  1. Seriously? Games are released buggier and unfinished these days than back then. Even consoles fall to "bugplagues" as they are now online and thus able to be patched, so they don't have to be as polished as they should have been in the past days. Add the rise of DLC which would allow whole chunks to be cut from games to be sold later, and we you notice we have entered the age of most unfinished releases EVER. And gamers happily swallow it it seems, except for AP... yup, makes sense. Hell, it almost already is, if some people are to be believed it's a PS1 game (yeah, the PS2 argument became too stale I guess 0_0)
  2. As said before, I doubt DS III will have limited arrows. The arrowupgrade suggestion from Krezack is good, but I suppose, like any gear, it would probably be an stat increase for the infinite arrows, not limiting them in the progress. Or it could draw upon mana instead.
  3. They show "off" in the ingame menu (advanced screen, not motion blur, although I notice if you turn it off then load a game it's still on anyway...) but "on" in the .ini. And indeed, shutting them off in the ini made my game run faster (and look worse).
  4. Yeah, but they didn't quite crack down DX as much as AP for it's 'outdated graphics', 'metric tons of bugs' and 'horrid AI', right? Or did I forgot all the 5/10's DX got?
  5. Baldur's Gate 2 got an "Improved Invisibility" spell. Is that game cheap too?
  6. DS1 and 2 both had infinite arrows, so I doubt that's suddenly going to change for III.
  7. If it uses the same numbering as the mission textures, M02 is the trainyard. No 14 though.
  8. Thank you for confirming that indeed these mails are switched about. Gung-ho people like me get mails about lack of kills after all, we were wondering (in another thread) if it was vice-versa or it would always give the no-kills mails...

  10. Heh, on the TNM forums we talk about making a DX Fanmade patch. 10 year after date. It still doesn't exist. So, no idea where the "DX sucks and fans fixed it" came from...
  11. Yup, I wouldn't count Darcy's "hide and throw a bunch of nades" bossbattle one of the best bossfights of the game. Quite the contrary. (Not to mention you still need to pump 100 bullets in the guy before he dies unless using Chain shot or the sniperrifle)
  12. I suck at stealth, so went the Rambo route, and I think it's just fine. Then again, I have played Deus Ex and such, so am familiar with the concept of having to be discreet even with killing everyone... If it was stealth forced upon the player, a la Splintercell, I think I would have found this game a lot harder to swallow.
  13. If, like stated before here I think, you just ignore your cursor when moving the block all is fine. I prefer the mouse-block above the keyboard one, much easier to click in it's right place.
  14. I think most reviewers "PS2 graphics" refer to the graphical mess one gets just before textures are loaded. Of course, it's pretty stupid to refer to these graphics (since, at least for me, they take less than 1 second to load their textures) but hey, that seems like what happened. They had to crucify the game for something right? It's less shallow than MW2. Crush that ****! Edit; thnx Oner.
  15. My first playthrough was with pistols, and I did Moscow first. Never had a problem with Surkov (against G22, if that matters). Of course that was 'normal', not 'hard'... The battle was over before I had even noticed it started . And no use of the sniperrifle. Just make sure they keep their distance, since melee damage seems to be higher than ranged damage (not to mention their acc. isn't perfect).
  16. Hello there. Horrible username! ;)

  17. Making (for Mina at least, not sure if other chars have the same issue) the negative Handler Bonus II require less than -10, as the positive Handler Bonus II also only needs like 4 or so?
  18. Second game I did Rome first, and still, the mini-games there were harder than most that followed in TaiPai and Rome (even without increased equipment/skill to counter). I thought it was level too, but it may not be after all (?).
  19. Looks like a cut Saudi Arabia mission. There is a mission screen in Saudi Arabia that's unused that shows many Halbech screens, probably was meant for this mission. Milan though?
  20. Does it include the missing ones? I have extracted all textures from the dossiers, and the 'missing' ones are just not included. So unless they are hidden somewhere different we would need to make them ourselves, aside from the thumbs which can be cut from the potraitNEW texture.
  21. Although the DS1 MP map is far more interesting, and the enemies are much more varied. Also, for a spellcaster class, DS1 got way more spells (once someone wondered why my melee hero had mana regeneration, oh yeah, mana shield! Such awesome spells aren't in DS2 ). Aside from that DS1 MP can be done with 8 vs. 4 players (IIRC). So, yeah, the mechanics of DS2 are more interesting, but DS1 got the superior MP gameplay.
  22. Sadly enough, it doesn't seem the actual dossiers are shipped in the game .
  23. Never gotten DS2 MP to work, and I doubt it's as intereting as playing on the DS1 MP map. Although the question would then be. Regular or LoA?
  24. I don't know. DS is *kind of* on the entire opposite side of the RPG-spectre.
