  1. Yeah, delete them... god forbid if the game was actually hard on HARD. Seriously, was OE not paying attention at the "how silly easy your game is supposed to be" lectures. For anyone having issues and threatning to stop over them... EMP GRENADES! Seriously.
  2. It's under "Manage 3D settings" which only appears with the control panel set on 'advanced'.
  3. You realise the pistol is pretty much made for critical hit headshots right? That's why it's so inaccurte when shooting without aiming. If you use it like that, it hardly ever fails, but that obviously doesn't make it a perfect weapon if can't take your time to aim (but all weapons got their cons and pro's like that).
  4. Nope, surprises me too. I got the same as Thorton_AP. Although I guess that explains why others complain it's so hard and I find it the easiest of the 3.
  5. Yeah, it's better than, say, ME2's. However since there enemies didn't have to deal with you sneaking (they always know where you are), patrolling, identifying fallen bodies, call in backup, be in different alert states etc. it's not so noticable how much more lacking the AI there is, since their task is far simpler than in AP. Somewhat the same Deus Ex has to deal with, making enemies not all too smart not to make it impossible to stealth, and then people claim it's "bad AI". Sure it can use improvements, but it's pretty hard to make them smart and deal with all those factors and still allow stealth. And not make them obviously cheat (which they already do, as they all know your location once the alarm goes off, like ME2 foes).
  6. Well, I know I said AP didn't have as many bugs as I thought. Guess I have to fall back upon that. Due to the modding thread I was browsing the APEngine.ini, I made an interesting discovery. All advanced graphic options were on "true" even if I had disabled them in the game. I figured this was due this section being unused though, still, for certainty I started AP. Sure enough all ingame settings set off. I changed the resolution to 1280x800 (to test some stuff) then existed the game and re-opened the APEngine.ini. And sure enough, all options were on FALSE now. More testing did indeed confirm that the = true and false parameters in the APEngine.ini and ingame statistics didn't match UNLESS I did a resolution change (no, "apply" and stuff didn't work), and then don't made tweaks afterwards. If the functions in APEngine.ini (which make sense) would be a factor used in the game, and the 'off', 'on' options in the menu meaningless because they could match the .ini settings not, this could explain why many people would have stuttering even with low graphics... they still use the highest! Any other people willing to see if they see the same disrepency in APEngine.ini and the ingame mentions?
  7. I agree it's much MUCH too sensitive. I usually ignore them, since their placement usually doesn't help either...
  8. Well, only a minority is getting this issue, so I can assume why it slips through QA (as it's probably related to equipment setup and maintenance). Personally it loads for me within 0.1 sec, and buy is instantanious, no "lag". Have you made ini tweaks to decrease the texture pop-up? Weapons, when selected first show their mesh, then get re-textured later. If done all at once, it would make more sense for each individual item to take longer to load in. As usual; make sure your disk is defragmentated (C:/ and the drive where installed if not C:/) and have the latest drivers, aside from a large cachefile size for programs (and of course enough free space on the disk to support this, 2Gb should do). Does it still happen then? Also, have you applied the ini tweaks against mouse-stuttering in the FAQ stickied on top (not the tweaks posted in this thread)?
  9. Not really. It just increases damage. A headshot still does more damage than a critical hit. Crit + Headshot combined, that's when the insta-kills start. And that's the exact same for pistol and AR. Although with pistol you need closer for crit, so it's easier to aim for the head from that distance compared to the further range of the AR. With a little training though, insta-kills are us, even from large distances. Since you have both console and PC version, care to eleborate what 'glitches' you talk about. Low FPS, hard hacking, what?
  10. Yes, it does. I bought it both times. Doesn't prevent that PC from being the hardest hacking miningame in the entire game. I dread to think how it is without that intel (although I am more inclined to think it's just broken and the same speed).
  11. Yeah, while it can happen on more places, it seems the airfield got it the worst. There have been several times I loaded my auto-save (on non-airfield missions) and got instantly shot (which may be a pain on Hard).
  12. While I find the pins easiest (although sometimes the "actual line is below the visual line" gets me), wires second (although 11 in a short time is too much) and yeah, hacking is the hardest. The worst are those in Rome, but I get the impression in the end there all minigames are at their thoughest in the last 3 missions). The one at the (spoiler alert for Rome!) refreshes each 3 seconds or so, even on Normal? That's just way too fast..
  13. Small question. How would that be an "original IP"?
  14. Yeah, forced AA causes glitches in many games. From "boxforming" in menu's of the Infinity Engine games (Baldur's Gate) to causing the entire terrain to turn blue (Gothic III).
  15. Congratiolations... you suggested a system worse than the checkpoint system now. No thank you sire.
  16. Never EVER shoot a gun while moving. If you stand still, crouch, an incoming enemy should easily be intercepted with the assault rifle, since the reticle is smaller than the guy in it (and that's with 0 Assault rifle skill).
  17. Still, that doesn't explain his (and others?) ability to bash away all your armor in a single slash, leaving you more vulnerable to other attacks (henchman fire) too...
  18. Yeah, thnx. It's still a bug though, should have been a green flag "Point of interest", not a blue dot "Stealth path"... Anyways... Game 3. Running out of stuff to report though. General: * Apparently Marburg can clip away ALL your endurance (190 points, on easy. A minigun takes 5 shots!) with a single melee attack and then some health too. I get the impression Brayko can too, and this is the reason their melee attacks are far more potent than they should be. Fix it (if I am correct and it's not just some weird Marburg ability), and less people should complain about Brayko, since he wont hammer on your health quite so fast anymore! * I was lockpicking a door, when a camera spotted me, and that activated binary invisibilty (basic) and that automatically unlocked the door even if I didn't had a single loper fixed? * Hmmm... Spy luck activates when bashing open a lock. Might be not the intention? Easy way to skip some minigames, even if it does cost you 25XP. Rome: * Warehouse: Icon doesn't get removed from the body after ID, and the cops "never spotted you" even if you beat the crap out of all of them, like I did... Endgame: * I get Shaheed's meeting email... only after meeting him... * Hmmm, Westridge complains to you if you join Halbech. But he also comments on you leaving Mina even if you are against Halbech (just before joining up with your contact)? Bug or intended behavior? * "I am downloading the files now, I need you to draw their fire", "Keep them off me, I need to concentrate". Aren't those supposed to be lines used only when Parker is turned (he's helping you)? I don't think they make much sense when fighting him now do they?
  19. No, just look at the threads themselves. Much more variety AND severity than the threads here.
  20. Alt/Tabbing works fine for me too. Tigranes, do you also still use Windows XP? It may be an issue with newer Windows versions?
  21. Hmmm, does it still happen if you turn all the advanced graphics off (just for testing, you don't need to keep them off 24/7)?
  22. You're using a console version right? Cause I've never seen that at all on the PC
  23. Having the 3 last checkpoint saves would be a good idea yes. The "block path behind" annoys me more than the checkpoints IMO.
  24. Eleborate please. The only choice where I *really* felt the timer was waaay too short is .
  25. Have you tried loading the save from the load game menu instead of ingame using the load last save? That seemed to help some issues with dissapearing foes at least. For the second; where you spotted or heard by the embassy guard outside there? He doesn't turn friendly along with the other guards (which may or may not be intended behavior)...
