  1. Def par for the course esp in W3. I like the idea of the initial part of the main quest not being super urgent but then it picking up. Like BG2 but I hear you, easier said that done.
  2. Because the best way to play this if you want to explore is to totally forgot about Eothos until you want to move the critical path along. It's a shame they couldn't come up with something creative like - you need to figure out/do something with the adra pillars. But alas knowing what they are is sufficient. Secondly, the game makes it seem like you need to build up a fleet...you don't. That could have been handled better, e.g. Eothos is bringing out all the water baddies plus you have to contend with the storm. And a final showdown with him if you want to stop him (how isn't this an option?) Plus the Gods are squabbling morons who add basically nothing but annoyance and curse/boom depending on choices. Could have been integrated much better. Maybe Rym sends his minions if you dont abide by his suggestion. Maybe there is an element of chaos between the Gods based on your choices- not round table therapy sessions. Lastly, no one else outside of the main quest seems concerned about Eothos. They could have tied most quests in much better. Even personal quests. But hey, Eder is still trying to get some action from an Ex, who's to say his priorities aren't in order?
  3. Dude I'm a casual player at this pt (34 with kids, good job) and I suspect I am in the targeted audience...and the game was piss easy. Only died in a few encounters. Now the game is more fun because there is a challenge. Next they need to comb through the dialogue.
  4. Looks very interesting but Duskfall not only has -recovery but also +crit damage which is so nice for a Rogue.
  5. Duskfall has got to be on here, and atleast one of the 19383718 sabres
  6. So Age of Decadence is worth it? I'm honestly pining for good dialogue at this point. The dialogue in POE2 is about 6/10 for me, barely passable because of the humor. The serious responses are 4/10 most of the time.
  7. I'm fine with it. They are supposed to be a formidable family. But sheesh if it isn't the absolute worst quest for dialogue! 'Oh hey what are you doing here? Wanna kill someone for us? Oh hey a new face, who are you?'
  8. The fight with Valera is MUCH harder with the new patch even on Veteran (with scaling). At level 6 I think I'm going to have to come back.
  9. They are abilities not spells. A smokebomb for a Rogue has been around since forever.
  10. With the 1.1 increase in difficulty my Rogue is getting Bloodied and or Flanked more consistently making Streetfighter even more viable (moreso as a multi imho) unless you really like walking the line
  11. Veteran feels just about right. I'm happy with the changes.
  12. It's a shame there isn't a more snarky response to Eders first complaint about Xoti...such as, "That's funny coming from the guy who still views Eothos from a childhood perspective."
  13. It is very odd he can be a Barbarian. Based on his character, Witch is the only sensible choice from a RP perspective imho. As another said Mindstalker really should be an option.
  14. Exactly why I haven't touched Chanters since my first POE1 playthrough. So much micromanagement and redundancy.
  15. Blind your team and use the small shield you get in Cave on one of the first islands. I had a ton of trouble too and I suspect it was bugs initially because not even drugs made me immune. Haven't tried since 1.1. It was the only area in the entire game to give me trouble at the time.
  16. Eh? It seems more like a continuation of the have-high-resolve-to-progress problem they created in POE1. Funny enough I went with high Resolve immediately in POE2 due to all those checks in the first...and only really saved me a few times. Oh well back to Perception for my Mindstalker
  17. Ok so replaying with 1.1 (and knowing more about the the preferred order)...it's a lot better. And I don't think it's a placebo effect of me wanting it to be better. For example, hit the Wild Mare and got a ton of banter with the team, banter I never heard in 45 hrs before. I suspected there were issues with triggers. Also, apparently I never got the Whispers of Yenwood pieces on the first playthrough despite my history, now I was able craft Whispers of Endless Paths which is perfect for a certain Paladin. And admittedly the Beraths Blessings add a bit more flavor and fun to the game. Plus Veteran is noticeably more difficult, but not so much so that it's inorganic. So overall glad to jump back in
  18. Soul Annihilation damage was basically cut in half. I don't agree that they are now in "avoid" territory though, as soulblade with draining whip mixed with pretty much any martial class is still going to be a very effective damage dealer. I think the issue is more that for any situation where you have 60 focus to cast disintegration/amplified wave or use soul annihilation, you're probably better off using disintegration. For an ability that is supposed to define the subclass, its not that great anymore. Well there is quite a bit of time before getting Disengration:p and it turns all loot to dust so I'm not gonna use it on everything.
