  1. Did you used Seoni's power to discard a card on that combat check? If you did then it's not a bug since you can play only one card of same type during the check and Seoni's power specifically state that "This counts as playing a spell." If you didn't use the power then it's still not a bug because your combat check is not a Charisma check (it's Strength or Melee) so you can't play Eloquence...
  2. I wish I was as optimistic as you. As of now, I am not confident the current development team has the skills and resources necessary to create the sequels. If they're having a hard time with RotR, imagine how they'll fare when they have to program ships or mythic paths. Exactly... Runelords is simplest and least complex AP of the three currently released. If they have this much problem releasing AD4 of Runelords I can't even begin to imagine how much problem will they have with Ships, Cohorts, Mythic Paths, scenarios that build location in the middle of it, Villains that are shuffled into blessings deck and all those non-standard victory conditions...
  3. Could be... but at this point I'm pretty much done with this app. As I mentioned I don't expect AD4 before end of October, and I expect we'll get AD6 by April/May 2017... and I also expect that was it as far as this game goes. I no longer expect us to get Skulls & Shackles and Wrath of the Righteous (let alone Mummy Mask) and those are actual AP's I was looking forward to playing. Shame, maybe if Paizo choose someone more reliable then Obsidian we could have a great game...
  4. Maybe they shouldn't have provided support for smaller devices? Maybe instead of phones they should focus on Steam and PC/laptop users?
  5. Problem is that lately, most of the "game corrupting/game stopping bugs" are direct result of updates and add-ons that have very little to do with actual game content: AD4, AD5 and AD6. I mean, look at the last set that came with 1.1.3: pretty much all of those bugs are due to new interface screwing things up. So now AD4 will get even further delay (I'll be surprised if we get it by the end of October!) since they'll have to fix those bugs first... bugs that shouldn't even be in the game if they didn't decide to push an update nobody cared about, nobody asked for and which actually made the game worse. Not to mention that fixing those bugs could potentially create new ones that need to be addressed first...
  6. Simple, it's not an improvement over the previous one. That is all there is to it. The question every developer of anything should ask themselves is will newer version be better then old one? If the answer to that is NO then you should never, ever introduce that "new version". Unless you're a Microsoft... then you can keep releasing worse and worse versions of your operating system without an issue.
  7. I agree that the execution would need polish, but the UI change was desperately needed for small devices. I have a Samsung S4 and I had to put the screen 5inches from my eyes if I wanted to read the cards or the location powers! I love the new UI because I can now read things without looking like I'm 75 years old trying to read the newspaper. If they can replace the button with more of a sliding drawer, I think that would be better. So they could fix it JUST for small devices without ruining it for everything else!
  8. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" UI wasn't broken and was working fine so there was absolutely no need to change it... especially not change it for the worse! I won't say that the change make the game unplayable but it certainly make it more complicated by adding additional "clicks" to get a rather important information.
  9. You were at General Store... you encountered Villain... you failed to defeat it... you got another exploration due to Location power (optional exploration if you don't encounter weapon, armor or item which you didn't)... Playing Detect Magic had nothing to do with that extra explore...
  10. That never gave an additional explore, even before the last update. But that is by design since, to quote Mike Selinkar "It's not exploring. Just because you have the parts of a car lying around doesn't mean you can drive it." Here is the link to Paizo's website where this exact question was asked: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2q7b2?Card-interaction-question-Ezren-and-Detect#1
  11. That's a shame... they presented a rather nice challenge. It's not like they made the scenario unbeatable so I can't see a reason why they got removed. Because it was unbeatable for most of the players mate Which is a problem because it shouldn't be unbeatable... and it's not. You do need to adjust your strategy but it's most certainly defeatable. Another thing is that by removing them here, all those players will only have problems in the future because in upcoming AP's there are scenarios without Henchman or scenarios with Henchman that don't allow immediate closing of location. Not to mention Villains who are undefeated if they're not the only card in location deck! This could have been a nice, "safe" training session to prepare for those scenarios.

  13. You sure about this? If so, that's a bug. Using the Crown of Charisma doesn't add Magic to the check, even though the Crown is magic. Paizo discussion of this Yeah, it shouldn't work, and it does not. I can attest to that as I used it just today and she remained undefeated. Then it's possible it was fixed in one of the latest patches (3.7 or 3. since it did work for me (to my huge surprise, I might add) during my solo run with Merisiel on Legendary few weeks ago...
  14. Yup, that's by design... unless you somehow add Magic trait to your check to defeat (not easy at all on non-combat checks!) she is considered undefeated and you don't get to search location deck for Skinsaw man. Take note that Crown of Charisma does work on her and she is considered defeated. I never got the chance to use Potion of Glibness on her but it's possible that one would also work...
  15. Maybe game shouldn't be saving them as individual characters... maybe it should save them as parties. That might take away ability to remove a character from a party and use it in another but that's small (insignificant) price to pay. While I agree that 24 is improvement over 10 but it's still way too low and not nearly enough... And no, we can't do all possible combinations right now AND keep them saved so we could run them through entire RotR! We could only do them if we delete some of the previous combinations... meaning our choice is to either abandon Story mode completely until AD4 is released (and then, once we run all the parties through it abandon it untill AD5) or delete some characters loosing them and their progress permanently. Another thing, in tabletop game you had unlimited character slots thanks to Character Sheets and Deck lists.
