  1. For #6 I'd personally go Ascended/Vanilla Rogue on the mindstalker if you are going to use a bow exclusively. Only go Streetfighter if you want to use hand mortars. Miscreant's leathers should be the armor you pick for a pure dps build I'd probably still go with Frostseeker (warbow) but using Veilpeircer (with disrupting arrow) on boss fights (it +Last word w/ silencing both being used on the same mob can shut. it. down. Edit: You don't "need" ascended but the PL bonus helps land things, since you have the willbreaker in your group though you may not need that and it would make sense to see if vanilla mindstalker works for you, which it very well might.
  2. You can do bow. The reason why I do the mortars is they are AoE so I can kill whole swaths in one or two attacks. The other thing is Mia is a special class that has bonuses for guns which is why I like to use her for that. Scout bow or mindstalker bow are both good choices. The later only if you just really need a controller, the former if you just want the dps.
  3. The AI builder lets all but an Ascendant Cipher pretty much able to be fire and forget. Full parties can win every encounter in the game "almost" 100% on AI (I don't like consumables or really high resource items on AI, doable but not efficient)
  4. If you are using the Iron Hammer as your tank I HIGHLY suggest a rogue DPS to take max advantage of that persistent distraction. -I personally preferred Mia (as a gunhawk Scout) with dual mortars and the red hand to take max advantage when you have masses of mobs or boss fights respectively. --Although the dual wield nerf may change my preference when I get back around to test this guy further But I've also run him with w/: -Single class vanilla rogue w/ dual mortars & effigy's husk perception immune + blunderbuss modal -Drunken Master (shadowdancer dagger build) -Shadowdancer blunderbuss But I would want something rogue to spam deathblows since my tank is setting the mobs up for them.
  5. I found tons of conversation differences based on my reputation differences between play-throughs. I did 1 play-through with a Bleak-walker multi and another with a kind wayfarer and there were plenty of aggressive/thug responses or benevolent/nice guy ones respectively.
  6. Looks like i'm going with a pro-principi run which suits me just fine since they are the only faction i haven't played through. What pairs best with Scordeo for max DPS? I think I'll start putting together a build and post it soon. I like the option to build it either with and Estoc or Sabers at this point. If you're not 100% firm w/ devoted Rust's Poignard is really good w/ scordeo's since nothing is immune to prone I also like the Magistrate's cudgel offhand when fighting kith If you are 100% for devoted (and thus want dual sabers) I personally like Tarn's or Beza's in offhand for the stacking deflection debuff or Ar debuff respectively
  7. I love the war hammers for their effects (and dual dmg type is automatic) Sabers would be the best dps though since base damage is what carnage is based on (and scordeo's enchants are hard to compete with)
  8. I would still dual wield. 1. The 2nd chance to apply a status 2. more bonuses on 2 weapons than 1 3. more effects on 2 weapons than 1 (e.g. last word +glacier bane = silenced mob + buff suppression, on a crit) 4. more carnage damage (carnage off each hand on full attack)
  9. Except there's nothing else worth taking at low level. The extra possible damage the few times you hit it is better than an extra weapon slot you will never use.
  10. I never went down w/ my ravager once I went and stealthed/bounding boots [cheesed] Nemnok's cloak at 10. BUT I didn't solo either so he had support (2x Salvation of time and some extra BDD from a super intel buffed Xoti).
  11. I can't believe no one said stalker / beckoner. I expected to see at least one. On topic. I'd suggest a fighter or paladin multiclassed with a dps class (melee or ranged as desired) for getting to know the game and mechanics. The Fanatic is my fav build right now. simple and powerful.
  12. Most of the gear can be gotten right after the 1st isle. Some require a set circumstance to grab early (e.g. high mechanics) Gear is easy once you know where it is. Ability synergies do come at specific power levels so any build that specifically relies on high power level abilities obviously will only work at high levels. However all the Barbarian multi-classes get frenzy right at 1, barbaric smash pretty early, and the rest get their main abilities early too. Sure clear out is really nice to use at higher levels but it's not make or break like frenzy is.
  13. LOl I just noticed I accidentally put a second brawler instead of the swashy in the order of completion. Edited now. Edit: I also think a little more optimization with the ravager might move it to faster than the Brute, but I had to spend (waste) time on heals/damage mitigation to keep him alive which impacted a few attack cycles.
