Ambassador Program - No Free Upgrade DLC
Ripe replied to Diehose's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
From the original Ambassador Program info: So if you bought RotR bundle on Android BEFORE June 15th (I think it was 15th... could be 12th or 13th) you qualify for Ambassador Program. If you bought it after you don't so you won't get Obsidian Ed. DLC for free. -
Sadly, this is an old bug... and I'm afraid it's not one that can be easily handled. Bug is not in Ogrekin going to the bottom of location deck that should always happen, regardless if you beat it or not (so don't feel bad about not beating it), bug is that it doesn't roll for ability again when you encounter it (which could end up being option #4 again... it sure is most of the time I face it except if it's with Merisiel, then it's option #3).

Can't recharge armor
Ripe replied to ncassella's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Recharge at the end of the turn or in response to something dealing you damage? I'm asking because somethings deal "damage that can not be reduced" or deal a specific type of damage that your armor can't prevent so in those cases you wouldn't get an option to recharge the armor... -
Yeah, if you "Turn off" Treasure cards in story mode you will never find them and you'll get to play the game as it was originally released in it's physical form. Besides, just because you have a treasure card unlocked it doesn't mean you get to use it in you character deck straight away. In order to use any card other then one with "Basic" trait (treasure or normal) in your character's deck you first need to find it during the scenario. There are few cards that I never got to see during play (and I played a lot) even tho I have it unlocked. Another thing you get with Obsidian edition is all 11 character alts and future DLC's (Goblin packs) for free... you can get Alts pack for 5€ and I guess both goblin packs will be priced the same, meaning you get a small discount on them if you get Obsidian edition at this point.

Worst Party
Ripe replied to Sir Real's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: Characters Builds & Strategies (Spoiler Warning!)
Amiri, Merisiel, Harsk, Sajan, Seelah and Valeros... even Local Heroes on Normal is a problem for those guys. -
Please bring back salvaging.
Ripe replied to jumpthegun's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
New system is NOT better... not even close. And stealing our cards is certainly not a way to go forward. -
No more salvage?
Ripe replied to thelee's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Well, that is still no good since most of the uncommon cards are not something that is worth having 4 copies of... I'd like to have 1 copy of them but no more. So my point about Treasure chests being worthless to me stand. Actually, it's even worse: by removing extra cards I got and choose to keep you stole the content I PAID for! -
No more salvage?
Ripe replied to thelee's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
So basically, Treasure Chests are now worthless unless you want to get way too many junk cards. Good to know. That also mean those 10 chests I got as a "compensation" for removing Quest Mode will remain unopened, making them no compensation at all. I'd rather be able to destroy cards I don't want for no gold then having no option to remove unwanted cards. -
Still crashing under new patch 1.2.6.1
Ripe replied to OrcishBard's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I can't do either since January... reported it three times already without any response from Devs. -
I reported this issue for the first time in January (I reported it again in March) and now it's June and I still have the same issue with the game: game crashes whenever I try to create a new party or manage the existing one in Story mode. The issue was temporarily solved in January by re-installing the game but now even that solution doesn't help. This make the game unplayable for me and make me wonder why should I spent another cent on it in the future since a huge issue like this isn't resolved in over six months... PFID: BDD5DDFA710115D5

