I don't think driving a car over to McDonalds, letting it idle in the parking lot, ordering the McFatty and cutting the cheese is going to bring about that kind of global warming in the near future. Where ice ages have actually happened and killed off numerous species on Earth before.

I'd like to see you pull this 'non-violent strategy' on a swarm of ZERGLINGS!

Medal of Honor pulls a Modern Warfare

Constantly harassing/cursing at the player so he eventually mows them down with no feelings of remorse? -
Between global warming and global cooling I'll take warming any day of the week. Cooling would be far more fatal to life on this planet.

Virgin Galactic to unveil commercial spaceship
GreasyDogMeat replied to Guard Dog's topic in Way Off-Topic
From what I've heard astronauts say, on tv of course , seeing pictures and video of Earth from space is a far cry from actually being up there. Way too expensive now unless you are Bill Gates, but some day... -
I found Dead Space FAR scarier than Call of Cthulu. The sound is fantastic and its one of the few horror games where I actually had to run away desperately searching for ammo (on the harder difficulty).

I loved the low whispering in the game. I could have sworn I heard something, so I cranked the volume up and heard "A desire for social interaction, physical contact, affection or support may lead you to make poor judgments or decisions in multiple areas". I found that phrase pretty funny/creepy considering Isaac's main goal.

Doh, I completely forgot about Fringe & Flash Forward tonight. Oh well, Hulu here I come.

In a move that's not a total copy of Infinity Ward, the next MoH game will be set in Afghanistan in modern times. A bit of competition can't hurt gamers I guess. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/medal-of-spike-tv/59597 Looking on the bright side, it sounds like this new MoH will be inspired more by actual events and not ridiculous Tom Clancy style thriller fiction. Don't get me wrong, I love 24, but I became interested in CoD/MoH games in the first place because they were based on, you know, ACTUAL events. Even if they are cinematic'd up a bit. Modern Warfare 2 gets especially ridiculous. Another positive, IMHO, is a focus on Middle East combat, which Modern Warfare has been extremely skimpy on. Remember playing MW1's demo, being excited for the Middle East campaign only to find that it is pathetically short. On the negative, there hasn't really been an outstanding MoH game since Allied Assault, which was actually developed by Infinity Ward before they broke off and formed IW.

This might be handy for anyone working on a NwN module. Just transfer the numbers.

Have some serious ignorance problems in South Africa. Its still widely a widely held belief that raping a young virgin will cure aids... hence the ridiculous numbers. Nasty stuff. http://www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/06/04/cnnhe...koni/index.html

Wow, I take it that the Dark Matter theory and the Big Bounce theory can't exist together? I've heard that under the Dark Matter theory the universe would continue expanding until all matter was pulled apart and the universe ended under a big freeze as planets and matter becomes farther and farther apart. Under the Bounce I'm taking it we're back to the Universe collapsing and then bouncing back? While we'll be dead either way (assuming we survive each other, find space flight and new worlds and manage not to have some world ending catastrophe in the process) I like the idea of the Big Bounce as it sounds like life might stand a chance of developing a gajillion years in the future. Come on Universe, bounce with me! Can I get a woop-woop?

Dammit! I'm looking forward to Brink.

There is a means of changing society by convincing it that it should feel guilty and ashamed for everything and that all of it's holidays and people of note were horrible things. The society then becomes a big blubbering pile of guilt and self hatred. When I hear the whining though, I just whip out my mini violin and go eat an extra serving of stuffing. Stuffing is the best part of Thanksgiving... and cranberries.

Diablo III or The elder scrolls 5
GreasyDogMeat replied to urielrose's topic in Computer and Console
I love Diablo's setting, but the gameplay just gets so repetitive. I hate the Elder Scrolls setting, but the gameplay is pretty good... with mods... lots and lots of mods. Then again I really enjoyed Fallout 3, even without mods so maybe Beth will get ES V right. -
Only in America What a truly ****ed up country I live in. Take a trip to Europe and go to a 'football' game.

Wow... just... wow.

Watched the first ep and enjoyed. I'm starting to watch way too many TV shows now.

Is the (new) series V worth watching on Hulu? Never saw the old series but I'm kind of curious about the new one.

Can't say this news makes me a sad panda.

Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2 & Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena from Black Friday deals. I think the GoW 2 SP is a huge improvement over the first, and I'm loving horde mode. Left 4 Dead also fun in coop. I've been wary about Left 4 Dead, but after a demo was finally released for 2 I tried and enjoyed it and decided to get the first. Riddick is less fun than I remember it from 2005. The stealth aspect is way too touchy. Quickly peak around a corner and get spotted, or I'll be walking on a high point in crouch mode and even though the guard's eye line down below is looking lower than me, he'll still end up spotting me if I'm in the sight cone, but higher than it. I'm currently looking for Jager Valance in the mines, spending a lot of time going back and forth looking for secrets. Found this crazy guy with a happy face painted on his goggles that gave me a key code to his secret stash.

What is your opinion on the Israeli-Palestenian conflict
GreasyDogMeat replied to urielrose's topic in Way Off-Topic
Most of your comments only reinforce my opinions that Palestinians are lunatic jerks who would blow you up as soon as look at you and get away with it because they're of darker skin color and therefore must be in the right in the world's eyes. -
Wait a second... my Christian relatives have given me front hugs... Those SINNERS! I feel dirty and violated now.

I kept hoping the next one would be better. One or two were kind of funny. At least they were only 30 seconds to a minute long.