  14. -I agree that PD is powerful but Eder can provide the PD, so no need to double up on that. -I also agree that having a set test with a set encounter with set gear and just changing classes and builds does not provide a complete picture for ever encounter where one might outperform another. --But in order to provide a data set you need to provide controls. In this case: same levels, same enemies, same difficulty, same gear, just different builds. -Something to keep in mind is this wasn't meant to be a MIN/max test anyways. It was a play-style test to see which build fit into OP's plan to make a Euron Greyjoy type character using the LDV. --With the controls in place the order of speed of completion was: Marauder, Brute, Ravager, Brawler, Fanatic (No Immolation), Swashbuckler, Holy slayer Gear notes: -AS is available at level 3-4. -Deltro's Cage is available about the same time and conductive storm isn't very hard to get on it. -With the brute you can use any armor due to armored grace+pet+intuitive strikes+frenzy (I.S. stopping confused). -That said; I tested both armor choices. -In the vid I posted I was wearing the DOC armor because I found the 4 resources provided much more DPS than extra few damage points from the electric attacks.
  15. No you are chosing to build around a cool effect. Just like all the other theme builds. I really enjoyed all of them but when I ask myself, which out of each option felt the most brutal the top two were Marauder and Brute.
  16. changing the weapon is out of the question. That is the base being built around. I found the opposite in my testing. I found the brawler build more mobile/fun but took a while to kill everything. Brute and marauder did massive kills very fast. Swashbuckler did great (both trickster and streetfighter) but not as fast as the other tested builds. I linked some vids in one of OPs other posts. The brute cleared floor one of VTC solo within a signal duration of unbending. I have tested all this so I'm speaking from that position not supposition based on paper.
  17. I just consoled your suicide vest guy to see how powerful it was and I revise my opinion, he's not a suicide vest, he's a suitcase nuke.
  18. When you say skip the encounter you mean not doing the quest I assume? You can sneak right past them and solve the encounter peacefully and then the NPCs clear out the looters for you. Solving an encounter via roleplay isn't skipping it. e.g. getting Mad Morena to supply food and her handing you Tarn's isn't "skipping the encounter" (of killing all the smugglers) it's just solving said encounter differently.
  19. I disagree with the assesment Swashbuckler "locking things down and wearing them or holding for others to kill". That'd be more accurate description of the Brute IMO. A Streetfighter Swashbuckler will deal a lot more damage then a Brute, at least prior to level 19 and Blood Thirst. But then Swash will get Clear Out at level 16 which is fun in its own way. Unbending means you can fully dump deflection, focus heavily on damage stats and even have lowish Con and still survive trough everything (barring Arcane Dampener). Deltro's helm has been nerfed btw and I don't think Cyrus would get much mileage of it. I said deltro's cage, not deltro's helm. You need to look at specifically what he wants: A guy with LDV. A brute will out damage a swashy with THAT item due to the difference between the level ups between barbarian and figher... it adds stacks and shocks in aoe for the barb (due to carnage applying the stacks). Most classes can be built to do dps or tank or control That also holds true of the swash, BUT if you pigeon hole it into use of LDV the brute & Marauder will out dps.
  20. Party is more fun Solo is more challenging You can do RP builds when using a party. for Solo you need to get specific things for specific encounters or rely on resets and splits (or avoidance) The brute can be a serious tough guy that deals out the pain, with LDV & deltro's cage you can tear stuff up and are basically invincible until unbending runs out. The marauder is not invincible due to defense but the end results he is really tough due to the speed at which he kills mobs The swashbuckler is the tankiest and is really good at locking things down and wearing them down or holding them for others to kill. (that doesn't sound like the theme you are asking for in the other threads). Out of them all The Brute & Marauder are the two that sound the closest to an iron reaver. At this point you need to ask yourself whether you want more offense or more defense and take the corresponding one.
  21. Unless you are talking solo, the frenzy damage will never be that bad, drop a moonwell under him and you won't even notice.
  22. Thematically, if you are looking to recreate the feeling of a Euron Greyjoy reaver from the iron isles Marauder is more fitting. Hard hitting and "the best defense is a good offense" type character. I would personally prefer to dual wield as a marauder instead of the 2 handed, but it will still work quite well with LDV, which you can get immediately after the tutorial if you wanted.
  23. I used storm blight early levels since it gives a ranged attack and the build is pretty squishy until you get good armor.
