Again? Okay, actually I heard about this earlier, so not surprised. I just remember the time before when he was talking about leaving to start a social networking site that never appeared.

You recall correctly. If you did his quest, ME2 assumes a renegade resolution. If you didn't, then he doesn't show up. Genesis goes with the former.

Got my Mass Effect 2 PS3 installed and gave it a whirl long enough to see if it's noticeably different from when I played on PC. It's clearly using a lower resolution with more aliasing. They might be using better shadow settings than I did. None of that's a problem. Having to go to the power wheel a little more often is annoying, especially for weapon switching. The Genesis comic is kind of awkward. Like all the girls are thrusting out their boobs or butt. It's like a real comic book! Ashley has these pouty lips in it. It skips over Shepard being grounedd and lots of minor things. I wonder if the fanboy character I forget the name of will even show up now or the green Asari from Novaria. When the team assaults the Citadel at the end, it's got an image of Tali and Garrus both of them dual wielding pistols to shoot at husks (I don't even remember husks in that part). Garrus is spread eagle flying through the air getting headshots. It's ridiculous. An ultra minor but neat thing is because of this, Miranda doesn't bother asking about the council. But also because it's placed after Shepard's death, they won't bring up saving the council in the intro conversation and Liara is always the squadmate with you aboard the SR1. I hear everything but Liara is fixed if you do an import. Edit: Looking around the minor choices like Conrad Verner aren't set. That stinks.

A full three of them aren't Star Wars.

Lucasfilm wave II is up! Includes local favorite KOTOR 2. GOG is hinting at a third wave in 48 hours.

Borderlands: Handsome Collection announced. You might know it from the ESRB rating a short ways back. Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel + DLC. I'm looking forward to this, only got up to Torque in BL2 and never played PS.

Careful Tale, your prejudice is showing. *zip* Oh man, that would have been embarrassing.

End of old thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/69951-11-people-killed-at-a-french-satirical-newspaper/page-27 Let's try not to have this be yet another of the countless "the forum argues about glorious Russia" threads. I won't stop you, I just find it dull and repetitive.

Past 500, new thread going up shortly. Up now: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70103-charlie-hebdo-the-aftermath/

I wish my compy hadn't died, I was trying to play of Orcs and Men back in the day. Might have to see how cheap I can get it for PS3. Edit: $49.99 to buy the download for PS3 through Gamestop. $19.99 to buy it through PSN. That's some bad pricing. Edit2: Since I started checking the PSN store, I bought Of Orcs and Men, pre-ordered Grim Fandango, and

Did it get so much? I don't remember this. Besides, the gameplay is actually very solid (no pun intended). It's just that it has so, so many hours of video stuff to watch. It is a very detailed game, but some things could have been cut... From the videos. I give it a firm kicking and stand by that. It jumps around too much. It has solid mechanics, but the gameplay sections feel so short that you're done with them before you feel you've really explored the systems.

You really haven't met a proper SJW then. It's an apt term for them, mostly types that fit into the "just found God" zealot stereotype. Zealots gonna... zeal? No, that lacks the punch. There's an abundance of people who take their single issue of focus and apply it to everything to the extreme. Whether we're talking about skeletons reminding you of the patriarchal nature of the car gear shift or libertarians telling you how the free market will solve the problem of cat allergies.

Doesn't Slitherine own the 40K license now? No, they just have a license.
-
THQ had a license for 40K exclusivity, not fantasy. And that license just died with THQ. Now there's no exclusivity on 40K, but no rumors of deals either.

I'm thinking about starting a blog for game reviews with a gimmick. A simple one like only focusing on story elements and revisiting knee-jerk excited reviews with calmer digested reviews. So I've been looking around at blogging setups trying to find out if I want to buy a domain. I had a lot of fun with my blog back in college, where I reviewed movies with the gimmick of comparing them to my own life. Saving Private Ryan got 5 stars because at least I'm not in World War 2. A Beautiful Mind only got 1 star because despite his terrible pickup lines, he manages to snag Jennifer Connelly. The jerk. This is probably a terrible idea I'll abandon before I get a name figured out.

Got a strange messge from a friend's steam account
Tale replied to Arcoss's topic in Computer and Console
I almost never add anyone if I don't know who they are. So if I get an invite, the first thing to check is if we have friends in common. I'd like to be more inclusive than that, but every now and then I'll add some stranger thinking to be nice and make new friends. I promptly get spammed as a result. I'm talking about the guy adding you me and some others as friend on these boards. I can't even decline a friend request. Oh, these boards. I thought you were talking about Steam. Nobody ever adds me on these boards. -

Was that Monte? I got the PM too and just replied back with "who is this, what is this?" -
Holy Smoke, that would have completely frustrated me. How many hours did you spend playing the game to the point of the crash? I don't know how many hours. But I do know that I decided to see if I could salvage something by playing around with it. I loaded up the save, told it to restart the level, hoping I could at least salvage the weapon upgrades. Instead I lost the save file too when it crashed again at the same point. Good news is that the game is designed for at least two playthroughs. So I'm doing Wyatt timeline and seeing what's different. Since the crash was reproducible, I've reinstalled it and the update. I can't recall there being any difference between the two timelines, other than the "special" skill each teaches you. Story-wise, I can't remember anything noticeable other than whatever cutscenes you have with that specific character. Health upgrades vs. armor upgrades. Lockpicking vs hotwiring (you mentioned) opens up a few different areas. Tekla vs J. Cosmetic for the most part, but still interesting to find new shortcuts every couple of levels.

I binged my way through Wolfenstein, collecting upgrades, enigma codes, unlocking every perk except most of the explosion ones. Then right at the final boss, the game crashes and messes up my profile file. I fight the final boss on the I AM DEATH INCARNATE difficulty with nothing. And there's no way to get it back other than starting over. I can't even use chapter select.

PSN can't decide if I have a good connection or crap connection and it's making me annoyed. Wolfenstein has a 5 gig update to download. It starts, it tells me 2 hours. That's far too long for my connection, but I figure whatever. I check an hour later, now it tells me 5 hours after downloading a gig. That's getting ridiculous. Two hours later it get a gig and a half and is telling me 6 hours! Turning it off and back on gets me some good data speed for a while, getting .3 gigs in a minute. But now it's slowing down again. HAlf an hour left, supposedly, but climbing.

X:Men Days of Future Past Third time I've watched it, still tear up at the ending.
