  1. Yes. I should be able to kick out party members and kill them anytime I want. Another area where KOTOR1 seemed to be simplified from the BG model. If you kick them out, they can always stay where they are or go back to their homeworld (or tavern) where you can pick them up later.
  2. I'd rather the new game focused mostly on the new characters and Obsidian's new story. Unless of course Revan or Malak were destroyed and reborn as Darth Sion. That would be just fine with me and an interesting twist.
  3. Of the new Force Powers we have heard of so far, they seem to be primarily Dark Side combat aggressive powers which doesn't sound promising for the Light Siders. We'll see.
  4. They would be. Force Pull at least should be feasible. Force Jump in general may be harder based on the way BioWare designed the engine. The engine is like NWN or BG so you can't go everywhere or even have REAL 3D.
  5. Maybe one of them is off the Ebon Hawk. Apparently it's deserted on Peragus at the beginning of the game and you need to repair it with T3-M4. That's your tutorial mission at the start.
  6. I know this. But Obsidian seem to be following BioWare's use of the name Darth and I think if they do that then they should use it the naming of Sith Lords and use of Darth as a title in a manner consistent with the movies. Didn't many of those lords you mentioned not have Darth in their name? I just think it would be interesting to see some deceit in terms of who the real Sith Lord is, similar to the Darth Sidious/Senator Palpatine character we see in the movie. For instance, some minor character in the game who you deal with in the end is revealed to be last Sith Lord. Along the way there are clues but some of the clues point to other people more until the very end where all the evidence is in front of you, other people have been eliminated as possibility. It could be a better revelation than the one of your character as Revan.
  7. Well then the question would be how to make Revan underpowered or even level 1 again. That's always an issue in sequels where the previous game took you to the maximum level. yes I know KOTOR2 will have some levels past 20 but not that many. Besides, it's harder for designers to develop games for just epic levels (and I think technically there isn't an Epic Level handbook yet for Star Wars D20). Rather than using a contrived reason to underpower Revan and Bastila, I prefer they use a new character in this game. Besides, I didn't like the background of the character being forced on me. Reminds me too much of Planescape Torment and PST did it better.
  8. And it was done by BioWare. That was a big factor as well. That will probably lead to Jade Empire being a big seller.
  9. Clear and Present Danger followed by Hunt for Red October. Patriot Games was the worst. Sum of All Fears was okay. But I'd rather see Harrison Ford still in these movies. I can see a Debt of Honor movie with Harrison Ford becoming President at the end (thus leading into Executive Orders). Debt of Honor may not work the same way as originally done today though.
  10. I agree. I mean come on. How drastically different will the game be with the main character choosing different classes, especially since you should be able to represent those other classes among your party. I don't expect the game to have great replay value but that's fine with me. I don't really have the time to play one game that many times. Not much time, lots of other games. Now maybe if there was a choice to be any class and not to be forced into being a Jedi I can see an interesting additional path or two there.
  11. Sounds good. Does it show it to be wielding by two hands or does it only show one hand but still apply the bonus?
  12. They Dark Jedi but aren't Sith Lords (since apparently after ROTJ there are none?) but in Jedi Academy both of the main two Dark Jedi opponents (the master and the apprentice) are female.
  13. Yep. Jango Fett was a pretty good opponent for Obi Wan in Attack of the Clones.
  14. And here I wanted to pick Scoundrel. <_< Seriously, why must we again be forced to play a Jedi class? You have other people in your party. And playing as a Bounty Hunter prestige class would be an interesting choice. I miss the BG games where you had full control over character creation and advancement.
  15. Cloth map of all the planets and main locations (and perhaps place holders for hidden locations or planets)? A paperback copy of the book Tales of the Jedi:Knights of the Old Republic (the book whose name LucasArts took for the series title) or perhaps the second book Dark Lords of the Sith?
  16. The PC collector's edition should include the extra material that will be available at launch on XBox Live for XBox owners. Only makes sense to me that the collector's edition on the PC should include that.
  17. Maybe Darth Sion is Revan or Malak or Bandon remade. That would be an interesting twist. By the way, in KOTOR1 it seemed like BioWare used the character's real names for the names of the Sith Lords but that's not the way it is in the Star Wars movies. For instance, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Senator Palpatine/Darth Sidious, Count Dooku/Darth Tyrannus. It seems a tradition for them to choose a new name upon becoming a lord of the Sith or his apprentice. Perhaps Obsidian will remember this in the sequel.
  18. Is Force Pull in the game? So you can pull and enemy towards you (perhaps into your light saber or into a hazard like a pit, lava or a land mine) and at later levels pull more enemies towards you and take their weapons as well? Force Pull is in the Jedi Knight series of games. This could also include using Force Push or Force Pull to solve some puzzles or retrieve items you normally can't retrieve.
  19. I would say it should, yes, but indicate that a location like the Leviathan is not a planet. How many discreet locations are there, discreet as in not an obvious sub area of a different location? Also, I felt some planets were larger than others. Taris, the first planet, seemed to be one of the larger ones for instance.
  20. Will there be more ways to solve many puzzles rather than just 1 light side and 1 dark side solution?
  21. So then why for that matter why in The Phantom Menace after Obi Wan relaying the battle with Darth Maul, Mace Windu (paraphrased) said "The Sith? After all this time? They were destroyed a millenium ago". Or Darth Maul's statement to Darth Sidious: "At last we shall have our revenge". Whose revenge would it be if he wasn't Sith? In Attack of the Clones, Count Dooku (aka Darth Tyrannus) said to Obi Wan (paraphrased): "The Lord of the Sith controls the Senate. Join with me and we will defeat the Sith". Later on at the end of the movie, Yoda and the others ponder this revelation. Of course it's not obvious to them yet that Palpatine is Darth Sidious. The above is all canon and not EU canon. Who is to say that Lucas won't contradict that Darth Sidious had no master at a later time? I can think of a few contradictions of EU material by Lucas. Like how Jabba the Hutt was shown in Marvel comics before ROTJ as a very different character. The reason I think was based on a cut scene from A New Hope that Marvel had seen that was later replaced with a CGI version of Jabba. However, if the Sith really were destroyed and there was no one to train Palpatine perhaps there was no other way for the legacy of the Sith to be passed down. Of course, Palpatine/Sidious and his apprentices are not true Sith but the true Sith died out millenia ago. But Palpatine and Dooku are Sith.
  22. I don't think Zabrak's are born with tattoos at birth. It's an aspect of their species to tattoo themselves but they are not born that way. The database on the Star Wars Web site I think states that Darth Maul adorned himself with Sith tattoos. He's very different than the Zabrak on the Jedi council for instance.
  23. Oh yeh I think I might remember him now. I wouldn't expect to see minor characters like that again but you never know. It's always good to flesh out minor characters in sequels.
