  1. I don't understand what terrorists have to do with illegal aliens? IIRC all of the 9/11 terrorists were in the country legally and most if not all other big terrorist attacks have been made by US citizens. I'll repost the link I edited into last post. http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/region_centr...er-into-u.s.%3F And I'm surprised some idiot hasn't proposed we give Arizona & California back to Mexico. Oh wait... someone has! http://obamacom.blogspot.com/2010/05/teach...volt-in-us.html
  2. If it turns out to be innefective its going to be because the officers refuse to enforce it. From what I've read, just the threat of passing this law cut down on illegal aliens crossing the border into Arizona and many have left for other states. Once the leak is plugged THEN we can worry about 'comprehensive immigration reform' aka amnesty for those already in the country. The Democrats seem to want to do that first... then 'maybe if they feel like it' address the real problem of an unsecure border. Next major terrorist attack in America and we will likely find out they crossed our unsecure border. Really? http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/region_centr...er-into-u.s.%3F
  3. One possible solution would be making hiring illegals heavily fined and actually enforcing it. This would make Hurlshots option #1 viable and reduce illegal aliens without the need for fences. Uh... like I just said? As for the 'average American', polls seem to show they support the new Arizona law. I have an extremely liberal family member and the one thing we can talk about and agree on as far as politics go is immigration.
  4. Seriously this kind of thinking is completely backwards. This would still leave the reason the mexicans are coming to the states: higher standard of living from low end jobs americans don't want to do. It would just make it harder and/or more expensive for the mexicans to get to the states, which would give more money to the criminal gangs who smuggle people in. You know what... I actually agree with you. Republicans want illegals for the cheap labor, Democrats for voters etc. As for the fence... it might help, but I think putting in law that are actually ENFORCED that made coming across illegally completely pointless would render the need for a fence moot. There are too many incentives for coming across illegally and things like anchor babies just increase the flood. You set the fines steep enough for employers who hire illegals and actually crack down on them, unlike the rare show raid Janet Nepalitano performed and they stop coming. My step-Grandfather spent years preparing to come here legally from Japan. The current situation is just an insult to those who came here legally.
  5. This is essentially Mexico shipping it's poverty over the border. Does any country in the world put up with that? We have the legal immigration process for a reason. Even if you buy into the bleeding heart 'oh they just come for a better life' etc, look at the prison statistics, the deaths by illegal aliens both on purpose (drug cartels. Phoenix has highest kidnap rate in the country) and accident (drunk driving), the drains on our school, medical and legal systems and its clear that the bad far outweighs the good. Yet foreign idiots continue to call us racist etc. while maintaining their own brutally difficult exclusionary immigration policies. It drives me nuts and I'm so proud of Gov. Jan Brewer for the recent Arizona law.
  6. How exactly is that some sort of hypocrisy? Someone on death row has had a chance at life and has taken the lives of other's in, usually horrific means and would likely continue. I suppose those who oppose the death penalty yet are for abortions are ok with you.
  7. I made the mistake of wasting my time on Titan Quest, getting 80-90% through the game only to get to a boss fight where I would die, respawn a couple of miles away and have to make a ridiculously epic hike back to the boss only to die within 5 seconds. After about 20 times of this, spending I rage quit and was GLAD that Iron Lore shut down.
  8. One word: Daikatana. The bugs are too numerous to mention but one that springs to the top is AI that would get stuck in the environment. You would clear the level, get to the exit and the game wouldn't allow you to continue. Going back you would find a companion running at a wall with no way to get them to 'snap out of it'.
  9. She is super-human so she doesn't have to worry about them flying out of her hands or bonking her on the nose.
  10. Its been 105-110 (42-43 degrees Celsius) in Tucson & Phoenix. The airconditioner in my car decided to crap out so I'm in hell anytime I drive. I heard in Phoenix 20 years ago this day it was 122. Kind of a cool website for Americans who don't know Fahrenheit to Celsius or the rest of the crazy world who uses Celsius. http://www.wbuf.noaa.gov/tempfc.htm
  11. Acti is probably trying to improve their current horrible rep with gamers. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/110/1100747p1.html Gonna have to take a bit more than this for me to be happy about them.
  12. Misheard lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WD7_YfOQCb8
  13. I loved season 2! They did have one horrible musical episode though. That wasn't bad enough, but the episode did absolutely nothing to advance the characters, plot or even produce some laughs as a comedy episode. I really liked the episode where
  14. I recently picked up an original XBox for a great price (I had purchased a few original xbox games to play on my 360 but found the emulation to be... lacking) and I picked up some of the top down ARPGs for it. D&D Heroes, Dark Alliance 1 & 2, Fallout BoS & Hunter: The Reckoning. I have to say I've enjoyed playing them and these types of games are sorely missing on recent systems. Still not to excited about the Dungeon Siege setting though. Its one of the more fantasy RPG settings I've seen.
  15. Heard this on the radio, so take it with a grain of salt, but I heard that troops that called for flare rounds to be fired during a night skirmish (so the area would be lit up and they could spot their attackers) were denied the shot because the shell might fall on a civilian. I'm so glad I didn't join the army after high school. I don't think I could have taken this kind of ridiculousness. The commanders are more worried about civilian casualties than the lives of our soldiers. Ah... here it is. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...0061803760.html
  16. I really enjoyed their remake of Kings Quest 1 & 2 (KQ 2 & Space Quest 2 were my first games ever along with Lode Runner), so I have to admit I'm interested.
  17. There is a mod for Far Cry that allows you to save any time you want. This completely changed how I felt about the game (for the better).
  18. Is this true? How did Bethesda get away with this? Doesn't that fact alone make the game completely broken? Holy ****... I tried a mod on the PC version that made you as vulnerable as you normally are and I died numerously in VATS, but I don't recal dying at any point during a VATS moment without mods/on the XBox version. Despite this, I still died a number of times in the game. If Fallout 3 is considered 'comletely broken', its one of the best 'completely broken' games I've ever played.
  19. The first two top down GTAs pretty much sucked. It wasn't until the series went 3d with GTA 3 that the series really took off (for good reason). Every major GTA from 3 onwards has been fantastic for it's time. You can jump into GTA IV with no knowledge of the previous games. There are no recurring characters or events. Each numbered sequel represents a sort of era. GTA III, Vice City & San Andreas are all connected and share characters and a timeline, while GTA IV starts over from scratch. I can't really recommend GTA IV enough. The city feels alive, the main characters are actually likable opposed to the thugs from previous games, fantastic voice acting, a good crime drama story, great music (though my fav soundtrack is Vice City), the best physics in video games period, excellent action sequences & fun multiplayer.
  20. This is one of those rare occasions where I think the game absolutely deserves it's score. In fact I'd give RDR a perfect 10. Also... new coop mission trailer and it comes out tomorrow! http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusiv...red-dead/700835
  21. How is it? Its on sale on xbla for 5 bucks right now.
  22. While I didn't speak up in the 'Killian is Dead' thread, I did follow it and I wish I had said some words of encouragement. It sounded like he was doing better for himself as time went on. Condolences to friends and family.
  23. Bethesda... Obsidian... Next Fallout games... idTech 5. Do it.
  24. As always the voice acting and production values are top of the line. It mixes a creepy atmosphere, some hovertank action and geth shooting together. The highlight for me is the ending which got extremely crazy, cool and freaky. Casey Hudson does a better job previewing it. Some slight spoilers. Analysis: Defenseless herbivores are no match for guided missiles.
  25. Overlord DLC is out today. Slowly downloading it now.
