I decided to peak at multiplayer and ended up spending about 6 hours straight with it. I guess R* wasn't content just making an awesome single player, they had to go and make an awesome multiplayer too. It doesn't hurt that I was pwning noobz left and right, spinning my gun at the end of most of the matches while my character hurled old timey insults at my victims. -

There is actually quite a bit of cool stuff to get. Survival maps that will mark all plants within your vicinity, bait to lure animals (I finally tried it and a couple of bucks came along to rub on the scent), apples & other items to restore horse stamina, deeds to NUMEROUS breeds of horses and donkeys which you can also break in the wild and weapons (they unlock based on certain percentages of game or activity completion, haven't quite figured it out yet). The guns all look and perform great and feel different from each other. There are old revolvers and newer semi-automatics like a German Mauser pistol (the game does take place in 1911). I don't think you can buy wagons, though there are numerous opportunities to get them from waylaid individuals and bandits. There are cool outfits, but you have to complete various quests and activities to aquire them. The game gives you a list of things to do, from winning at poker in a certain town to beating a story mission and it will check these off. Once all are checked off the uniform is yours. One thing I love is that the game's preorder bonus, a pretty sweet 'dead-eye' outfit straight off the villain from Once Upon a Time in the West actually requires work to get. Most preorder bonuses feel like cheats immediately given to the player at the start. As for prostitutes, they are everywhere, but you can't 'use' their services as Marston is actually the honorable/faithful type in matters of the heart. Sure, he'll gladly blast a whole town away if you want, but he wont cheat on his wife. Speaking of prostitutes, they are constantly getting in trouble. People are always trying to stab them or carry them off into the desert. -

I've seen some in the trailer, but I haven't run into any yet and I'm about 50% into the game according to the stats after 19 hours of play. There is a section in the northwest called 'the great plains' and I'm betting I'll run into them up there. I've currently made it across the border to Mexico and I'm playing both sides in a revolutionary war. The guns in the game are awesome for any history buffs. http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Red_Dead_Redemption I got pretty excited when I was able to buy a Browning Auto 5. I love that the game doesn't make shotguns completely useless at more than 20 feet away. -
Wait... in a battle or the bedroom? Ack! I was thinking of that other multi-armed hindu goddess... I don't think Kratos swings that way.

While I'm currently glued to Red Dead Redemption, there is a new patch out for ME2 (atleast on the 360) that makes me VERY happy! http://www.gametrailers.com/news/mass-effe...tch-speeds/2076 "According to Dtoid, the patch delivers a larger, faster scanning reticule and the planets themselves will rotate noticeably quicker. Nice" Nice indeed, and about time if I do say so myself!

I had about 3 innocents hanged before I got good enough to shoot the rope off of the victims necks. Its so incredible watching the wildlife interact in the world. I remember early on when I visited a little farm. I hung out just to admire the gorgeous scenery and watch the farmer work grinding away at a table, then I heard yelping and saw a pack of coyotes rush through the farm and grab chickens. The farmer yelled angrily and pulled out a pistol managing to kill one as the pack ran away with their meals. I just stood there with my mouth open at the unscripted event. -

Been messing around with Red Dead for the past few hours. Did a few story missions but most of the time has been spent kicking dogs, shooting wildlife, hogtieing citizens and dropping them off at the train tracks, off cliffs, lassoing people and dragging them behind my horse, pushing people down stairs/off cliffs. The game is fantastic... all the stuff you can do to cause trouble, the physics, the wildlife... speaking of wildlife... I noticed some movement in the brush, figured it was a coyote so I hopped off my horse to blast it and to my shock it turned out to be a cougar which proceeded to maul me to death. I'll be more cautious next time. Another awesome moment was starting a fist fight in town which escelated into a gunfight, I then ran out towards the train tracks, saw a train coming by and managed to actually leap into one of the cargo containers, then I climed outside and onto the roof, only too have the train pull into the station where I had a last stand against a pissed off town. It wasn't the best escape route. I HATE leaving the game, but my day tomorrow is going to be miserable enough as is with what little sleep I'm going to be getting tonight. It was totally worth it though. -

Last time I did was for Resident Evil 5. I'm so going to regret this in the morning at work. Maybe I can get mysteriously ill and call in sick for work tomorrow... -

Who will be the Tali of this game?

I didn't really care if Sis was romanceable or not until it was mentioned she might be the daugher of a character. Maybe she could be the daughter of a major villain. Villain: "Mike, you have fallen for my trap!" Mike: "Yeah, well I shagged your daughter!" Villain: *sputter* -

I actually prefer World at War to either Modern Warfare 1 or 2. Releasing a pack of rabid dogs on the enemy team beats the heck out of aim bot helicopters.

Flash Forward cancelled!? NOOOOOOOOO! That show was actually getting pretty good. Can 24 be considered 'cancelled'? I thought that it had been planned to end for a while. Maybe not as long as Lost. Either way they will probably make a 24 movie. Loved the show but it was getting a bit too repetitive. I'm surprised that Human Target was renewed for another season (in a good way). Kind of a fun throwback to 80s action/thriller movies. It seems like they spend a lot for stunts and effects and I had a feeling it wasn't drawing enough viewers. Glad to see Fringe coming back as well. Other than the weak musical/story episode a few weaks ago it has been really good.

So... whats the objective anyway? Blast all the sperm and diseases some filthy trollop keeps getting from unprotected sex? Is there a button you can press to have your little micro-vagina-commando shout 'HEY! Lady! You could make my job a LOT easier by wearing some protection!'

