I disagree. I certainly don't remember people's faces taking 30+ seconds for their textures to pop in playing Mass Effect 1. This happened multiple times during cutscenes. It was really odd at times with certain peoples faces loading and looking great and one or two faces looking like someone had thrown water at a painting. Even if my memory is faulty and ME1 did have worse pop-in, its still disapointing to see a new U3 Engine game with this problem when most of the newer ones have fixed the problem almost completely. Its not a game killer but its really distracting.

Israel butchers civilians in international waters
GreasyDogMeat replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
Right, so after being viciously driven off the boat they should just pack up and leave not knowing what was on the boat? With the kind of response the commandoes received it was entirely within reason to assume they were violent for a reason and were carrying something other/more than aid (Hamas has been shipping bomb making equipment and weapons into Gaza for some time now including placing sodium nitrate in bags marked sugar). In defending their country they fell for a Hamas PR trick to paint them as thugs. The real thugs here are the terrorists trying to become martyrs. Its easy for the bleeding hearts here sitting behind their computer screens to condemn Israel when they don't live under the constant threat of suicide bombers and rocket attacks and then have to deal with the BS fallout after they strike back and the Hamas terrorists hide behind women and children from their points of attack, then cry like *****es to the rest of the world when Israel fires back. Something Hamas is brilliant at, playing the victim when they are disgusting monsters who use their own women and children as collateral damage for sympathy. The real tragedy here is that the terrorist ploy worked like a charm. Just look at the international outcry and the mindless drones who immediately condemn Israel without the full story. -

When in doubt, immediately blame it on Israel. No, really, do it every time! How about reading my last post, homie? -

http://en.rian.ru/world/20100601/159241736.html Israel has no idea what is on the ship... and suddenly they are attacked when they board by people purposely planning to do so to cause an international stink and stir up bleeding heart fools who are falling for this Hamas PR ploy hook line and sinker. I'd say they were within their rights to defend themselves when they were pummeled with lead pipes, attacked with knives and shoved off the ship. http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/wo...cefulq-flotilla "The Israelis who rappelled onto the Mavi Marmara were confronted by men with knives, clubs, and other potentially fatal implements. My experience on the 360: -Mike would sometimes just start walking forward without touching the movement stick. Same as seen in the The Escapist video review. -While not technically a glitch, the texture loading is THE worst I've seen in an Unreal 3 engine game. Every time in the menu things would take 2-3 seconds to load textures and things would go blurry when exiting any menu. When loading a new area sometimes faces took up to 30 seconds to get their textures loaded. Its a shame they couldn't get the texture loading as good as Mass Effect 2. -During one mission the XBox froze up. So far it has only been this one time so it may have been just a random freeze. -Got stuck on a wall. This was rather irritating as there was no debris around. I just walked too close to a wall and suddenly couldn't get away. I eventually freed myself after crouching, spinning and moving wildly. -Some general AI stupididty like engaging you in battle and then just suddenly deciding to leave and go climb a ladder nearby without taking any damage. -During the training mission, the part where you are supposed open a door with an EMP didn't work. It took about 20 tries before the EMP did what it was supposed to. Certainly not my worst experience with a game as far as bugs go.

How has this game done financially?

I'm extremely curious about what the devs expected as far as review scores & sales. -

I played on normal and early on the minigames were easy, but I started getting alarm hacks that had 10 nodes to finish in 20 seconds which was nearly impossible for me. Putting to points into sabotage made the minigames SO much easier. I'd recommend ANY class of character spend those 6 AP on getting 2 points of Sabotage.

It looks fantastic to me! As long as they can keep the open world with numerous choices about how to tackle the situation...

I was pretty interested in Alan Wake, but it had the misfortune of being released on the same day as Red Dead and within half a month of Alpha Protocol and I usually don't like buying 2 games so close together, let alone 3 and Alan Wake was the short straw of the group. I've added it to a growing list of 'will play someday' along with Borderlands, Batman AA & a few other titles.

This thread reminds of Baldur's Gate when you are in the church district and a woman accuses you of fathering her child and demands child support even though your character would have been far too young to impregnate a woman (if you are playing as human that is).

