Festive Wool Hide gone?
Ripe replied to Thyraxus's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
My Festive Wool went from 3 copies down to 2 but I do have 3 Roosters... -
Wait till you get your hands on an Ebon Thorn... Ebon Thorn doesnt add to Charisma, and that is the trait that makes the skin so good. Adds to all Seelahs divine checks. I am sticking with the skin No, it adds to Combat checks which is better since you can use it for melee combat as well... you don't get bonus on recharge but that's a small price to pay.

I know it's a B spell but it's not a Basic spell... and you can only select basic cards to replenish your deck after completing Local Heroes. Or any other B, AD1 or AD2 scenario for that matter. Maybe that is changed if you started playing AD3 scenarios but it shouldn't be changed considering you still completed only AD1 scenario.

Opened 145 chests last night...
Ripe replied to MauGibrin's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
I got Bounty, both Doctrines, all Unities except Sarenrae and Dragon Smiter... some or all Unities might be from one of the bundles tho. -
Spectre in the Garrison
Ripe replied to Saint Ajora's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Slaying Axe is the only "Slaying" weapon I own and it does have Magic trait so presumably so should the all the others including Sword. I suggest you make a new thread specifically asking if Slaying Sword should have Magic trait since there is no bug here... you used a weapon without Magic trait to fight a monster requiring that trait so everything worked as it should. -
Skulls & Shackles also led to a weirdest game I ever had when we actually won the scenario on FIRST EXPLORE! Which led to a small discussion about "are we reading this correctly" but following a quick check on Paizo forum we found out that yes, we are reading it correctly and we really did just win scenario on a first explore... to make everything even more bizarre, we won simply by encountering a barrier, we didn't even need to defeat it!

Take note that 24 out of 45 monsters, 2 out of 5 villains and several Henchmen from "B" and "C" set have either Animal or (more often) Aquatic trait so Lini will be recharging cards for her combat checks quite often. AD1 improve your odds even more considering 12 out 13 monsters there have either trait. Overall, due to it's theme you can expect at least 50% of all the banes to have Aquatic trait... Also note that you get to shuffle (and later on put on top of deck!) animals that you bury in addition to ones you discard! And later on with her roles... well, she get to be quite deadly. Oh yes, when posting character descriptions you missed Alahazra's greatest power, one that will be used constantly: "You may recharge a card that has the Divine trait to examine the top card of any location deck." Also, Lem's get to use Melee: Dex+1, not Str+1 on Finesse checks and Damiel get to add Poison or Fire trait (in addition to d6) when discarding (not recharging) a card to help a combat check (including his own) at his location.

It's a pirate themed game so naturally there are ships, ship to ship combat and most importantly plunder. What is plunder? Basically, at the start of scenario you roll for plunder and add one card of predetermined type (Weapon, Armor, Spell, Item, Ally, Your choice) under your ship. Each time you defeat a ship in combat you add another plunder card. And there are some scenarios whose reward is to add another plunder card of each type (there is one such scenario where current record for most plunder cards given as reward is in low 60's). And there are plenty of scenarios with unique win conditions... the one MauGibrin mentioned where you have two locations but you can't close (permanently or temporary) either one of them while location deck have cards in it, there is one with single location and your hand size is equal to "bane pile" or your normal hand size, whichever is lower (so you start scenario with just 1 card in hand), there is one where you get to build a new location after you defeat a villain (and then you add new villain into that location), etc. All in all, S&S is rather fun game but it's not to everyone's taste due to introduction of firearms, ships and pirate theme...

The party I deleted (final one I tried) was rather unbalanced and consisted of 6 spellcasters (trying something new) and 4 of those are character alts (Ezren, Seoni, Kyra and Seelah) with Lem & Lini being the only "basic" characters. I'll try to check what are the names game gave them but last time I tried to open party creation game crashed so I might not be able to. If it helps, since it's new party I only managed to complete Brigandoon while all the other parties (and characters in them) reached AD6. UPDATE: I can't create new party since my game crashes when I choose an option to build a new party without ever reaching character selection screen (which also mean I can't tell what the names of each character is). Continuing existing party work as it should and I can play with all of the parties I have created.

Spectre in the Garrison
Ripe replied to Saint Ajora's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
"If the check to defeat does not have the Magic trait, the Spectre is undefeated." "If the check to defeat does not have the Magic trait, the Shadow is undefeated." Since during Brigandoon chances of either Amiri or Seelah having a magic weapon is very low, they can't defeat Spectre, Shadow, Ghost or any other monster with Incorporeal trait and what you experienced is not a bug, just being very, very unlucky. -
Well, simple restarting of the tab solved most of the problem... now I can start almost all preexisting parties. The one I cannot start is the last one I created. I'll try deleting that one later and then rebuild. UPDATE: Deleting party doesn't fix the issue... it actually make it worse. The attempt to rebuild a party crashed tablet so badly I needed to pull out battery in order to restart it.

