TBH, I have expected this to happen with F2P game in a such niche and hard to learn genre as FG, but still it is a shame. The graphics design of the game was really up to my liking. Although what killed the game for me was the Kernel 0 access for their anticheat. If they remove that in the final patch, I might actually start playing it with my wife.

Yeah, the first season is definitely the best. But watching the whole series after all these years, when I was disappointed so much by a few adaptations of franchises I liked as a youngling, it still feels refreshing to watch.

Seems highly implausible, but if (BIG IF) as an idTech enthusiast, he could search for and bought a "collectors vintage PC", from some company, who worked with idTech in the past, and which laid off half their staff, and ended up selling old **** without wiping clean their HDDs. Yes, I know sounds as implausible as the other theory, but this at least could make some sense PS: I am jealous of your 32°C 😭

More Tales of Hearts R in between work and vacation, I am about 15 hour in (maybe more) and slowly getting over my clumsiness with the controls :D I have defeated second big boss of the game and our party has grown up to 5 members. Story so far is decent, no issues with it's classical jRPG cheesiness, and some skits are pretty funny. Still there can be seen some issues with localization, which I've mentioned last time, but it felt less off between Boss nr.1 and 2.

Few years ago, I have bought second hand PS Vita TV, just to play Tales of Hearts R, just to be discouraged about the bad localization, and Vita TV having some stupid ass HDCP DRM which does not allow streaming the game (I solved the latter, still hate the former). This weekend I decided to give it another try. I got through my issues with localization, and slowly starting to get into the game, despite being clumsy playing it. You can feel, that the controls were made for handheld Vita, so there are some shortcomings when playing with the controller. Yesterday, I have defeated the first boss. Pretty easy and straightforward fight, he just hit like a truck. Anyway, I still have issues with the localization, despite not understanding Japanese. The worst culprits are, when the party talks for 20 or more seconds, but the English text is just few words. All other Tales games, even the older lower budget games tried as much as possible that this would not be a case, even though the localization was not 100% true to original. Not in this game... And this can ruin my immersion...

I will recommend you to check some let’s plays, after it gets released. I really do not remember the specific combat, as it is more than 20 years, when I played it. All I remember from that game is, that I pretty much liked it at that time, and I would swear, that it was turn based combat reactive to attacks opportunity. But as I said, after more than 20 years, my memory might be a little bit off.

As Humanoid said, it is a re-release with all bad stuff fixed. As far as I remember, the game got more hate than it deserved when it was released, mostly due to technical issues. It was the first D&D 3E game on the market, and it was turn based, I actually liked the way, how the combat and the movement around the battlefield was implemented, but I have never gone through more than few areas. If all the bug of the original build could be fixed, it might not be a bad game to pass time. Goal nr.5/2026 achieved: July 21, 17:45 – After short vacation, I've decided to play another game from Hero of the Kingdom series. Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 2 from GOG. This time, the hero was a princess. When compared to previous games, I put my enjoyment of it in between part III and Lost Tales 1. From start it was on the level of first Lost Tales, but soon, it slowly started to show its flaws. The quests seemed to me to have a little bit less of variety, and also I find the writing to be the weakest in the series so far. On the other hand, there was absolutely no grind, and I had to start shop runs for money only in the last hour of the game, after encountering the first undead. Up until then, the money and items, which I've found during the course of the game, were enough for moving forward through the story without any worry. So after 6 hours, I've unlocked all achievements and defeated another villain.

I had the same impression from the video as you. And as a long time player of PF/SF who uses Archives for a long time, and who had purchased a lot of stuff just to have it accessible on paper as well, I am more inclined to agree with him, that the removal of license from Archives might be contraproductive, as I feel the pain, every time, when I want to crossreferece all the stuff I need in my paper stuff, whenever I am not able to get online to search what I need on the Archives.