  16. Not really a solution considering there is no optimal deck and character build. A lot of the time character and deck build will depend on what other characters you use in your party... My Seelah that is part of "Main 6" and Seelah that is part of "Non-Spellcasters" are very, very different. In fact, Non-Spellcaster party Seelah will probably have a build I wouldn't repeat with any other considering she'll be the only source of healing in the party. And she'll be the only source of it until Sajan became a Drunken Master so he can recharge Potions of Healing... at that point she'll replace her last Cure with Augury (she already have Scrying). Another difference is that she'll split her first four skill points between Strength and Wisdom. Hell, I'll probably give "Non-Spellcaster" Harsk a Divine: Wisdom +1 and few card feets in Spell just so he could carry another copy of Mass Cure or Scrying/Augury (probably Augury) since I'll need all the scouting power I can get for scenario 6-5... and I never ever considered giving those to Harsk! But bottom line is, starting up new parties and leveling up character is what Pathfinder Adventures Card Game is all about. And with only 24 character slots we can't really do that, can't we?
  17. I know that just deleting the party doesn't delete the characters... my problem is that 24 slots is nowhere near enough for me. Yes, I can have any character in both roles but that alone mean nothing. So far, I run 6 different parties of 5-6 characters (Main 6, Remaining 5, All Males, All Females, All Spellcasters, All Non-Spellcasters) through available RotR decks but due to low amount of slots I had to delete two of those parties (and characters) already. And that's not even close to what I would be running through if the game allow me to... which it doesn't!
  18. At the moment we can save up to 24 characters in both Story and Quest mode. While having 24 slots is enough for Quest mode it is way too few (at least in my opinion) for Story mode. That mean we can only run four parties consisting of six characters each! For a game whose one of the main draw is character and deck building that is nowhere close to being enough... if you're like me and you like to experiment with different party compositions you'll run out of available slots real fast. That leave us with choice of either deleting a party (and characters consisting it) before we had a chance of seeing them through Rise of Runelords or abandoning Story mode completely before next AD became available in order to "save" those parties. Both of those options are equally unacceptable and unattractive... Hopefully, that number of slots will get increased in the future, especially if we get Class Decks (which we will since any type of Multiplayer is borderline impossible without them) and Skulls & Shackles, Wrath of Righteous, Mummy Mask and whatever AP Paizo publish after that...
  19. Well, you might find this helpful for playing Sajan: http://paizo.com/paizo/blog/v5748dyo5lhzh?Hawkmoons-Best-Character-Ever-Sajan
  20. Yes, cards from all decks drop from Treasure chest so no, you didn't have to wait.
  21. More or less... you can't encounter any Treasure chest card until it's deck is added to story or quest mode. Meaning that deck 4, 5 and 6 cards are still unavailable for play but those from earlier decks you should encounter during play... once all the other cards with same deck number get added. So you'll have to wait a bit longer for deck 5 and 6 stuff...
  22. I expect S&S will have it's own Vault and will be somewhat separate but I hope it won't be completely separated game because I'm looking forward to soloing RotR with Feiya...
  23. I agree with you on Treasure chest... not sure they were necessary addition and they will cause a whole lot of problems in the future. You're right they do dilute value of Adventure Deck cards (it's deck, not path... Adventure Path is set of 6 Adventure Decks) but luckily we do have an option to turn them off in story mode, which is the first thing I did after acquiring my first treasure chest cards. Problem with treasure cards will became bigger once we get to a second Adventure Path (Skulls & Shackles) because a lot of the cards that were added here as part of treasure chest are integral part of that AP. Even bigger problem will became Damiel who is already overpowered as it is (how else would you call a character who can potentially deal d10+d8+4d6+5 points of damage from the first turn! Without anyone using a blessing or something similar on him!) and now, thanks to those treasure cards he will get all those Flasks that he recharges by default since they have Alchemical trait...
  24. What? Have you ever watched Jackie Chan's Drunken Master? You should! But, yes, you're maybe right. Like I said before, I don't know how flasks work in this game, but I have to say that, mechanically, they have almost the same properties of potions (they only apply to you or to another character at your location; they are usually banished after they're used). My complaint is that I haven't saw any potion that is worth adopting the role Drunken Master. Even in the physical game, I've find very few items with the Liquid trait that are more combat oriented. There is one from the Sorcerer Class Deck called Bottled Lightning, that would be a mess in the hands of monk, but I don't know if it already drops from treasure chests or if there is any other similar card. Keep in mind that you can use Potion of Fortitude/Glibness/etc. to defeat any bane whose check to defeat include listed skill. Which are mostly barriers but there is also a few monsters and even henchmans and villains that include those skills in their checks to defeat (Barl Breakbones, Iesha Foxgolve). Another Potion that you might want to consider using is Potion of Energy Resistance... as we keep going there will be more and more things that deal elemental damage during "Before you act" portion of the encounter so having a way to ignore that is always nice.
  25. 3-5 is rather difficult for Merisiel with all the Wisdom based locations (not to mention Shrine of Lamashtu). Took me at least 20 tries and a lot of luck (villain on top or close to it on both Mountain Peek and Shrine!) to finally defeat it. One interesting thing about Iesha: using Crown of Charisma on her count as defeating her so you get to examine a location deck and potentially putting Skinsaw man on top...
