I bound the plate then after defeating the _______ and dropping into the __________. I equipped a few regen items and stood in the path of the recurring wind traps (they frighten). Then I went and got a snack, came back to fully leveled guardian's plate. EDIT: I tested applying afflictions using a rogue in the group and it didnt up the count

Other option ideas: Option 1: Be a mountain dwarf (con) + boots of the stone (mig) + bridal garter (dex) + horns (Res)+ Devil of caroc (int) and you will have all resists other than perception. This allows you to kick on heating up with an opening shot from a blunderbuss w/ modal from stealth for the low recovery time of switching to your prefered melee weapon and charging in. Option 2: Buffer with AI set to cast intel inspiration when you are affected by intel affliction. Potion of the focused mind can't be used because you will make yourself immune to flanking and be stuck with the speed debuff.

Same. I just ended up starting to grab the most hull and sails hps I could, then always close and board. made the encounter(s) so much faster. The only time it got even a bit stressful was when you had 2-3 enemy ships right on top of each other and had to do one after the other with no repair time.

Maybe, but a nice build has been up since mid July on Fextralife and I have just tweaked the details for me and am just about to try it out. So, I hope not! https://fextralife.com/pillars-of-eternity-2-deadfire-builds-guide-sage/ -T That build already got a nerf. Shattered Pillar only gains wounds from auto attacks now. So most of the spamming is gone (But it is still pretty great when all is said and done).

By far the most challenging for me has been the Ravager. The funniest was the Drunken master (making your enemies stop and puke is hilarious). Now I'm trying to make big booms/mass slaughter Just started testing: 1. Fighter/Monk (both vanilla). Goal of: Heaven's Cacophony+aoe weapon+mobstance+heartbeat drumming+swift flurry+flagellent's path= lightning storm crazyness. 2. Ranger(stalker). Goal of: double spear Mohora Tanga + stalker's patience and stacking stealth and survival. (killer ST dps; once you get PL8 though...whirling blades). Still tweaking: 1. Fire Godlike, Priest of Magran/Paladin Bleakwalker. Fire and more fire. Explosion!

Out of 4 playthroughs I've only found them once. I'm going to stop planning to use them in builds until I figure out where they are again, or a trick to get them if they are random. Edit: I'm starting to wonder if the one time I remember having them was a console test and I never found them in game

People say you can sneak it. I've never done it myself, and there doesn't appear to be a youtube video of it yet. I'm sure if you use spark-crackers, some invisibility skills/potions, and plenty of saves (as you figure out where all the traps are) it's doable relatively early (again, haven't tested it myself).

#use nemnok's cloak That doesn't help up to the point when you can get the cloak. It also doesn't fit in every build. (But I do use that on the ones that I want to fight @ blooded or worse.)

Pro of single build: Everyone of my min/max builds have monk or rogue in them. I'm sick of monks and rogues. Let's do something else More Power! Con of single build: You always have a few levels (sometimes more) where you feel like you are wasting ability points on things you don't use/need. Pro of multi-class: Better overall performance Con of multi-class: End up roflstomping everything.

Auto-pause on low health, and all Low health AI works even when health is hidden to you, the player. (Just make sure your second wind/potion action is #1 on your list and you make the AI follow list order). You're welcome.

The hammer's main ability is +5% damage per engagement and +1 engagement. Blackened plate is mainly for the +1 engagement (but the constant raw damage aura is fun too. Apex ward extra riposte is a major part of dps but if you were more interested in just tanking for others to dps then it wouldn't be as big a hit since other shields have + engagement too.

The best by far was a blunderbuss shadowdancer with 0 recovery armor. The few times things left to try and attack the nekkid gunman the overbearing guard disengagement+deathblow killed them good. But any AOE would kill crowds. The weakness of the class is Single Target dps so you'd want to cover that with another toon for the boss fights and rely on this guy to hold all the adds for you. I was thinking about toning down the potions and going for avenging storm scrolls.... but that isn't very thematic. Maybe I'll make Thor after my duel spears stalker.

I don't recall exactly. I think it was a burial mound, but it may have been a wreck. I haven't tested reloads. Is the seed set at creation or can you "re-roll" randoms w/ reloading? I got 3 regen belts before I even left the first isle on one game.

I may dump con and get more Int (for longer lasting effects) in later testing; this guy just doesn't get hit.

