Saved game file Test 1. With Bow, ensuring she died w/ soul charge effect -I loaded it up, killed her she only dropped the helm. -I reloaded and she dropped both the plate, helm, and mace. -I reloaded for #3 and she dropped both the plate, helm, and mace. Test 2. With Bow, ensuring she died w/ soul charge effect -I exited the game completely and then loaded the save back up and he only dropped the helm -I reloaded and she dropped both the plate, helm, and mace. -I reloaded for #3 and she dropped both the plate, helm, and mace. Test 3. No bow used -I reloaded and she dropped both the plate, helm, and mace. -I exited the game completely and then loaded the save back up and he only dropped the helm So it's not the bow after all it's just something wonky with the straight from title page load as opposed to a in game load.

I think the swashbucker Unbroken/Trickster is "the perfect tank". Here's why: Geared appropriately, you can get 6+ engagements while in still in mob stance. Riposte, and if you don't mind killing huana, the apex shield, along with huge amounts of deflection and AR means he can not only hold aggro like no other, but can put out some decent numbers. Constant distraction means he sets all mobs he's engaged with up for easy deathblows (for himself & other rogues). Paladins may get cool defenses and all, but I haven't been able to match the tanking prowess of the Ironhammer yet. My Favorite Rogue is dual blunderbuss (Hand mortar + Fire in the hole) Favorite Monk based is still the Drunken Master, but that build is Super Micro intensive so not fun in a party unless you can automate the rest. I admit to not having given the ranger a real chance yet though. One day I'll try one. I just like melee too much I guess. (a scout build with the 2x blunderbuss looks like it could be fun though (if driving flight even works with the aoes.).

The 2 named mobs it happened on were: 1. Meryel the Mad did not drop the necklace when she was transformed; she was transformed into an ooze. - reloaded refought didn't transform and I got the necklace - MC Preist of Bareth, Bow in the hands of custom companion 2. Ezzali Bardatto: transformed into an Imp did not drop deltro's cage -Reloaded, refought, didn't transform her and got the armor (and a second mace) -MC druid/monk, bow in eder's hands (as rogue) On unnamed mobs it's harder to track since thing are more randomized. Unless these drops are not 100% chance and it was just a coincidence?

So far the most fun i've had was MC: Fanatic w/ dual warhammers and DoC breastplate (used mod+duskfall early game) Teheku: Thuerg w/ singing sword and Clad scalth using Aloth's robe Sarafen: Witch w/ Tarn's and Beza's w/ Castia legacy Xoti: Priest w/ her lantern + Marux, miscreant leathers Eder: Rogue w/ fire in the hole, hand mortar (wael's + the new DLC scepter for pierce immune) using Husk (with perception resistance) and blunderbuss modal always on I had to swap Teheku out for Konstatine for the DLC with this party since he was 100% frost/water based edit: By fun I mean it wasn't a cakewalk and it also wasn't aggravating.

Do you want to use story companions or are you open to custom ones? The only story companion that is optimal is Teheku (and maybe Mirke if you follow Sin Tee's build). With a full party you don't have to min/max super optimize. You want things that debuff, things that add accuracy, and things that do something on hit/crit. If you follow the Iron hammer guide for a custom companion (or MC) then use the Teheku Stormgod guide in these forums you can make everyone else ranged dps (either with weapons or magic or any combo of both. The two major strategies in my party build outs are: 1. specialize each person and swap them for different encounters (having a super-awesome fire guy during the magma dragon is a waste of a slot, having a super-awesome ice guy in the DLC is a waste of a spot. 2. Make each person, at least slightly, flexible in damage types and use them throughout base on cross build synergy. My Favorite synergies: 1. Main tank has constant distraction (so has a tank+rogue multiclass) and tons of engagements + an AoE Rogue and/or Scout = aoe deathblows for everyone 2. Will breaker + body shots modal + fort debuffs = all your barbarians chain critting (put a "X on crit" weapon in their hands and you get to do the pink mist dance). 3. Assassinate + empower + pumped PL's + aoe spell from stealth = boom (add that to # 1 and you can basically one shot most encounters) I've found myself trying to make builds that are "good enough" instead of game breaking now though. The only other way to make the game hard would make it not fun (try being a streetfighter with immunity to flanked gear heheheh).

IDK about "best" but if you choose: 1. The homeland of one of the factions And/or 2. Same race as the person you are talking to you get custom scripts for those factions/races. If you choose Deadfire + Island Aumaua I think you get the most custom interactions (anecdotally not tested or counted).

Modwyr + Duskfall was my early game combo and really helped w/ the intel immunity (bought the brain from the herb merchant in Nek). I swapped them out as I got access to better weapons and abilities to use them (and had enough money/skills to get DoC breastplate) Last Word + Magran's Favor was the longest used (with Last word + Sun&Moon in offhand for when I needed all crush) End Game post DLC I ended up with Last Word + Glacierbane The reason why last word was so awesome w/ Berzerker was the hit->crit and the fact that crits w/ Last word SILENCE mobs and they get stuck just auto attacking. If you combine crits with interrupting blows you can have a boss fight where the only thing they ever do is auto-attack and a few uninterruptible skills.

I could be remembering incorrectly, but I'm pretty sure I pickpocketed this in my current playthrough. I have the helm and have always solved that quest peacefully, never killing Ezzali.I was able to pick pocket Deltro's Cage Helm but not the armor. Maybe I need a higher sleight of hand? Before 2.0 I would solve it peacefully, then kill both houses for their gear and get both. I just tried it on a new play-though in 2.0 and she didn't drop the armor when I killed her . Going to try a few other things before deciding I have to side with her to get it. I tried to solve it peacefully and then have both families kill each other, but she didn't drop the armor the either. I reloaded a quick save i did right before attacking her, did everything the same, except no transmorph from the bow, and got the thing. So not dropping it might have been some weird bug? IDK.

Edit: Second time I got the chest (and a second Bardatto's luxury). The only difference was on the first try essence interrupter changed her to an ogre. We may need to test if the change breaks the loot table (unless the drop is chanced based)?

A real surprise for me with my Fanatic build was how good Last Word was. Since I was criting all the time enemies were stuck only able to auto attack (silences on crit for 3 secs). Between that and inturpting blows he could lock down the big nasties while putting out decent numbers and doting everything he hit (bloody dance). But you lose the big splash numbers to balance the dual damage type on the warhammers. I'm glad they are under rated though. It just makes my builds less likely to get nerfed.

Yeah I had to exit completely to get it to drop even on the exact same save file that I tried to reload to.
