What frontline builds don't want to max History?
Having Eder take anything that isn't Insight or Survival feels contrary to his characterization.

Patch Notes for 1.2.0.0017
Parasol_Syndicate replied to David Benefield's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & NewsRaising the prices of ships feels like a fun-gate. No exploring for you until you do the city quests, meanwhile the rewards are less helpful than ever.

Goods and Services reputation gains
I probably should have tagged this as a [bUG]. I am paying for that mistake.

The Class and Subclass ideas forum
Parasol_Syndicate replied to NocturnalTrance's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire: Modding (Spoiler Warning!)Does Abydon dislike cleverness more than he dislikes cruelty? I don't know the canon enough to be sure, but I'm asking.

Goods and Services reputation gains
I receive no substantial change with these 2, and a 2 point gain with the VTC, who I had to bushwhack to complete the quest. Overall this is more helpful to me, but I don't think it's working as intended.

Goods and Services reputation gains
I'm being tardy in completing Goods and Services in this playthrough, waiting until level 20 to do so. Obviously my reputation system is in a complex state at this point. First thing that happens is Mad Morena takes all 4 crates of Adra, not just the 3 she wanted. It notes a major gain with the principi, and a moderate gain with the delver's row element. That doesn't happen. Instead...

I killed Mokeha (and Ikawha), can I proceed with the story or am I stuck?
Parasol_Syndicate replied to The Josip's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)This is my interpretation as well. Both parties need to apologize, and my watcher needs to get paid.

Sometimes I feel like the dumbest character in Deadfire and now I am
Parasol_Syndicate replied to doctoruniverse's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I have been playing a simply massive Aumaua with an modified intellect of 6. I may be the dumbest creature in the Deadfire, but all the kith who get in my way don't seem too brilliant, either.

Crafting a Custom Background, Need Some Context for Dragon Conversations
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Cyrus_Blackfeather's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)She leaves you her hoard, and the dominion of your keep. That said, you aren't really parting as equals. The master has deemed you worth living because she knows you can be controlled.

Best Faction for a Knowledge Plunderer?
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Cyrus_Blackfeather's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I agree that it seems like the Valians are funding a wider range of projects, some with some very broad applications. What is a soul? How does it move from place to place? Atsura hits the nail on the head when he opines about all the adra they're taking, without trying to understand if they should. That's the Valians to a T. Meanwhile, Rauatai has the technical edge, and is getting more results. It builds things, for purposes, and then it improves them. These improvements trickle down to it's general knowledge. I like this approach, but done on an imperial scale, progress is going to be glacial. The Old Principi are an interesting case in that they have the edge on Lore. They seem better steeped in customs and and events from the previous era. There fondest wish is to recreate Old Valia in their own image. This is old knowledge, rather than new, but it is still insight into stuff most have forgotten.

Unique Items – How and Where to find them
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Naito's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Do the other factions have their own "Enforcers"? Could be some rare/unknown items on them. I don't think I've dipped below relationship 1.

Eora from the eyes of a Sigilian Cutter
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Daggerknight's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Hey. Daggerknight, your original question got in my head and took up residence. I decided to do a breakdown of the convergence of Planescape and Deadfire factions. Athar None (Can’t accept divine aid) Godsmen VTC Bleak Cabal Doesn’t matter Doomguard Any except Huana. Dustmen Splintered Reef Fated Furrante Principi Fraternity of Order Huana Free League Solo or Aeldys Principi Harmonium RDC Mercykillers RDC or Huana Revolutionary League Solo Sign of One VTC Sensates Any or All Transcendent Order Solo Xaositects Aeldys Principi Double-checking my reasoning is of course wholesome and welcome to any who wish to.

Magran's Leaping Flames won't heal
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Jacoprog's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)This has shown up in my latest playthrough. On a Level 20 Xoti. Think the triggering agent was a trap or fight at splintered reef.

