Its kind of a mix between Team Fortress 2 (art style as well)/Enemy Territory games, Mirror's Edge (bounding about environment) & Borderlands with a level system. You can also watch the video at IGN. http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/1434912...iler_31110.html

I'm normally not a big fan of CGI trailers as they don't show any actual real gameplay, but this Brink CGI trailer is fantastic! http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gdc-10-brink/63040

Don't know what to say but my save games don't lie. Our only difference as far as ME 1 goes is I did the collection quests as I honestly don't mind driving around the planets. That would probably account for our time differences. As far as ME 2 goes I took my time but I never felt like I was going slowly. I enjoyed talking to the companions etc. I really don't know why you clocked between 20-30 and I hit 46. Again, I take my time and chat to everyone and try to hit 100%. I did end up wasting time planet scanning, but I didn't waste THAT much time.

A cool one?

You will find tons of haters here, but I loved the game myself. You might consider checking out some of the Xbox live arcade titles. I've enjoyed Castle Crashers, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Puzzle Quest & Shadow Complex (This one has received heaps of praise).

That would be one way of improving it. I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of trading system where you could minerals for each other with each mineral being worth a certain amount. Here is a handy guide to mining in Mass Effect 2. http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/index.php/201...-to-mining.html I never thought of hunting down children to force them to mine for you... brilliant!
-
Game Informer Magazine "It seems to take a long time to mine for minerals, and the mechanics for that section of the game aren't very compelling. Did you consider changing up the mechanics for mining or adding more upgrades that would make the process more fluid? Is there any chance that a future patch or DLC could make mining faster?" +1 for Game Informer Magazine. Casey Hudson's Response "We've had lots of feedback on the orbital minigame, and a frequent comment is that it's 'strangely addictive.' We keep an eye on player suggestions for tuning however, so it's certainly a possibility that we could include adjustments to the speed or balance in a future patch or title update." STRANGELY ADDICTIVE!? Frequent comment!? What is wrong with people? I'm guessing this is kind of like a proctologist saying 'some of my patients enjoyed the checkup'. Some being that one weird guy. Well... I'm hoping for that patch/dlc that makes the process less tedius.

I take my time with both exploring and the average is above 40 hours. Unless you are skipping through cutscenes or skipping exploring planets there is no reason it wouldn't take up to 40 hours. I'll have to check my save files again, as I think I finished ME2 just shy of 40 hours. While that makes it sound like ME2 is a smaller game, MUCH more time is spent actually questing, chatting & fighting etc while a lot of time is 'lost' in ME1 riding elevators and driving in the Mako. Just checked my saves. Very first playthrough of ME1 with a renegade - 40 hours. Second of ME1 with a Paragon - 45 hours. (I think the increase in time was completing more side quests that as a renegade I would just blow off) First playthrough of ME2 - 46 hours! I'm actually kind of surprised. I got more time out of the sequel than the original, even with all of the original's padding. Honestly, I think people claiming 20-30 are skipping tons of stuff and/or aren't exploring.

Been plenty of other reviews to base a decision on. I go to Yahtzee for laughs, not for actual game reviews I'll base a purchase on.
-
Wow, Yahtzee was a LOT less harsh to AvP than I thought he would be.

Fallout 3 will take the longest about 120 hours with expansions if you do everything, Call of Duty 4 the shortest. You have a choice of some great games. GTA 4 just blew me away and I recently completed another playthrough where I finally got 100%. Took about 50 hours + 15 a piece for the expansions. Mass Effect 1 & 2 take about 40-50 hours each.

I'd say its worth getting just for the new classes/spells/awesome new music/etc. If you have played older RPGs like Pool of Radiance this expansion will feel like a walk down memory lane. You create an entire party of your own characters and guide them across a large map finding new locations etc. Its kind of like Heroes of Might and Magic meets Neverwinter Nights. My personal opinion is much more positive, but this review breaks down the new features. http://www.gamebanshee.com/reviews/29316-n...-of-zehir-.html Did I mention Storm of Zehir has awesome music?

He is actually right about that. 'Cause they are either hanged or they flee the country for their lives.

I think Portal is an example of how important a good ending is. For me, it was an enjoyable game, but the ending ranks up among one of the best I've seen in a game. The final battle, the humor, the ending song just left me very satisfied. When I actually think about it though, most of the game up to that point had just been... ok. Not great or anything, enjoyable but not amazing.

I agree to an extent. All the little details in GTA IV really make the city feel alive, but I never really worried about that stuff in the Fallout series though. We're talking about giant scorpions and jolly green giant super mutants.

RE5: Desperate Escape is out (since yesterday). Unlike Lost in Nightmares, it is total action from start to finish. Like Lost in Nightmares its pretty short, around 30-60 minutes. Red Dead Redemption has been delayed a bit less than a month. Not long, but DAMN IT! I want this game NOW! http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/107/1073859p1.html Sounds like they need more time for 'marketing'. Hopefully this is not a symptom of something else being wrong and another delay coming out. Also, there is a demo out (atleast on 360) today for Just Cause 2. Wasn't too impressed with the first but I think I'll give it a try.

Infinity Ward founders canned by Activision
GreasyDogMeat replied to GreasyDogMeat's topic in Computer and Console
One of the things that irritated me about MW 2 was -
I was getting fairly jealous of PS3 owners, but the more I watched of preview vids the more it looked like one long stream of quick-time events. I hated them enough in Resident Evil 4, I can't imagine going through a whole game of it.

Infinity Ward founders canned by Activision

Bah, Calax already made a thread about this. Random game news... why not specific game news? -
Apparently Jason West & Vince Zampella have been fired for 'breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward' http://www.gamespot.com/news/6252657.html?...adlines;title;4 'After said meeting, the Infinity Ward heads reportedly vanished--and a group of gruff "bouncer types" suddenly appeared on Infinity Ward's campus outside Encino, Calif. The source allegedly said the men refused to say why they had shown up unannounced, leaving the developers "freaked out." ' Don't piss of Activision, or they'll send hitmen to ****ing kill you!

Deadly Premonition is even better than Heavy Rain. http://www.destructoid.com/deadly-premonit...in-165288.phtml For once, Lord of Flies is 100% correct and not trolling!

Never been a fan of kart racers, but I have to say I'm getting a bit of nostalgic excitement over Sonic 4. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/debut-tr...onic-4-ep/61578 Sonic 3 + Sonic & Knuckles combined was, imho, the pinnacle of side scrolling platformers.

Just don't watch the sequel.
