Rockstar Asks For Favorable Reviews
GreasyDogMeat replied to Bos_hybrid's topic in Computer and Console
Check out the videos on Gametrailers.com. If they don't get you excited then gaming may not be your thing. By all means though, pan, denigrate and generally mock ROCKSTAR. Its kind of like boycotting The Dark Knight because you heard Nolan/Bale are jerks. The only thing you are doing is cheating yourself out of a good thing. http://www.gametrailers.com/game/red-dead-redemption/11275 -
Rockstar Asks For Favorable Reviews

That might be true, but they describe situations that reflect their excitement in these previews. Even if the previews were 'fixed' the video previews have looked outstanding. Watching the horses muscles as it runs... the physics, weather, setting, voice acting... the game can't be released soon enough! If anyone seems to be trying to sabotage interest in the game it is Rockstar themselves with their recent delay for 'exposure', 'wives letter' and this 'review begging'. Despite Rockstar making themselves look like jackasses, the game is looking so fantastic if it were revealed multiple developers had been whipped to death to make the game I'd still end up buying it because it looks so damn awesome! -
Even Manhunt isn't a good comparison, as the people you off in the game are psychos out for your blood. A violent game that would be comparable to RapeLay would be one just like Manhunt, except instead of stabbing/choking/etc violent murderers/psychos/etc you went around brutally and realisticly killed children. I don't know much about Japanese porn/rape games, but I've heard there are plenty of them, yet almost all of the outrage has been aimed at this RapeLay. I think that boils down to the brutal rape, tears and all of a VERY young girl and there just isn't anything to really compare it to as far as violence goes. From what I've read of the game, I don't know how anyone could play RapeLay and not feel disgusted with themselves. That may be the very point though.

Every word of every preview article and every moment of every video preview for Red Dead Redemption has looked fantastic. I haven't looked forward to a game this much in ages. Why are they begging reviewers for a good score!? -
I laughed so hard at that I was in tears.

Article slams MW 2 'Stimulus Package'
GreasyDogMeat replied to GreasyDogMeat's topic in Computer and Console
When the numbers are put there just like this, it's insane to see how little value DLC provides for the cost. It would actually be $110 as there were 5 DLC add ons priced at $10 a piece. I didn't have a problem with the F3 DLC as it came out quite a while after the main game and was spaced out. It will cost you less to get the game later in a GOTY pack but thats true of any game, DLC or not. By the time the GoTY edition came out vanilla F3 was $20-30. You would still be saving money getting that edition, but not much. IMHO, Bethesda is a prime example of the best DLC has to offer and the worst. Horse Armor is synonymous with crap rip-off DLC while Point Lookout was one a large add-on with a great new area and some of the best quests in F3, well worth the asking price. The absolute pinnacle of DLC is, IMHO, GTA IV DLC The Lost & Damned & Ballad of Gay Tony. These feel less like DLC and more like the classic expansion pack as far as content goes. I'd like to see DLC move in this direction. Basically, everything old is new again start releasing 'expansion packs' that might cost $20-30 a pop but are actually worth every penny of it instead of milking players for map/skin packs. -

An opinion piece that I pretty much agree with whole-heartedly. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/108/1081389p1.html The article focuses on the ridiculous price of the map pack and 'unlockable' dlc that basically came on a game's disc but you pay to activate. You know, for instance, if you purchase a new bit of DLC and the file size is tiny for what is being offered, you basically just purchased the right to use something that was already on the disc.

Have to admit thats a good illusion. I saved the image from wikipedia, opened it in MS paint and used the dropper & fill tool and it is indeed the same color.

I think this has happened quite a few times. I'm not sure what the outcomes are though.

From January 07' A humerous 'review' of Rapelay from somethingawful.com "At a Glance: In the past Hentai games have often catered to casual rape enthusiasts. These are perfectly normal folks like you, me and your next door neighbor who only leaves his apartment to buy canned meat and plastic tarps. I like to think of this audience as the "beer and pretzel" rape gamer. They're interested in a fun "pick up and play" rape game and they don't want to get bogged down in details. Then there are the rape grognards who want a rape simulator to be as realistic as possible. They want it to include accidental pregnancies, crying, abortion, threat of murder, fuel mixture, full elevator control, and pre-rape start-up checks. RapeLay is the grognard's rape simulator. It is the Falcon 4.0 of rape." It should be obvious that this link is for 18+. http://www.somethingawful.com/d/hentai-gam...ews/rapelay.php

I submit that 'Humans were drinking alcohol five thousand years ago. And they're still drinking it now. Alcohol is humanity's friend. Can I abandon a friend?' is not a translation failure, but the wisest thing a person has ever said.

