  1. I think it was just fine length wise. Some people maybe burned through it much faster than others (I have heard of 23 hours from some people?) whereas others were more than 40. I took more than 70. Played lots of Pazaak, some Pod Racing. I didn't rush through it by any means but I don't think I really went too slowly either. Did my best to solve every quest and side quest though.
  2. That's true. After hearing it a few times, the novelty wore off and you just didn't want to wait through the too long dialogue exchanges.
  3. Who is Deadeye Duncan supposed to be?
  4. Some of it is that the Dark Side corrupts. Perhaps with others it's that personal trauma pushed people already cradling between the light side and the dark side over the end completely. I suspect that's what Episode III will reveal about Anakin/Darth Vader.
  5. Force Choke on love interests for Dark Side players would be great as well. If this hasn't been answered, can we use Force Powers in conversations, that would allow for these kind of choices as well as others (Force Heal, for instance).
  6. I liked listening to the Twi'Leks. They had some good catch phrases.
  7. And let me use the force during Pazaak tournaments. :D Imagine using Force Persuasian or Force Choke to force the opponent to make a bad play or for that matter just using the force to cheat.
  8. My take on why they are calling them all Darth is for similarities for somewhat casual Star Wars fans to the movies and games. People who aren't up on all the EU material probably aren't aware that they weren't always called Darth. I suspect it's because LucasArts/Obsidian are aiming the game for a mass market that they made some discrepancies like this from the EU material/canon. Since I never read much of the EU books for instance, I wouldn't know this (except from reading things online).
  9. I'm all for the game being more dark in the dark side but this may mean they will be rated as M rather than T. Some stores won't carry M or more mature rated games and it is restricting the buying audience. We'll see I guess. Currently, KOTOR2 is unrated from what I have read.
  10. When a Dark Side Jedi unleashes Force Lightning on a Light Sider, will a high level Light Sider be able to absorb the lightning and redirect it back to the Dark Side Jedi, similar to the fight between Yoda and Count Dooku in Episode 2? Perhaps a lower level version of that power would be the ability to protect yourself against Force Lightning using a light saber, like how Obi Wan did against Dooku.
  11. Yes it's somewhat funny. Here's hoping that Bethesda proves all the naysayers wrong. I would like to play a good Fallout 3 game.
  12. No. You would just have fewer powers and they wouldn't be as developed.
  13. I understood it as you start out with force powers but as a level 1 Jedi.
  14. It's a different game anyway and you are not playing the same character in the sequel so I don't know what difference it makes to kill Revan. I actually hated that a character's background and history was forced on me when playing the game, even if I had full control over the character's development.
  15. If given a choice, obviously PC. But if you have the money to buy both, and most people buying a PC probably could afford the $150 for an XBox anyway, get both.
  16. They'd be better off filing for bankruptcy and Caen paying the employees out of his own pocket. If I recall, there were people claiming he even received a raise at the same time as he laid off the Black Isle employees.
  17. A similar game would be fine. However, a similar game also wouldn't be a great seller (just a good one ) so that's something to keep in mind. It seems the market is less for a game like PS:T.
  18. Exactly. Ask whoever wrote the main storyline of PS:T what kind of story he/she wants to write, and let them do it, and design a game with that. You know that some of the people at Obsidian worked on Planescape Torment? Chris Avellone, lead designer of KOTOR2, for instance was the lead designer of PST.
  19. Since when is Metallica a new band? They have been around for quite a few years. At least 10-15.
  20. They definately hyped it. The only way they didn't lie is if a completely different group worked on both games. That may true in some areas but they still had common designers like Gaider. Bottom line is they hyped it and said something that ended up not being true and disappointed a lot of gamers in the process and I am sure BioWare knew well ahead of time that it was very different in the single player OC .
  21. As did Kyle Katarn in the Jedi Knight series of games but it's not canon, just as Jolee and KOTOR isn't. So Lucas can and will ignore it.
  22. How about something with more choice? At the beginning of the game, you select whether you were Sith or Jedi in the character creation phase and it goes from there.
  23. Don't see it happening. It doesn't even sound like the main player will be able to choose to be a non Jedi class anyway. Everything else will be secondary.
  24. There should be a range of choices between light side and dark side. Not all dark siders should be as evil as Vader or the Emperor. Not all light siders should be as good as Luke. Unfortunately, I see there being only two choices, light or dark, and whether it's male or female will just adjust the final end scenes slightly.