I have to admit, I was really worried when I read the reviews and was considering cancelling my preorder/shifting the money to another game... but I decided to go for it and pick the game up today. I'm glad I did! While I don't want to call great game just yet, as I'm in Moscow (haven't visited Rome or Teipei yet) and I'm not sure how far into the game I'm in, I'm loving how the game reacts to choices and how events play out based on my choices. The combat isn't nearly as awful as described by reviewers and while I've seen the AI do some dumb things (I don't get the tactical decision to break from combat and go try and climb a ladder) it hasn't been anything game breaking. I've found AP's combat much more exciting than either Deus Ex or Vampire: Bloodlines yet both games seemed to get a pass as far as combat goes. I really think Mass Effect 2 set a new standard for reviewers as far as combat in a RPG and anything less 'just doesn't cut it these days'. They seem to forget about good story telling and meaningful choices which AP seems to have. I do admit I'm not crazy about where the story seems to be heading but the missions have been fun and there is enough intrigue going on that its easy to overlook so far.

I wonder if they changed the ending when they learned the show would be cancelled. They show a calendar or something at some point that shows the date as 2015 and the daughter in her teenage years. Then again, 24 has jumped a number all over the place as far as time lapsed between seasons. One season 6 months have passed since the last, then 2 years here, 5 there etc.

Don't expect any news of one anytime soon. Don't get me wrong... if I was a betting man I'd put good money down that Red Dead will be ported to PC. Rockstar spent a lot of love and care on this game and they likely want to get it to as many platforms as possible, but just like GTA IV its going to take, at the very least, 6 months before they port it. The announcement usually doesn't seem to come until a month or two before the port's release. -

I wouldn't be surprised. Hamas has been using civilians they put in harms way so they can then cry to the rest of the world when Israel strikes back. -
I find myself a bit torn. On the one hand the mediocre to horrible reviews make me want to cancel my preorder, but the recent AvP got nearly identical reviews from various sources and I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. I still love the multiplayer. Many things the reviewers pointed out, like the awkward controls were spot on, but a lot of it was the reviewers not understanding the setting. Likewise, when I see some of the complaints about AP it looks like reviewers don't get REAL rpgs while some of the complaints, like the AI which they support with video (enemies deciding to disengage from combat and go climb a ladder for some reason) seem spot on. I also don't give a crap about the graphics if the game delivers as an RPG.

Gametrailers review. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-h...protocol/100743 They're not too happy about it. 6.4. Some of the complaints may ring true, like when they show the ai trying to walk through a wall... other times they complain about the stat system effecting weapons and complain about not being able to pull off a pistol shot. To me, that makes sense... you keep pumping your stats up and by the end of the game you are pwning with that pistol that you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with at the start. I was really hoping AP would be received as well as ME 1 or 2 but it doesn't seem like it will be the case. I think AP will be a bit like the recent AvP. It didn't receive very good critical reception but fans of the style/setting will end up enjoying it.

You do get to fire a Maxim at one point (which is awesome btw), but I don't know what the ammo belt would have looked like. The end is awesome as is but the song that kicks up at the credits seals it for me as one of the best endings in a game ever. "Your hands upon a dead man's gun and you're looking down the sights... your heart is worn... and the seems are torn... and they've given you reason to fight... and you're not going to take what they've got to give... and you're not going to let them take your will to live cause they've taken enough and you've given them all you can give and luck wont save them tonight." -

Since the game takes place in 1911, it may not have been as widespread at the time as the Colt 1908... which pretty much looks and fires like a 1911 anyway. I just beat the game... fantastic experience from start to finish. The ending was... incredible! I still have tons of side stuff to do like treasure hunting (which I'm finally getting the hang of) and hunting down some of the different outfits. -

Simply press down on the right stick to sell all of an item or press up to increase the sell amount by one. I just sold 20 crow feathers at once... it only required one movement of the right stick followed by a button press. Its not tedious at all. I'd make fun of you... but it took me a while to figure it out myself. -

Cougar man. http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/the...aylist=featured After nearly 30 hours of play I haven't seen any of these animal people but the glitch looks hilarious... especially the donkey woman vid which had me splitting my sides. Glitches I've experienced involved a wagon bouncing up and down like it had some funky ghetto beats in the carriage and some odd stuff when latching on to a wall for cover. Sort of shot up 50 feet in the air and fell back down once. -

I certainly understand most of the points, but I find it odd that he mentions GTA IV on the shallow stories point when GTA IV is better than most crime dramas I've seen in years on television or in movies.