Hydrophobia. Never heard of it before but I guess it has been in the works for some time. It looks kind of interesting. Some kind of disaster/survival game about a sinking ship where you have to deal with water. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/illusion...drophobia/63672

No wonder I haven't heard about it... big friggin' deal. Since when is calling someone a 'freak' racist? I'm beginning to think you are a freak for your nutty ideas. Ahmedinejad is a bigot and a liar and you compare him to someone who calls the President of Turkey a freak!? I've called my own President worse. Not only that many world leaders have spoken badly of the U.S. Guess, what, I don't foam at the mouth and call racism or chant lets invade their country. I didn't when it was a President I liked either. As for the situation in India, it is hard to judge from that link. India has had problems for years. http://www.gendercide.org/case_infanticide.html I do find it ironic that someone from Istanbul, Turkey is judging India as far as mistreatment of women goes. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/feb/0...ed-alive-turkey http://honorkillingislam.blogspot.com/ http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/eu...ing-871822.html

I find such methods of protesting(finger staff) immature and primitive for whatever reason you protest something. Also I have summed up the laws of Iran and homosexuals are not approved in that country, maybe that's why he said such a thing, but I agree that despising or insulting any country which approves homosexuals was a political mistake for him, however, after seeing some European leaders making bigger mistakes like calling the president of Turkey as a 'f***k', such a mistake from Ahmedinejad is forgivable for me. Let me remind you that Israel is almost a hell for its non-Jew, especially Muslim citizens. If you insist, I can also remind you that it is 'legal' to use women instead of cows in the farm in India. I can add more easily if you wish. Those are bigger tragedies, but however, are being consciously ignored maybe because those countries are allies with the countries who have an Islam obsession. He isn't just insulting countries which tolerate (tolerance is a key word here) homosexuals, but lying/being ignorant of his countries murder of them. Its kind of like the Nazis with Jews. Really, if you find someone calling the president of turkey a ****** to be on the same level as Ahmedinejad then you have serious issues. As for the second part... please elaborate on women being used instead of cows. Are they working women hard or... milking them?

I think you are critisizing the Islamic rules with which Iran is ruled. As you may know, Iran is an Islamic Country which is ruled with sheriat which in general means the rules rooting from Islamic laws that are made according to Kuran. In such a case, resisting to spread homosexually or resisting to stay in a location which by law forbids homosexuals to live in is a crime. And according to Islamic laws, there are punishments to crimes like leashing or hanging. If I am not wrong, if you steal something, your hand is cut. Those are laws originating directly from religion and were being applied throughout middle age in the Islamic Empires where Muslims and Christs lived peacefully in. Gorth emphasises repeatedly that if Muslims do not like the rules of Denmark, they must leave, we cannot change our rules for them. If you support such an opinion, you have no right to ask Iran to change its laws according to your demands. I must also remind you that Israel is also a country which is heavily managed according to religious rules which Talmud dictates, but interestingly noone is complaining about this or about the other countries being governed according to religious rules maybe because no Christ country is within the imaginary borders of promised land extremist Jews believes. All in all, again, Ahmedinejat cannot be kept responsible for the crime claims of homosexuals under the light of those. I think comparing Ahmedinejat with KKK is far too harsh. I hope you get rid of your obsession on Islamic rules as you seem not to have recognized the far too harsher rules other religions have applied throughout the human history and still have been applying recently. Thats what I'm criticizing am I? See, he didn't say 'my country has laws about homosexuals, we kill them'. He said Iran has no homosexuals and that it is a 'western phenomenon'. "In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country, In Iran we do not have this phenomenon, I don't know who has told you that we have it," LMAO @ 'I don't know who has told you that we have it'. Again, for the nth time... he is either an ignorant mouth piece, or he lies about his countries disgusting practices and deserves a million middle fingers from a million women. Also, it is rather humerous that you come back with the 'OH, lots of religions and goverments have done disgusting things in the past, so whats the big deal if Iran does it right now?'. Maybe you have some example that comes close in America... besides conspiracy theories about the lunar landing being faked and NY jews being responsible for 9-11.
