  1. It has nothing to do with a piece of paper. Its all nice that your dad got on without a proper education, but that is one case in millions. Also Canada tends to be more of a nanny state than the US so that makes a huge world of difference as well. Besides, an education is more about self improvement than getting a better job. Education allows a person to enrich themselves and become a better, more knowledgable person, which in my ever so humble opinion is more important than a higher paygrade.
  2. Without any good reason, such as a severe illness, it is plain neglect to keep a child from school for that length of time when school is in session. Hell, I don't even like the archaic three month break during the summer.
  3. Sounds to me they are using the usual fantasy stereotypes in the game.
  4. I disagree.
  5. What are the differences then? You can a level, you become stronger and more skilled in a focused field. A class is a class. It doesn't matter if it is a "base" class, "advanced" class, or "prestige" class. A class is a class.
  6. A class is a class, Volourn. May it be a reagular class, prestige class, or whatever. A rose of any other name and all that jazz. A full class list would include all prestige classes as well.
  7. While I find such teachings abhorent, it is no less valid belief system than any other. The children shouldn't have been taken away, but at the same time I agree with Hurlie that children should not be used as political statements and be duly punished for being a disruption in the classroom. However, taking the children away from a parent is too extreme.
  8. Yeah, I heard about that. He also did a role on Andromeda.
  9. Congrats.
  10. Well, the way I see it there is going to be some intimidation factor with a 10th level wizard even if he doesn't put any points in the skill just due to the fact that he is a 10th level wizard. Also as one gets to higher levels the DCs will also increase as well. Sure a 30th level fighter might have a Theivery of +15 but he will be facing locks and traps that have a DC of 40 or higher.
  11. Bethesda's Fallout isn't worth $10 let alone $120.
  12. You ate the devil's eggs. The devil is bad, m'kay.
  13. Not surprising, considering some celphones are more powerful than some midrange to low range laptops.
  14. They could have spaced out the skill set a little than what they did but overall it is better to get rid of the clutter. Did any ever put ranks in Rope Use or any non-spell caster make use of Concentration? Also what use was having a skill so specialized such as Forgery? The Skill System in 4e, with the exception of the lacking in Crafting, is not that bad.
  15. I have spent the last few days, including to today, from a state of near panic to being completely flabberghasted. I don't want to get too personal but I had a bit of a family emergency that went from, by what the doctor said, certain death to a complete 180 recovery in the span of less than a week. So, I am going to get a spot to eat then collapse to sleep, for I haven't had any significant amount since Friday.
  16. I am trying to vcome up with better multiclassing for it, at the same time not overpower it. I found crafting rules built for 4e at ENWorld, but it looks way over complicated for my tastes. I am not to the point I like 4e, but so far I haven't completely dismissed it.
  17. Well, one plausible change I see is free notebook computers when one signs up for wireless DSL. We have cellular plans that gives you a free celphone when you set up, and with costs coming down on basic laptops and notebook computers I can see this happening.
  18. I got Bard/Rogue.
  19. Also the complete and total lacking in crafting rules suck as well. As a player I like to make characters that makes his own stuff. From the armor he wears, the weapons he uses, to the wands and rings as well. I do like the way they are handling magic item creation, but there is absolutely no rules in making the base item.
  20. It goes by the old addage "no one left behind." If one goes, then they all go. If one stays, then they all stay. At least that is how I an interpreting McCain's actions and decisions back then. It is one of the reasons I respect the man.
  21. just try to play without prejustice or it won't matter much Well, combat is easy, and fun. Also rather quick in round progression. In 3.5e an hour combat would last 2 to 3 rounds, while combat at the same length with be about 6 to 8 rounds. The major fault I don't like about it is the multiclassing rules.
  22. I wonder if they will make it as boring the first two were.
  23. I have fired a .22, 9mm, and a .45.
  24. While I do not want McCain as president I do have a lot of respect for the guy. Minor flubs like this is not a big deal to me. If he ever places Idaho as being part of the "Axis of Evil" then I will be worried.
  25. John Candy was okay, but I never really liked any of Chris Farley's work.