GTA IV received perfect 10s at IGN.com & GameSpot.com. When I first saw the scores I rolled my eyes, but when I finally played the game it was the first time I agreed with a reviewer giving a game a 10. GTA IV was not only my favorite GTA game to date but one of my favorite games to date. While I can understand some of the complaints, 'Niko! It's your cousin! You want to go shoot some pool?', the game just did almost everything right. I actually liked the main character in a GTA game for once, the story was interesting, I liked the tone of the game, the physics are mind boggling, the gunplay is almost on par with an actual 3d action shooter game, the voice acting and sound were all phenomenal. Red Dead looks to have all that great stuff in a setting that I love... only 4 days left! -
Proof that you can, in fact, polish crap.

I believe I used the word punk, and yes the 200 kids who marched are also being punks. Do you really believe these 5 students just innocently showed up with US flag bandanna's and matching T-shirts? They just happened to all coordinate their wardrobes on this day? You have a series of bad decisions being made here. It started when these 5 boys decided to synchronize their clothing on a day of a Mexican Heritage Celebration. All parties should be held accountable. One of the mothers (of a half caucasian half mexican student) interviewed said the shirt worn by him on that day is worn constantly in the household by both the father on one day and the son on another day. "Dariano said her son has at least four T-shirts with American flags that he wears often and did not try to cause any conflict at school." ' Eugene Volokh, a professor of law at the University of California-Los Angeles, said the students are protected under California Education Code 48950, which prohibits schools from enforcing a rule subjecting a high school student to disciplinary sanctions solely on the basis of conduct, that when engaged outside of campus, is protected by the First Amendment. If the school could point to previous incidents sparked by students who wore garments with American flags, they could argue that the flag is likely to lead to "substantial disruption," Volokh said. "If, for example, there had been fights over similar things at past events, if there had been specific threats made," he said. "But if [school officials] just say, 'Well, we think it might be offensive to people,' that's generally speaking not enough." Volokh said the students and their parents likely have a winning case on their hands if they decide to take the matter to court. "Oh yes, it's almost open and shut," he said. Lis Wiehl, a former federal prosecutor and a Fox News legal analyst, said the incident appears to a "blatant" violation of the students' First Amendment right to free speech. She noted that inciting violence is an exception to a First Amendment legal defense, but Wiehl said she saw no indications that the students provoked anyone. "Unless I'm missing something, this seems like a blatant violation of the First Amendment," said Wiehl, adding that uniforms are not required at the public school. "And they're wearing, of all horrific things, the American flag." '

More Red Dead stuff to drool over. New trailer. Not one of the 'informative documentary' type trailers, but still cool. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusiv...-red-dead/65299 Announcement of first DLC, coop missions which best of all, will be free. http://www.gametrailers.com/news/red-dead-...tion-first/2039 An IGN article on Red Dead. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/108/1088375p1.html Favorite parts of the article: "I started out small. A few drinks at the saloon and a bar fight later, I stumbled out into the night looking for some easy money. I ran into an old crazy lady begging me to help her find a man named Peter, but that seemed like too much work so I shot her and moved on. And just like that, my honor meter went down by five points. It would take a few dozen more bullets to innocents to gain some real notoriety, but if there is one thing that Red Dead Redemption has it is a lot of innocents to toy with." "Take, for instance, the sorts of things you can do with a lasso. You gain this little tool during a mission that teaches you the ins and outs of breaking a wild horse, but you can aim the rope ring at people, too. I went to the saloon and found a prostitute, hog-tied her and then slung her over my shoulder to take for a ride. She didn't take too kindly to this treatment, screaming out obscenities like, "There are other ways to a girl's heart, you ass!" along the way. I responded by leaving her on a train track." "The most fun comes thanks to the epic animations Red Dead Redemption produces. Shooting or knifing people and animals invariably results in hilarity. During my travels I did everything from uppercutting a cow with a bowie knife to killing so many lawmen as they entered a saloon that they were stumbling over their predecessor's body pile. You don't even have to kill anybody to have some fun. Just drawing your gun on an innocent walking down the road will startle them into a funny reaction. My favorite was a man sitting with his legs up on a table. When I trained my sights on him he fell over backwards into a piano."

An interesting article about piracy

I don't really think that is a good example. There was a lot of worry about the sequel. New developer, play as a big daddy, early reviews that said it was more linear than the first and the story wasn't as good. Personally, I enjoyed the first but from what I've heard of the second I've had little interest or motivation to get it, atleast not until the price drops quite a bit. -
I was so hoping you were talking about some sort of fan/official remake of Fallout 1.

All non-African people have Neanderthal DNA
GreasyDogMeat replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
What I find most shocking is that some people pronounce it neander TALL and not neander THAWL. What is up with these crazies!? -
Making them remove their bandanas (did they all wear bandanas)? Sure. It isn't standard school attire. Turning their shirts inside out? Idiotic. If you have seen shots of one of the kids' shirts it isn't even a massive flag but a rather small flag on the front of the shirt. I have a feeling this was just some butt-hurt hispanic teacher pmsing over the recent Arizona law trying to take it out on students.
-
I find it disturbing that this was even an issue... that people even noticed it. When I first heard this story, I figured the news media was witholding information. That the shirts had something else on them besides just a flag... something like 'go home Mexicans' or something else inflamatory. No... just the flag. How offensive.
-
What a load. Would this happen if students wore shirts with the American flag on St. Patrick's Day? I don't think so.

Don't forget Thomas Jane (who also played The Punisher in the movie).
