  1. Killed the Vinsomer by dropping my level 3 focus abilities on its head and might offense potions. It died before I knew it. Then killed the Hivernal the normal boring way. Enough Dragon bone that I just need to get some Fade Touched Silverite and I'll build myself the last sword I'll ever need.
  2. If you have done all you want of Hinterlands and Storm Coast, I suggest picking up quest Varric clues you in on. That'll take you to Crestwood and Western Approach at least. You can decide what to do next from there.
  3. It is hard to keep people engaged in things that are not action packed, I think that the indies are the ones that have embraced the genre in a way that isn't violent. I think we can have action packed and still at least try. Zone of the Enders 2 tried a bit. Metal Gear Solid 2 could be argued to as well. Deus Ex. I think what Deus Ex 2 tried with the ending is worth appreciating. So I've kind of proven my "nobody" wrong. Let's modify that to "nobody right now" and certainly "not enough."
  4. Two Steps From Hell I could link them almost all day.
  5. 16? In earlier areas it's like 8. When I hit Emprise if there's a Wraith wave there's lots of numbers, easily in that range, but if it's Greater Terrors, there's only 3 per wave. I think I got a 2xPride + 1 Rage once, too. Wraith waves are the most dangerous in the game. This is true of all ranged attackers really, but wraith especially. They're immune to the chain! If you can't get them all in one spot, it's hard for the tank to control. So they'll just be picking off the party.
  6. Playing Dragon Age: Inquisition, but the Shadow of Mordor DLC is supposed to come out today and I might take a break for that. On the other hand, I am almost done with my first playthrough of DAI...
  7. Genres tend to fall in and out of favor, having a big hit is a factor in this. It wasn't long ago that you couldn't get a horror novel published unless you were Stephen King. You don't want to know what novel broke that trend and got publishers to start buying again. That's why it's important to keep an eye on the market and have a diverse portfolio. You can't afford to bank on being the one to break the trend, but once it does break, if it's in your wheelhouse, you need to be ready.
  8. When games start doing science fiction that's not military space opera, I'll see this as a possibility. Nobody's going for the high ideas of science fiction in the game space. We're getting dogfights and shooting evil aliens. Games still have a way to mature and diversify.
  9. Because I'm not inclined to believe the narrative you have conjured up where games journalists are exclusively responsible for all the things you dislike in gaming. Sometimes a company simply does things people don't approve of for their own reasons. Sometimes they're listening to an audience that's not you. It's a complex matter that doesn't boil down to your ridiculous bugbears. Valve itself has been a fairly upstanding company and if they state a reason, there's no reason to start second guessing them just to make the entire world fit in your little box.
  10. Why is it impossible for Valve to deny something simply because they don't want it on Steam?
  11. I hope you're not seriously comparing a Bioware romance scene to youporn. People other than you are capable of having their own opinions. This includes Valve.
  12. They just did exactly that. The game ranked #7 was banned and it was done in anticipation of bad press. The game was ranked #7 by people who'd never played it. And it was banned because Valve themselves chose to do it, by their own statements, not because of press.
  13. The question looks daft to those of us not indulging in the "skeleton journalists are controlling popular opinion" conspiracies.
  14. Netflix doesn't have greenlight. Human Centipede 2 is distributed by IFC in the US, which is owned by AMC. If Hatred had a publisher, then it would probably be a different situation. After Hatred releases and if it gets positive reception, I'd expect them to change their stance. Subject matter or not.
  15. People have been complaining about the lack of curation for quite a while. It's a pretty common annoyance with Greenlight. I'd be surprised if there was an outlet that hadn't covered it already. TB talks about it constantly.
  16. Guardians of the Galaxy is what I felt Avengers should have been. They grow as a team!
  17. The Vinsomer is aggravating me a tad. I'm a level above it and I can only get it mostly down before my party starts running out of potions. Though I did grab everyone's Focus abilities once I realized Focus isn't a shared resource. This might turn the tide. Eat four level threes!
  18. I've only got Hissing Wastes and Emprise du Lion to beat still. The only substantial complaint I have is that there's not enough main quest content to justify all the side quest content. Or maybe these major side areas like Hissing Wastes and Exalted Plains needed more dramatic quest arcs. Because you beat it and then you're still not sure what happened. I would have traded it for one more main story sequence with the villain. Then they could have locked more areas behind quest progression and tiered them that way, shifted around levels. Given it more structure. Still, I'm adoring the game to death. My game of the year. It has optional dungeons! Even Dragon Age: Origins didn't have optional dungeons. They have puzzles!
  19. That's exactly what it is. I enjoy cooking, but I don't have time for it in the morning and lunch. Which ends up with me skipping breakfast and doing fast food for lunch. The other benefit I forsee is that when I'm in the groove for writing, I don't need to stop and cook, I can just pour a cup.
  20. No, because that's at least on topic of what you're supposed to be about. And they've done some truly ****ty stuff. Like the times they contributed to the leak of celebrity nudes, which wasn't even all that long ago. But going after game developers for petty slights, denying harassment, doxing, and the other disgusting things you enable, you deserve to be called out for it. By the same token you don't get to define Gamergate. Actions are more defining than stated goals. Being an amorphous blob isn't a shield from criticism. I've taken no issue with you, TrueNeutral. Your movement signal boosts some truly terrible crap. And the worst I can level at you is being willfully ignorant of it in favor of pursuing some respectable goals. We all make that mistake from tiem to time. I probably spent too much time in Retake despite the people using it just to hurl insults at Bioware on a personal level. But in the evaluation of ends and means, I'm ultimately not liking it.
  21. Then why, 4 months later, is she the top topic on KiA? Because code attribution (that's up right now, at least) is the most important issue in games journalism?
  22. And now look what I found. http://www.quinnspiracy.com/clone/ The attribution is at the bottom. So has the problem been solved or was it always there? Simple mistake or campaign of misinformation by an online mob against a woman they've been targetting for, what, 4 months now? Does it still make sense to want to cover? Because that's the line you're looking at.
  23. Jacque had two really cool things going for him. Throwing back your own words/choices and the twist. Neither really made me compelled by the character. But the design! It's simply brilliant. The villains motivations are shaped by the player.
  24. Had my first meal of soylent and I know you care because I got a bunch of likes on the post where I mentioned I got it. Not completely terrible. Modest taste of wet peanuts. I had intended to go for a two week all soylent challenge, but I've got too much stuff in the cupboard to use up. So I'm going to be doing lunch and breakfast only, stretching it out to 4 weeks.
  25. One post about someone your movement talks about so much you had to come up with a codename for her.
