  1. Anyone picked it up? I am still thinking about buying it or not, so any recommendations would be much appreciated.
  2. Oooh, visual novel dating sim with orcs!!! *drools*
  3. w00t w00t w00t http://www.gog.com/news/release_double_dragon_trilogy :aiee: EDIT: and one more thing which should not be lost in the text: Thanks to the cross-play feature of GOG Galaxy, GOG.com gamers are now able to double up for a beat down with their Steam friends and frenemies. This is awesome to read, if this will be feature of Galaxy for all games after it gets into full release, it is an awesome news!!!
  4. Doesn't Slitherine own the 40K license now?
  5. I look at a game like DA2, and I think it is a terrible game with very few redeeming qualities. I look at a game like Mass Effect 1, and I see a game that I could never enjoy but looks generally decent, with some things construable as strengths. Same with KOTOR. And if we want to talk about the Codex, or any other hypothetical group of 'Bio haters', I think you'd find that many of them individually have different opinions. Some of them even seem to write off BG series, while others clearly like Bio games enough to buy and play them. Now if you want to talk details about why I or anyone else might consider any of these games, we can! We can talk about the single player MMO grind combat of DA:I, the quest writing behind DA2, the screensaver combat of KOTOR, the Four MacGuffins of NWN1... obviously, I didn't feel the need to write a book about it in this thread. Doesn't mean you can say "hey, you clearly are a Biohater who has no evidence for his opinion." (There is another assumption running through your response, which is that games which millions of people buy and play could not possibly be terrible. Well, I can see why people would go with that. I don't subscribe to it. We're all capable of enjoying terrible things, whether in the realm of popular culture or in more serious realms of violence, racism, whatever.) Basically my point is simple. Why do some people say harsh things about a game, or a line of games, or a company that makes those games? The most likely answer: they really don't like those games. They really did not enjoy those games, and/or they think the games are objectively terrible. If we want to dispute those judgments, sure, that's why we come to these forums. If we want to sit there and say "oh those people don't count, they just hate Bioware because of what happened 10 years ago" or "oh those people just hate Bio games for no reason", well... I'm sure that's true for some people, but I find that a rather irrational and unreasonable stance. Tigranes let me ask you a different question because you a reasonable person who I believe who will ruminate on the question and then answer honestly This dislike of Bioware I understand can be perfectly justified for some people, but how much of this dislike do you think is really motivated by the fact that Bioware has been one of the first companies to challenge traditional gaming "norms" and be really inclusive for their fanbase So in other words they have gay characters and optional gay Romance options. Do you not think this is another factor to the whole fall of Bioware in the eyes of some of the previous fans? I doubt people would admit this but I believe this is a contributing reason? You could have gay/lesbian marriage already in Fallout 2 and a "romance/relationship" in ToEE as well, long before Bioware. And I do not see anyone hating on these two games for that reason. Saying that people are hating on Bioware only because they are homophobes is imo kind of naive...
  6. I prefer this one
  7. I am playing Gran Turismo 6 now and then, finally found a good online community, the only problem is, that I am really far behind the best of them But the racing is really fun. In the meanwhile I am still playing Star Ocean 4. Just got 99,999 hits battle trophy for edge few days ago and getting close to 30,000 kills battle trophy with him. ~3600 kills to go. And started to play again Shadowrun Returns on Hard difficulty. This time with Dwarf melee brute, with almost all karma put into Strength and Close Combat. The Pommel attack combined with Haste buff from Shaman is really overpowered O.o
  8. OK, I think this thread needs a little bit of digging out of the grave and blow of the dirt and settled dust. So, except the amazing Wasteland 2, Divinity: Original Sin, Dead State and Shadowrun: Dragonfall, what are the other kickstarter games, that were released after august 2013 and requires our full attention?
  9. Yeah that is sad. The only good W40k game I have played is Chaos Gate, the turn based strategy made by SSI. And it is really long time ago
  10. http://pathfinder.obsidian.net/ I think this answers your question
  11. I would love to see that too, but all I can see now is another mindless generic shooter with "RPG" Elements and ****loads Michael Bay XplushnZTM to cover the crap plot.
  12. Can't wait to get my hands on this as well!
  13. You are going by the literal, 50%+1 definition of "mostly", right? I haven't played DAI, but from what I've read, it doesn't really deliver on promises made, it's buggy as hell (a hallmark of Bioware products) and the PC controls aren't very good. This doesn't necessarily make it a bad game, but nothing that "restores faith", whatever that means. I'll get around to playing it if I see a good bargain or in a few years, and I'll probably like it enough to finish it, much like every other Bio game, except JE. However, I reserve my worship and faith for stuff that is actually important in my life, such as peanut butter and bacon sandwiches. My guess is half of those negative reviewers are people who haven't even played the game, they just automatically default to hating all things Bioware. At least that would fit the trend we are seeing on these forums. I can play that game as well: My guess is half of those positive reviewers are people who are paid by EA, they just do what their exec told them too
  14. Man I wish I could see such writing for intelligent-like-a-brick characters in modern games...
  15. That's blatant lies. My grandmom still cooks as fantastic as 25 years ago...
  16. And they will probably be far too much for my poor old pc to handle... If it is anything like GTA IV at release, they will be probably far to much for any PC to handle...
  17. Fairy Fencer F for PS3 month ago. And tomorrow I will pick up Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix. I actually purchased 7 physical games this year all for full price at release day or shortly after. Would buy them more, but my job does not allow me to spent so much time on all the games I like. I am buying digital games only after they hit the price under 5USD. And only bought 2 games this year which were worth that price (Shadowrun Returns and Wasteland 1).
  18. I rather take game which has last years technology with last years gameplay, than to get game which has today's technology and get bored to hell with today's gameplay... Video games have progressed in 16 years. Even Pillars knows this. Unfortunately most of them progressed into boring snorefest. We are lucky that there are some indie developers who start to give us some quality for the first time after 10+ years.

  20. you only need an USB stick with CFW on it edit: and you have chance of bricking it only if you connect to the internet
  21. The only Far Cry I've managd to finish was the first one (twice). I doubt No 4 will be any different of the previous two (I already noticed "outposts", so..."meh") On another note, Gog has been awfully quiet about Galaxy, I guess that ain't happening this year after all. They probably bit off more than they could chew by attempting to go head to head with Steam. They are not quiet, they were testing the beta client last few weeks or even longer. You had to be participating in Witcher Adventure Game Beta or Alien vs. Predator Classic Beta. Ah, maybe I should use that invite I should have for the Witcher Adventure Game, or are they just testing the multiplayer component and are only those two games available right now? Or does access to the Adventure Game beta not automatically mean access to Galaxy beta? Either way I wish they'd give some more public info on their progress. I think you are right about the Witcher AG beta and galaxy beta, I do not know much more about it either, because I was only in AvP beta. And I was unable to beta test it much due to work obligations