It may be a "very narrow view" but you're the one missing the whole picture... The problem is not how to add Multiplayer to the game, it's how to add it without causing issues with "main game" (which, like it or not is Story Mode). Quest Mode introduced a lot of ways it could be done, but Quest Mode also introduced so many issues and bugs (not just for itself but also for Story Mode) that Obsidian decided to scrap it completely and remove it before a Steam release. Organized play (and Class Decks) are not mandatory to introduce Multiplayer but they are simplest and easiest solution, one that have least chance of introducing bugs that could make Story Mode unstable. Could it be done without it? Sure, but that also bring the risk of creating "another Quest Mode" with all it's problems and issues.
-
I don't see why you'd think this is the case... there's really no reason they'd need to introduce class decks in order for you to have characters play in an asynchronous way... they could do it with their current cards and mechanics. Because timing of WHEN someone play something is only one of the problems with Pathfinder multiplayer... and it's not even the biggest one. Card pool available for deck construction AND play is the main issue, same as with Organized play. Paizo handled that issue with Class decks and I can't see a way Obsidian can do it without them.
-
Well, for multiplayer to work they need to handle it the way Paizo handle Organized play (which IS multiplayer for physical game!)... and for that they need to introduce Class decks. As for Story vs. Quest mode... I actually prefer Story because it's a lot less grinding there. Quest mode is just constant repeating of same 5-6 scenario setups untill you get to add a new tier od cards where you get to repeat another set of same 5-6 scenario setups. Difference is, in Story mode you get to add new tier much faster (5 scenarios won as opposed to 15-20).
-
Thing is, with Lem you often don't want to recharge a spell. You want it in your discard pile so it would be available when needed. Sure, Lem can get through his deck rather fast but that still doesn't guarantee you'll get it when most needed. That is especially true in 6-5 where his ability to cast Mass Cure (or even Major Cure) every turn will make a huge difference.

Bug: Blessing of Abadar
Ripe replied to razmeth's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
No, that should not be intentional. Mattock changed the skill check used but you're still trying to defeat Barrier. So it should work. The only way it would be intentional is if they somehow blocked "higher tier" cards from getting full effect at lower tier which is not the case (or at least it wasn't last time I played). -
Quest Mode Reminder
Ripe replied to Ethics Gradient's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
You can't be more wrong. The only thing that is correct here is the fact that story mode does not allow grinding for gold (it does, but nowhere near Quest mode)... everything else is just plain wrong. Both Quest and Story use same pool of cards... there is no card that can only be used in Quest mode. But there are cards that only show up in Story mode since I don't think Loot card are used there. Story mode may not be engaging but at least it have a story behind it... and that slightly changes based on which characters you use. Replay value is the same whether Quest mode is there or not... in fact, Story mode might actually have higher replay value since you may wish to test yourself with various party setups to see how easy or hard it is to complete the mode. Randomness is about the same... with Story mode you have 5 new scenarios at each tier, with Quest mode you have 5-6 new scenarios at each tier. Quest mode was never trully random. Both are repetitive... at least with Story mode you know you'll play each set only once during your playtrough as opposed to Quest mode where you literally had to play exact same scenario sevaral times in a row. So no, Quest mode is not where the replay value of the game is. Replay value of the game is the same as with it's physical copy: in ability to play through with different party sizes and composition. And each new character (or even character-alt) help with that.- 17 replies

Eulogy for Quest Mode
Ripe replied to Ethics Gradient's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
Not that random... I had six consecutive games with same setup (locations, wild cards, villain and henchmen) and same locations in 8-out-of-10 games. -
Eulogy for Quest Mode
Ripe replied to Ethics Gradient's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
Actually, replaying Story mode is rather compelling to my group... then again, between RotR, S&S, WotR and Class Decks (still didn't get MM) we have close to a 100 different characters we can use for our game without ever needing to repeat a party. Hopefully, they'll add up Skulls & Shackles soon... and that once they do we'll be able to use characters from either AP to create a party. -
OK, so the scenario victory condition is to have a number of plunder cards stashed equal (or greater... don't have it before me now so I'm not sure) to the number of locations. So in 4 player game we needed 6 (or 7) plunder cards. You start the scenario (any scenario) with 1 plunder card. We started playing and on first explore of the game we encountered one of the nastiest barriers available in the game: Goblin Keelhaulin (it's a promo card for S&S) Now, on the first look, Goblin Keelhaulin is nothing special (Con/Fort 5 or Wis/Survival 6) but then you start to read it's powers... first of all, difficulty is increased by twice the adventure deck number (so in our case, being in AD2 we faced Con/Fort 9 or Wis/Survival 10). Second line is the nasty part: "If undefeated, draw a number of cards equal to your hand size, then bury that number of cards". Final line is what caused us to win the scenario: "After you act, stash a number of plunder cards equal to your hand size." Considering character doing exploration had a hand size of 7, after resolving the barrier we passed the treshold required to win the game which lead to discussion about "Are we reading this correctly?" and "Did we really just won the scenario?" As it turned out, yes, we did just won a scenario simply by facing a barrier.
