I see. Wasn't sure how it worked... either way he's available now for the 360.

The Zaeed character is available for download now. I think he's free only today.

***MORE SPOILERS*** Wait, if you play better he doesn't end up all shot up? Cool! I thought it was just the way the story went. As for the paragon/renegade 'quicktime events', I'm lovin' em so far. Personal favorite so far was stabbing a Blue Sun merc in the back with his electro-tool. "You look tired... you should take a break" ZZZZT!

I personally find ME2's combat much more exciting and visceral. Things have been streamlined, but I honestly don't find myself missing anything from ME1 except the Mako. Yeah, it was overkill in ME1 but I still would have liked a bit of it in ME2. Even streamlined, ME2 is still far beyond Jade Empire's RPG system. That and the combat is actually entertaining in ME2. If nothing else it feels like Gears of War with lots of talking.

Looks like Taris from KotOR.

Had nightmare getting the activation code to work. Once I actually started to play the game I finally started to enjoy myself. Haven't got far, just got command of the Normandy. I'm loving the new changes to the game.

I know you are joking, but you know, they might actually go something along that route...

Australian IGN also likes ME2. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/106/1063149p1.html

You got to hand it to Bioware about creating whiny characters. I don't think I've ever hated a character for being whiny so much as Aerie. 'I had these wonderful wings and now I have to move about like you pitiful ground walkers... I'm going to go throw myself off a bridge!'

IGN Video Review: http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/1423501...vdr_012210.html Lets just say that I don't regret putting this on pre-order. I have a feeling it may be better than the first in every possible way.

I think in certain cases they do. Certain games, if missed, can be put to shame by newer games. I frequently see this when I hear about some ground breaking game, miss it at release then play it years later and I just can't see what is so special about it. Usually because I've played some clone that came later and improved upon the formula and the aged innovator now looks dull to me. I don't think Dark Messiah aged that badly though. I just played it for the first time a week or two ago myself and I enjoyed it. It could have used a bit more variety in enemy types but the combat was fun.

Ok... I've got to know the story on this... is this an old episode of Star Trek or something where the alien babes wear funny things and the prop guy told them to put high heel shoes on their heads...

Loved Deus Ex, but I agree with this. If you took the combat and plopped it in any other action fps game of the time it would be a horrible shooter. Mass Effect is similar. If you took the combat from ME and dropped it in Gears of War or most other 3rd person action games it wouldn't be very good. Because Mass Effect/Deus Ex have so much going for them besides the combat you can easily overlook the combat flaws.

-Modern Warfare 2 or World at War if you prefer WWII (like I do). -AvP is coming out soon and looks awesome. -GTA IV is intense with the shootouts and has so much packed into one game. -Left 4 Dead 1 and/or 2. Ridiculously addictive. Every group you play with is different.

Playing through ME on hardcore with an Adept. Game was tough at early levels, but once I've beefed up the biotic skills I'm pwning any foolish alien who gets in my way.

The Great Alpha Protocol venting thread
GreasyDogMeat replied to mkreku's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Well, at least there are a ton of awesome (hopefully) games coming out between now and Alpha Protocol to tide me over. ME2, AvP, Red Dead Redemption... -
I started drooling when I saw the id pack. Then I remembered I had them all... as any true gamer should!

I dunno about everybody else, but that looks like the best year for CRPGs since, well, ever. Too true. It seems like there are only 3 companies making western RPGs and it we are pretty lucky to be getting multiple games from two of them this year. Unless we get more delays this year... I do wish there was some new D&D game on the horizon NwN style...

Games I'm looking forward to coming in 2010 (or atleast I hope they make it in 2010) -Alpha Protocol -Fallout: New Vegas: I HOPE it makes it this year... but I'm not holding my breath -Mass Effect 2 -Alien vs Predator: A new trailer out featuring the brutal kills out. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/uk-kill-aliens-vs/60913 -Red Dead Redemption: My most anticipated -Max Payne 3 -Resident Evil 5 DLC -Brink There are some others I'm interested in, especially some I missed from '09 like Arkham Asylum, but the above listed have me the most excited.

Not really funny, more awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlS_Rnb5WM4...feature=popular A techno type song made entirely from effects/music/voice from Terminator 2. The creator CLAIMS that every noise you hear came from the movie. Someone had a lot of time on their hands!

Pron Star says games are "worse" than porn...
GreasyDogMeat replied to Deadly_Nightshade's topic in Computer and Console
Would not be surprised in the least. GTA IV/Lost and the Damned/Ballad of Gay Tony come the closest with a full frontal and some intense shagging for a game. Even they don't really come close to R rated movies. -
Wasn't... towards those who think that anyone who enjoyed F3 has some mental defect and can only repeat that one line from three-dog ad nauseam as if it is some sort of proof that every line of the hundreds/thousands spoken is retarded gibberish.