Special boats?
Parasol_Syndicate replied to MaximilianXimenez's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I am upset at the prejudice displayed towards the Red Dream. If it can keep out 266% the amount of cannon fire as Blackwood, it ought to be able to handle some adra. Instead they gotta go all auto insurance, and assume you'll drive your red junk recklessly.

Reputation Gains Through Dialogue: A Query
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Cyrus_Blackfeather's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)This is even worse if you're Trying to avoid reputation gains for roleplaying reasons. One city event about a minor wth a sword comes down to: 1.Are you alright? That's dangerous! [benevolent] 2.You're awfully brave! [Passionate] 3. You're going to get yourself killed. idiot. [Cruel] At least there's something for the bleak walkers on that list. Meanwhile, I'm stuck wondering which would be the least galling for my Stoic, irreverent watcher to actually say. So, yes, I play with reputation gain on. The game still bushwacks you.

[Quest]Shadow Under Neketaka problems thread
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Trevelyam's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Yep. This is an ongoing problem for me. Wiki seems to suggest I can fragment the soul by defeating the dragon. That's not happening, either.

Poll - Strongest/ Weakest Class (1.2.0)

Do you wanna join the circle of Archmagi?
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Fredward's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I am playing a Brute with an Intellect of 6. So... yeah. Joining the greatest minds of Eora would be more of a stretch goal.

[Idea] Berath's Blessings: Play as a Gunhawk/Watershaper/etc.
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Falk Schütze's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The elephant in the room: People would take these and ask for more dialogue choices that reflect them. If fully integrated, it'd affect companion reputations. That's a lot of coding. To make it slightly more sane, a Blessing to let us create Adventurers of these types might be possible.

Atsura is a really nice character.
Parasol_Syndicate replied to Fredward's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)It will forever be a mystery to me why the RDC doesn't just mortar the palace rooftop, and ignore the watcher angle entirely. "With one decisive battle, you've crushed the chances of a long and costly insurgency... or you would have, had I not ordered it done twenty minutes ago." I guess it's important to choose our ending, and being outsmarted by an NPC would be galling to many players.

Does anyone think the Kahanga are actually good for Deadfire?
Parasol_Syndicate replied to cyberpunker's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Morally, no. Historically, yes usually. My ancestors were conquered by Romans, Saxons, Normans and the Welsh before staging an rather unlikely revolution and subsequent annex of native lands on another continent. There was nothing wrong with the previous cultures, but it came down to force of arms and dumb luck. Who is conquered, and who conquers, isn't a matter of deserving. I guess that we have agency to decide, within the events of the game, what happens is for the best though.

Your Deadfire endings
Parasol_Syndicate replied to hamskii's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I would surmise that assassination is especially unpopular among those that haven't experienced war. Given the choice, I'd take the former, but that's just thinking in character.

Poll - Strongest/ Weakest Class (1.2.0)
Parasol_Syndicate replied to no1fanboy's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I agree. I think the pets are balanced to be part of a multiclassed character's features, rather than as the main defense of a ranger.

Does anyone think the Kahanga are actually good for Deadfire?
Parasol_Syndicate replied to cyberpunker's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I tend to favor the RDC's idea of empire over the VTC's brighter world mostly because of the role of the Huana in it. The RDC wants to make them farmers, and soldiers. In doing so, it'll produce a food surplus, and a modern army that's more likely to keep them alive (until Rauatai goes to war...) The VTC wants to bribe tribal officials, and offer laborers coin, so they'll feed and gorge themselves on Valian imports and luxuries. Profit! While it's good not to understate the evils of empire, Atsura's vision of the Deadfire is at least full of well-fed, well-armed natives. That...forgives a lot. While the role of the Kahangas can be greatly expanded by the Watcher's actions, the fact remains that they have no idea that their people are being enslaved, how their watershapers are empowered, or that the pirates are feeding and recruiting their plebs. It's a hard sell to make that look like legitimate rule. Although, of course, YMMV.