The Iron Hammer This dwarf calls upon his ancestors' spirits to aid him in battle. They surround their progeny while he fights, blurring his outline and confusing, or terrifying, his enemies. He fights defensively and outlasts his enemies by locking them down in engagement and picking his moment for devastating retaliatory attacks. He can engage what seems like a whole screen of enemies (and gets better the more he engages) and provides persistent distraction to the whole group, making them all flanked and open for deathblows (including his own ripostes). If you pair the Iron Hammer with any AoE Rogue, that opening salvo (if you wait for engagement) will be all deathblows. *Update notes: I tweaked quite a few abilities and changed the gear to reflect. I also tested a min/max version of the build (stats and gear changes, abilities stayed the same) and it worked amazing on just about all the fights I put it in. I also did some testing solo and it was just too annoyingly slow for me to continue, but he was able to defeat all of the encounters I tried (with cheese tactics like summons and invisibility resets). NOTE: I have now used this build for Eder and it worked amazingly. With some console testing: Dual wielding (BB+BB or BB+Pistol) Streetfighter base for the AoE deathblows. Shadowdancer (helwalker/streetfighter) a.k.a. "The Pink Mist Dancer". to 1.1 reload speed when dual wielding Fire in the hole and scordeo's trophy (before the attack speed procs) and it came with practically unlimited stunning surges (they refund cost when they crit) It felt like things died Very fast (swift strikes +street fighter = insane). Blunderbuss modal activated heating up AND the monk's crucible of suffering (+10 non deflection defenses) when it reapplied (removes first instance to put on a new instance procs the "when an effect expires" portion of CoS. Holy Slayer (Bleakwalker/Streetfighter) #1, if you take "clear head" you will not be able to use blunderbuss modal to heat up (resistance to perception attacks). Got reload speed down to 1.5. FoD and Eternal devotion is awesome with the +fire and corrosion + aoe sickness. Higher defenses, lower dps. Less movement options than shadowdancer. I prefer to use Debilitating strike over arterial strike for one reason, instead of kiting to drain them, my offhand hits with deathblows activated already from the double debuff on the mainhand and they just die instead. So opening with debilitating strike = full attack = 1 attack from stealth and 1 deathblow attack = pink mist AoE. Last point: fire in the hole and hand mortar are also Pierce/slash so you have less immune mobs to worry about (but still need scepters w/ crush for those occasional pierce and slash immune things).

Wander around in an alcohol and drug fueled stupor lulling your enemies into surrounding you then suddenly explode into motion. Dashes around smashing the enemy and stacks debuffs and start with the deathblows at as close to 0 recovery and attack as possible. Citation: This was inspired by Sin Tee’s Mirke build. Game Version: 1.2 Difficulty: PotD (+all Upscale, no mods) Solo: Untested Race: Human Class: Shadowdancer (Streetfighter/Nalpazca) Home: Deadfire Background: Hunter Stats: Mig 17 Con: 10 Dex: 19 Per: 18 Int: 10 Res: 4 Skills: Active: Alchemy Max Passive: your choice (no gear bonuses) Abilities (In suggested order of selection): Crippling Strike & Swift Strikes Escape Lesser Wounds Dirty Fighting & Two Weapon Style Blinding Strike Defensive roll (or fast runner) Debilitating Strike & Swift Flurry Confounding Blind Finishing Blow Snake Reflex & Thunderous Blows Duality of Mortal Presence Rooting Pain Deep Wounds & Uncanny Luck Devastating Blow Tough Improved Critical & Flagellant's Path Turning Wheel Enervating Blows Deathblows & Heartbeat Drumming Adept Evasion or Slippery Mind Gear: Pukestabber & Marux Amanth (unarmed for 2nd set) Fair Favor Precognition Miscreant's Leathers Chameleon's Touch Entonia Signet Ring Boots of Stone Girdle of Mortal Protection Gatecrashers Cloak of Greater Deflection: +7 Deflection Pet: Abraham (Dog): Reduce armor penalty for player (varies by type) & health on kill party effect. Or Nalvi (Dog): +1 resolve for player & Reduce recover Penalty for armor (varies by type) Party effect. Consumables: Vrer Chiora (Alcohol for Mad Drunk) Mouth Char Potion of Perfect Aim Potion of Ascension Potion of Spirit Shield Potion of Moderate Healing Edit: you could do the history + giftbearer's and change gatecrashers to bracers of deflection if you find yourself getting in trouble often, but the trick is to never stand still, get flanked then flagellants in and out of it while dumping 2 or 3 debilitating strikes at the speed of sound.

It's 15% of the burn damage *IT* does... so burn damage from other sources = no heals. It seems to do well with the combo of eternal devotion, Aefyllath, and Scion of Flame (or FOD spamming). (if you're a monk i think Turning wheel works too but I haven't tested that) It's still not tons of health but when you couple that with a ring of greater regen and/or other health on hit/kill items then the few points here and there start adding up to quite a bit of quick regen.
