Terms of Use without warning and at their discretion. So Steam game purchases are owned by the purchaser in the same sense that games were owned prior to digital distribution, and in the same sense that a game purchased through GoG is owned. In all cases, the purchaser receives a license, which is the sole possession of the one who purchased it. The difference is, that if GoG "terminates" your account, you can still play your games.

Well, to bad they did not introduced it in WotLK, maybe I would still be playing that game :/- New Real Time With Pause Dungeons & Dragons RPG - SWORD COAST LEGENDS
You're having a different discussion than me. You're talking about whether you like those changes or not and whether they seem fun to you. I obviously can't prove you wrong on that. What I'm saying is that those aspects show a very clear divergence from how D&D CRPGs of the past played, so much so that the combat gameplay we see in that video doesn't really evoke games like Baldur's Gate or NWN. That much is quite obvious from that video - unless you think we need to read the manual and play the full game to be able to tell. From what I know of you personally, I think you don't really enjoy hardcore RPG mechanics and would prefer a relatively casual and actiony romp. I don't mean that as an insult - and I don't think you'll take it as one, given your self-professed preferences. I think you may well enjoy SCL. Which is my point. I don't have a bone to grind with SCL not being my cup of tea - that's not a problem. I do think it was disingenious of them to announce themselves as the return of good old D&D CRPGs. Tigranes is right on the money. If I invited all of you for dinner promising steak, prime rib, and an open bar and then when you all get there you find out I'm serving hamburgers and potato chips with one can of cheap beer you'd be a little disappointed. That is not to say burgers and chips are not good, it just wasn't what I promised you. They pitched this project by throwing around the D&D brand and the promise to live up to the IE games and NWN. That attracted a vocal and passionate audience. But the meal they are serving up, even though it's not out of the kitchen yet, is something else entirely. Their own forums have gone from being full of mooning fanboys to shark infested waters. Oh now I understand, Tigranes in future use analogies that involve food..they much easier to understand By the way GD are you really inviting me for dinner....or was this just part of your post and not to be taken seriously..because I love steak and prime rib !!! I think the real message was: "Do you like hamburgers?"- Steam vs GoG redemption ?
Mamoulian War replied to endruwiggin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)You just broke my heart :'(- Serious first world problems: How do you name your Characters?
Well, after browsing and reading little bit these forums for last two days, I am pretty tempted to make my first character Barbarian named Burt Hutt- Royal edition, collector's box and number of keys available
It depends on country and their intellectual property and consumer laws- Royal edition, collector's box and number of keys available
Unfortunately you misunderstood the pledge. I have the same tier as you do. And only one key for Royal Edition is available from that pledge. The other copy will come with the disc.- Champion Edition for Mac not available on Gog
Mamoulian War replied to Drawnacrol's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)On GoG with one key you get automatically access to Win, Mac and Linux versions of the game. Of course the game has to support it in the first place. And Pillars have said, they will support all OSs.- Where is the Bakers Portal
It's right here- Keys ? When ?
Ok, Time to go to sleep And chill, you'll get your keys soon- Seven Dragon Saga by Tactical Simulations Interactive (TSI) KS
You know, one of the problems of their campaign was also incoming Pillars of Eternity, Bloodborne, Final Fantasy Type Zero. Lot of people are burned out of money this march. I bet if they would start this campaign with same info few weeks later, they would get more pledges.- Steam vs GoG redemption ?
Mamoulian War replied to endruwiggin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)GoG support in this case sends the link to the missing patch by e-mail, if you ask them nicely.- Keys ? When ?
Here, have this, while you waiting for the keys.- Keys ? When ?
OMG, where is this world going to, when even the Rick Roll is regional locked out of some countries...- Steam vs GoG redemption ?
Mamoulian War replied to endruwiggin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)GoG all the way. You'll get autoupdate on GoG sooner or later with GoG galaxy. For me, autoupdate is something I loathe a lot. Especially if you have to wait hour or two for few gigabytes big patch instead of playing the game right away. At least PS3 allows you to skip the update if you want to play singleplayer.- Keys ? When ?
The game will be another download. Beta will not be updated to full game afaik.- Keys ? When ?
Then go watch something else. I bet some nekkid b00biez can make you feel at least little bit less pissed and more relaxed- Keys ? When ?
Whenever I read post like this, it make me laugh. I waited for another game like this, for almost 13 years. Few days more will not make me go berserk or anything, and of course if Obsidian will do another DRM free kickstarter with physical collector's edition, I'll throw my money at tham again and again and again! Keep up the good work guys!- Keys ? When ?
I think they changed it little bit after that Blog was published. All downloads will be available from the Products tab for backers.- These streamers are comically bad
Well, I've watched yesterday few seconds of PCgamer stream and Escapist stream on Twitch, and I was not very impressed by what I have seen. Actually the Escapist one was more "professional" and the guy tried to kite a little bit, but still it looked mostly like Zerg tactics There was one more guy with beard, who played the game like he knew, what he was doing, but I rather turned off the stream, so I will not spoil much game for me.- Pillars of Eternity has now entered the top sellers chart on Steam!
Look, I install software one way: via a package manager. Does GOG package their games for AUR or have a repository? Because if so I'll switch from the Steam package manager. If I have to unzip some tarball manually—forget about it. Lot of games are available as .deb packages. Other games which I own and have linux download are in tarball archive. I have only 30 games on GoG, and not all of them are available for linux.- Pillars of Eternity has now entered the top sellers chart on Steam!
If you do not know, the boxed copy is Steam only unfortunately. That's why I am now very happy, that I backed this game and I get DRM-Free box.- Pillars of Eternity has now entered the top sellers chart on Steam!
As much as I would like to see that, I do not think it's a chance for all these edition beat Witcher 3- Serious first world problems: How do you name your Characters?
Well, I almost always make my first character as spellcaster and call him Mamoulian or Mamoulian Greyhair. I don't think it will be different this time. Long time ago when I played BG for the first time, my main was called Hades Greyhair, but it pretty sucked in the end. That name did not fit the setting at all so I just started to use name Mamoulian I have few more names in sleeves, but unfortunately this game lacks Half-Orcs and Gnomes as playable characters and I do not think these names might be very fitting for the races But for follow up playthrough, I already see my Coastal Aumaua Paladin named Bubble - RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
