I think I saw that joke too.

I'm going to need evidence for either of those claims. I came to a very sad realization today. In the distant annuls of a few months ago, something truly despicable happened. And I hope we can all agree that's what happened. Several women were harrased and sent death threats. It was a big thing, I think we all remember it. The talk dominated much of the game discussion. There were very loud people who even sought to justify it. A few people decided that things should not really be going down that path. That being a gamer doesn't have to be about that. That we all have a responsibility to put an end to it. That developers, the tech industry, and we the consumers should not tolerate a voice of hate being the loudest in the room and allowing them to tarnish the reputation we have as a whole. And instead of trying to be better, which is what we should have all moved to do, some people double downed on that behavior. They were offended that anyone call into questions the culture or ask them to do anything. They tried to marginalize people who asked us to be better. There were accused of immorally conspiring to ask us to have better standards. It's just so disappointing.

I've heard it's like what a Kubrick Fantastic Four would be. Is that accurate? No. It's really not comparable to 2001 other than they are both movies set in space. The plot, ambiance, characters, pretty much everything is different. It is it's own movie. Comparing the two is like comparing 'Django Unchained' and 'The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly'. I have to compare the two. It's takes on a more optimistic tone, but that's a good thing. I think it addresses the same philosophical questions about human advancement and its possibilities. But where 2001 could be interpreted as the discarding of tools, this one seemed to embrace them.

So its really so good? I was afraid of too much melodrama and political messages but maybe I will reconsider trip to cinema then.. I saw it too, loved it. It's trying to be a new 2001: A Space Odyssey. And in some ways it did more than succeed, good ways.

I see a distinction between hyperbole and jokes. But it's still tasteless.

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition Announced

I've tried playing IWD several times before and this is the first time I've really gotten anyway. I love the zoom function, there's nothing more to it than that. It was so freaking cramped before. -
I wonder if it's to do with Valve's DLC policy that also got EA games removed.

I hope the last gen versions of Mordor are good. But it cames out same time as DAI and, if DAI turns out good, it'll be the priority.

The trailer does lack the emotional impact of "can you promise I will come back?" Only thing I dislike about the other two is the drawn out action sequences. This one features a war, so I'm a bit worried. But I don't think it'll make me hate the entire thing.

Side? I am on nobody's side, because nobody is on my side, little orc.

Closer to Lewis Carrol's Alice.

I should start collecting these.

Here's the thing about it, TrueNeutral. It's not organized. It can't be about any one thing by virtue of that. It's own impetus was built on deception and with that gone, there's nothing that can even pretend to keep it on any singular track. There's not a solid objective or plan. It's all left to be vague and whatever someone wants to make of it. It's about as many people putting down tentstakes as feel like doing it. And they all count as part of it. And some of those people are using it as a platform to be disgusting animals. You want to rise up your own corner of it as being something serious, you want to lay claim to the TRUE GAMERSGATE, you can't just tell everyone else that it's their fault that the disgusting animals are there too. You have to kick those other guys out. Nobody will take talk of ethics seriously from a movement where large swaths of it clearly have none. And the focus on two indies sure as heck isn't going to get it taken seriously either. That just makes it look like directionless angst. You say people are afraid to tackle the big guys because they're too disillusioned. Well, picking on the little guys because you're afraid of someone larger isn't called revolution or change, it's called bullying. I don't think that's in line with the message you're trying to be about either.

A mix of everything other than the President. From local jurisdiction representatives to Senators.

I'm hoping the opposite. I'm with Plinkett on this, the lightsabers should have had more variety and character. They should have represented the pecularities of the races and the characters wielding them. Luke, Vader, Kenobi can all have their similarity justified in being teacher/pupil relationship. But everyone else needs to have theirs say something about the character. I don't see how laser hilts say something about this character, but maybe he can do something interesting with it.

Because it's largely not organized. It's targets of opportunity from bottom feeders, not grand conspiracy. Employees at larger companies don't have as much invested in social media presence. For indie developers, they have to engage with it, it's their PR and marketing system. For those in studios, it's someone else's job. Some else who probably has the training to ignore it. The same argument could be leveled against the idea of it being about ethics. Why are two unknown indie developers somehow the root of bad ethics? Especially when the basis of one of the ethics claims was demonstrably false? Why not the large companies and unethical journalists?

I decided to venture into this thread a little today against my better judgement and was delighted by what I saw. Trashman talking about fighting against imaginary monsters. And then I remembered something, I have a fun little plugin installed. Guess what it does? Even when I realized this, my interpretation of this angle of the debate is unchanged. Tilting at windmills.

Had a truck driver screw us over by not answering his phone over the weekend. He shows up 4 hours earlier than we need him, waits around, then decides he's too tired to do the drive and that he totally didn't know a 7 hour transit each way job required a layover. Panicked over that, eventually called another company at 3 o clock, had another driver lined up in an hour. Every day is a crisis day at this job.

I've been wasting time in Fable 3, trying to level up weapons. One of my three wives died to a Balverine attack. Never set up one of your franchises in Millifields. Interestingly, when the spouse dies, your kid is declared an orphan. So when I adopted him he ended up counting twice and aged rapidly. I'm disappointed that his nanny is a man, because I still need to upgrade the love sword and that's a delicious cliche I could not pass up. Poor kid was intended to live in the castle, I was going to move his mother when the Balverine attacked. But since Elise gave me two, won't take care of him, and he's a technical orphan, it's off to the Industrial district and child labor for him. But he gets to live in a nice house featuring a giant painting of the stepmother who will never let him live in her home. Because houses that take large paintings are rare.

As was I.

There is or were a few bugs where companions could die regardless.

Just started Icewind Dale EE. And then restarted when I decided I don't really need 25 points per level on my thief, I'd rather have an assassin.

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition Announced
Tale replied to CoM_Solaufein's topic in Computer and Console
It seems easier so far. By which I mean that the first group of Goblins didn't instantkill any of my characters this time around. I'm fine with that if it means I can have a Sorcerer, Assassin, and Berserker Halfling in the party. The Cavalier and Priest of Tyr are just icing. -
I'm pretty well classified as a bleeding heart liberal, but that's not something I can be outraged by. Police should take any threat with a weapon seriously. And you'd be surprised how fast someone can charge at you while under fire. They gave him lots of opportunity to disarm and whatever else their commands were. The thing I'm seeing there is a failure in our mental health care and overall health care systems.
