Oh please, if anyone on this forum has been a 'victim' in the Fallout 'vs' discussions it has been people who enjoy Fallout 3. You get called a retard here if you like Fallout 3.

Being a huge fan of id software Rage was already a must buy for me... so it doesn't take much extra hype to get me even more interested.

Rage isn't coming out till 2011, but it is sounding excellent! http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/108/1087379p1.html

Aren't they planning on making this a game? I could of sworn I'd heard of some sort of Del Toro zombie/vampire game in the works...

You know, even if Red Dead turns out as good as my wildest expectations it will still share one major blemish that all western games have... it wont have the soundtrack from the Dollars Trilogy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsMivr9zlk0 -
I haven't played it in a long time and it may show it's age to someone who is playing it for the first time in 2010, but the game was incredible for it's time and there is good reason it constantly pops up high on 'top 100 games of all time' lists.

Is the wild west really an 'unpopular time frame'? Am I the only one here who grew up on movies like The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, Fist Full of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More? I think the wild west is a fantastic setting for games. Then again, most wild west games have been average at best. The best western games I've played have been Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, Gun & LucasArts' Outlaws. Of those, Outlaws was the only outstanding game for it's time. The other two were enjoyable but flawed games. From all I've seen so far, I think RDR is going to be the best western game to date. Admittedly, not a major feat considering it's competition. -

I missed 24 last night, so I'm watching it on Hulu. 'The following is brought to you with limited commercial interruption by Alpha Protocol'. -

It took a while to get used to it, but once I did I honestly found the rampages/chases/cop harassment far more fun in GTA IV with the new car physics and that is saying a lot considering how much I liked it in previous GTAs. High speed crashes that send Niko/Johnny/Luis out of the window never get old. -
Did you play Battlefield Vietnam? Did you download the free Battlefield 1942 pacific add on for it? Basically the same levels except on the same engine as Battlefield Bad Company which means destructable buildings and cover. I think they dumbed it down a bit too much though. You have infinite ammo for ALL weapons including bazookas in grenades. Not quite as horrible as it sounds: You get 3 rockets for your rocket launcher, once you fire/reload all 3 you then have to wait about 20-30 seconds to get another 3 rockets. Also, the classes have been combined to make 3 classes from the original 4-5. Also, to be a bit of a geek, I find it incredibly annoying that they don't give the Japanese their actual rifle. Why are they using a German Mauser? Just skin an Arisaka rifle. It would work identically!

New video up on Red Dead Redemption's Multiplayer modes. While I'm most interested in the single player the multiplayer is looking excellent as well. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gameplay...-red-dead/64784

My initial reaction to him was 'what the hell is going on here?'. Once I figured out that the Overall I had a great time with the movie and I wish more sci-fi epics like it were being made.

Game starts out fantastic, but becomes a very dull & repetitive Diablo clone during second half. Just couldn't find the will to go on.) * 2003-09-16 - Temple of Elemental Evil (Made it to the final boss and gave up. Wasn't crazy about the game to begin with) * 2003-11-19 - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic * 2003-12-02 - Deus Ex: Invisible War 2004 * 2004-11-16 - Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2005 * 2005-02-15 - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords * 2005-04-12 - Jade Empire * 2005-08-16 - Dungeon Siege II (Didn't make it very far but played for a bit) 2006 * 2006-03-17 - Fable: The Lost Chapters * 2006-03-20 - Oblivion * 2006-06-26 - Titan Quest (Beat the main game but gave up during Immortal Throne. Dying over and over at a boss and having to hike for 10 minutes to get back to the fight and lose again was not fun) * 2006-12-08 - Neverwinter Nights 2 2007 * 2007-09-28 - Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer * 2007-11-20 - Mass Effect 2008 * 2008-10-28 - Fallout 3 * 2008-11-18 - Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir

Is it the commercial that seems to be focused exclusively on the GameStop pre-order? As for 24, -
Pandorum, a sci-fi horror movie. It was surprisingly good with some twists I didn't see coming.

Can understand the complaint. Recently I played Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood part of the game takes place in Tucson. I noticed something immediately... something was missing that I see everywhere here... Saguaro cactus. http://drewbrophy.com/site/wp-content/uplo...uaro-cactus.jpg Its absolutely everywhere in Tucson, but the Tucson in the game looks like generic desert with a few shrubs here and there.

And they can stick it deeply in their ass, unless they drop the ridiculously retarded DRM... And the MMORPG part.

Monday: 24 Tuesday: Lost & V Wednesday: Human Target Thursday: Flash Forward & Fringe Friday: Stargate Universe Seven shows in all. Maybe I'm watching too many shows at once, but I've never seen so many shows actually worth watching all on at once.

...is the only logical conclusion to be succesful these days. There was really no need to resurrect a dead franchise for a succesful FPS though, not to mention that Turn Based Strategy Game still exist and still make profits. @GreasyDogMeat : Wasn't THAT in fact, the reason why the franchise died in the first place? Perhaps, but you could say the same (or very similar) for Fallout 3. A well received franchise gets crummy side story games that deviate from the original, series appears dead and is later revitalized in a very different style than the originals with the only disapointed gamers being the hardcore fans of the original. I'm guessing this new XCom is going to go through a similar experience. Hardcore XCom fans will scream that it is 'XCom in name only' yet the game will sell like hot cakes and receive high ratings from reviewers and 'average gamers'. Then again... the game could turn out to be utter trash hated by all. Too early to tell.