Any other major differences I should know about? In the card game, you can't replay a scenario that you successfully completed like you can in the app. Meaning you can't return to farm for boons you missed. Also, you can't mix characters from several parties in card game... party which start AP is the party that finishes it unless someone dies (but that character is replaced by a newly created character, not a preexisting one). Also, a lot of terminology changed between Rise of the Runelords and Skulls & Shackles so depending on which AP you bought game could look a lot different. Game could also look different visually since spells and items got graphic redesign for S&S.

Good catch. Paizo.com seems to be hard down right now, but I believe you're right. When I said "the game should" it was an observation/analysis of how the App behaves. I wasn't speaking for the whole body of rules and errata that makes up the Pathfinder ACG universe. Should the app check when to add promo cards? FAQs say probably. Does it? No, it does not. Promos are currently found in B onward. Unless a dev is willing to chime in, it is hard to tell if this is another minor deviation from the Pathfinder ACG body of rules, or if they just missed the errata. Well, I guess we just found another potential bug... since, according to Paizo, Promo cards should not be added during B scenarios. With that said, I really can't remember seeing any of the Promo cards during B scenarios while playing in story mode.
-
The game should always add promo cards if you have them. There isn't any minimum AD check. Easiest way to verify this is to start a B scenario and go check out the vault. Those are all the cards that are available for play that session. All the Promo cards you possess should be visible alongside B-Deck and C-Deck (if you have it). Well, that is wrong. This is what Rise of the Runelords FAQ have to say about adding Promo cards to the box: Source: http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1gk#v5748eaic9r58 Skulls & Shackles FAQ clarify it a bit more: Source: http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1gu#v5748eaic9scg Take note that until Mummy Mask, "B" scenarios were not part of Adventure Path.

As a rule, I don't want to rely on getting 1 card out of 16-21 for anything and with only 1 weapon you're not guaranteed to even get it during a scenario (especially in later AD's when you cary Major Cure or Mass Cure). Not to mention that in order for Lini to use weapon you MUST discard a card to activate Beast Form otherwise any weapon you play is worse then using Inflict (remember, discarding an animal ally to activate Beast Form does not recharge that ally... if it does, it's a bug) . As for combat spells, Holy Light + Beast Trick is pretty much enough to take out anything up to AD4. Swipe is also a great combat spell for Lini since it also reduce difficulty of the check by 3, but even Inflicts will usually do the trick since we're talking d10+d8+d4+7 by the end of AD3 for an average of 20-21! And that's without playing a single blessing on a check... Yes, Lini is guaranteed to get Weapon Proficiency for 3rd power feat and if you really want her to use weapon, simply start her at same location as Amiri, Harsk or Valeros (and have them act before Lini!) so they could give her a weapon before going somewhere else. That way you ensure she will have a weapon in hand from begining of scenario while also spending her card feats on more useful card types. And by the end of AD5 Lini should receive Ordikon's staff which will be all the weapon (taking Item slot!) she'll need.

What is the size of a party Lini you base your Character Guide on? Because in all of our plays with 6 character game we never gave bothered giving Lini a weapon... there was no point in it. Not to mention that she got additional ally (just 1, not 3) only after maxing out spells. If she's only Divine caster in party (and with 6 characters that is most likely) you'll have enough Divine combat spells so you pretty much make sure you always have one in hand (also, don't be afraid to cast Cure in order to reshuffle your deck, even if you have only 1 card in discard!). Also, giving Lini Staff of Hungry Shadows IF you have arcane caster in party is waste of a great item. Ability to reduce another characters combat check by up to 18 (with 10+ being norm!) is simply too great to miss and you miss it if Lini get the Staff!. Hell, that reduction might make a difference between defeating Karzoug or loosing the game. Giving Lini Ordikon's staff is another issue since she can get a great use out of it.

Once again, I have an issue when trying to load and continue playing with an existing party. I don't know if I can start a new one with new characters since I have 24 characters saved at this point. I know I can temporarily solve this issue by uninstalling and reinstalling the game but that is starting to became annoying real fast considering it will be 4th (or maybe even 5th) time I had to reinstall the game due to various issues... Missing Dice From Chest
Ripe replied to Chicken The God's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I'd say, quite often, at least when dice are concerned. I think I lost count of how often I get a dice set from chest but it doesn't record it in gallery.
