Quest Order

I tried to go Deadlight first but no Pirate ship was available so I just went to Nek. -
At least for me. In various sidequests and party banter, I swear I've gotten more party dialogue in 6 hrs on 1.2 than in my entire last 1.1 playthrough Family Pride comes to mind where Palli speaks her mind on a potential resolution, which adds a ton of context. However did experience a bug where emo Aloth wanted to have a discussion with but was cut off mid sentence. Anyone else having the similar experiences?

I think there is a wider disparity between companion quality that the first...but it's interesting when you compare personality vs. ability. For example, Pal is annoying but her class combinations are quite strong. Serafan I thought was really well written (I'm pro-Orlan bias) but as a party member I consider him low tier. Now, Xioti is a really interesting character. I run her pure Priest every playthrough (because of RP) and she gets pretty strong once you reach the 7th level spells. But also well written, easy to write off initially, but her dilemna is one worthy of pause. Eder, still Eder mostly. Dude doesn't die :D Admittedly, Konstentan is my fav char. Doesn't talk much. Is an absolute BEAST in combat and laughs hysterically when tearing through enemies. As a Barb he makes sense for a all merc missions, but especially good in wilderness missions with his +25% dmg to Wilders perk. Barb is my second favorite class behind Rogue. With a few items you can outfit him with some seriouslone wolf perks and then you get Heart if Fury and BOOM. Aloth is emo but provides damage and utility with Wizard/Rogue combos. Lastly, Tekehu doesn't quite reach his potential as a char imho but it's hard to argue how great of a teammate he is. Foe only AoEs is insane and his Shark form is great.

My suggestion after two playthroughs is to (unfortunately) not explore freely but rather focus on the quests at hand and complete them prior to the next story mission. The game gets super buggy if you happen upon something without having a mission for it, or if you put it off until after the next story mission. -

I think a mistake was making the system so transparent. It's less organic. It's good in theory but the execution fails. Also they should have thought about the "cheat" of not having companions in your party when performing certain dubious acts. Hell, the entire Neketaka knows you're the Watcher, Herald of Berath, but companion X doesn't know you completely betrayed their faction because they were on shore leave, playing Orlan's Head on the boat? -
It's not just the urgency of the main quest...its the horrendous integration of sidequests and continuity in the open world. Let's say you're on your first playthrough and do Ashen Maw before the Last Sanctuary. Well isn't a little ridiculous that the Prince says "we are one step closer to finding Ukaizo!" When you literally just told the Queen and the peanut gallery it's past Ondra's Mortar and I will take them there? You think on of the main faction quests with direct ties to the end of the game would have some reactivity. Oh did I mention the slaughter at Brass Citadel...but no one cares? Not the Queen, not even the RDVC themselves as I didn't take a hit to overall rep. Such is the risk with open world. Ask anyone who found the Observatory before talking to Arkemyr, one of the most bugged quests in the game. You can't even finish it if you do it out of order. Now do that quest later after all you find out and let me know how silly you sound feigning ignorance to the Circle. It's a huge undertaking to do open world and I think the decision to do full VA is counter productive. Plus the squabbling Gods is top tier cringy but I won't get into that. I'd love to see them implement a non epic main story like the above poster suggested that *could* turn into something epic. Imagine that sort of freedom.

I'm still enjoying the game, esp all the class and party combinations, but I don't think I've played an RPG that is this fun but fails this miserably with continuity lol. For example, any out of order questing done with the Huana Ukaizo map quest or Arkemyr quest in relation to finding out Ukaizo is past Ondra's Mortar will make you scream at the dialogue not updating. Oh well I'll chalk it up to their first psuedo open world try.

If it helps you head cannon, you could reason she has ulterior motives...but yes it's too fast. I don't like loose women -
RDC...w.t.f (Spoilers)

Yeah very frustrating. Not gonna recruit Maia anymore:p -
Replaying from my other thread you posted in I think this is a grevious error. To have Maia not respond or attack you initially, and then her leaving is bugged...it kills this playthrough. So for my final third playthrough I'm going to do the quests but side with Huana because the rest are mad out of their minds ha.
