Just watched the 19 webisodes and I have to say, what a load of useless crap. "Here is where I sleep", "Here's the infirmary".

You know, I'm amazed they don't have some sort of regulations about the people inhabiting their bodies not, well, going around having sex, eating crap they wouldn't normally and engaging in physical fights etc.

True, but at least there were things gettin' shot, sliced and blowed up good. I suppose Twilight must have something for it's target audience though, as it seems to be doing well.

Finally! Clear visual proof that aliens have been living among us.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

You have got to be joking. If you want a game that DOESN'T portray the US army as the be all end all good guys its Modern Warfare. The sequel, especially, is like a liberal America-hating fantasy. Stupid story aside, the game is as they say, a roller-coaster ride. -
I can't stop playing this stupid flash game

The Olympics would actually be worth watching if they all ran like that. -
I like how there was a Lost & Damned/Gay Tony Advert before that vid.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

At the end of the day, players either liked full health regen, didn't care or were not bothered enough to quit the franchise (me), because if anything CoD sales have improved with each game. I keep hoping a MoH game will come out that will challenge CoD's dominance, for no other reason than some good old competition but EA seems to think sniper levels and ridiculous levels full of panzershreck troopers = fun. Picked up Airborne recently and while the first 3 levels are quite good, the game rapidly goes downhill. Better health system than CoD, but where it really counts the game fails (gameplay). -

I'm talking about CoD, not MoH. MoH was a lone man game. The most help you got was 3 AI soldiers (not counting the HEAVILY scripted D-Day landing). Obviously the focus was on the player. That is why CoD 1 was so fresh. It really dropped you onto a battlefield that MoH only gave a scripted taste of. The health system was not something I obsessed over. I didn't like it of course, but I immediately noticed that in 2 you are suddenly a much bigger target to the enemy. CoD 1 had this problem in spots, like Pavlov's House where the Germans just bee-lined up the building to you, but CoD 2 felt like the entire game had become Pavlov's House. -

At least with the med kit system there is a consequence to being shot. The introduction of the regen health system was more than just a health system change. It changed how enemies behaved. Instead of the realistic battle fields where enemies would shoot at your AI team mates and actually miss you from time to time, their focus turned to you and their accuracy increased because the enemy AI was now required to pump more lead into you. Suddenly, instead of feeling like I was part of a large scale battle, I felt like I was some sort of super construct on the battlefield and the enemy soldiers knew it. Fine in futuristic Halo where you ARE a super soldier, not so much in a military shooter. Again, I prefer the middle ground where the game does give you regen, but your health is split into beads where if one bead is completely drained you need medical attention where minor damage to that health bead will regen after a time. Best of both worlds. -

I like to think of the movie Saving Private Ryan where a soldier is on the beach with his guts hanging out of his stomach yelling, 'Momma, MOMMA!', then I imagine another soldier rushing up and saying 'just shut up and hide behind this cover here'. Then a slurping sound as his guts pull themselves back into his stomach and the wound seals up. The soldier then rushes out, gets hit again and has his guts hanging out again, so, he just goes and hides behind that wall again. Also, all the examples I gave all feature health regeneration, except they have health split into sections so you never get too far down that a battle is impossible. I don't mind certain amounts of simplification/dumbing down/mainstreaming but CoD series went too far IMHO. Might as well just remove ammo and grenade counters while they are at it. I mean really, whats next in CoD? Nukes in MP that destroy the enemy team and end the match? Oh, wait... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7otvIzUvLko -
Drag Me to Hell. Love Sam Raimi horror comedy fights. Thing that pissed me off about the movie is about 20-30 minutes before the end they have one of those non-events that only appear in a movie as foreshadowing and it completely spoiled the ending. Otherwise I enjoyed it.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

My boss was playing it on his PS3 today and invited me into the office for a bit to play some coop. I kept accidentally throwing grenades as the bumper/trigger buttons are opposite of the 360 controller. The CoD/MW games are some of the most polished and intense shooters on the market so I'm not really surprised about the hype level. I just wish IW hadn't abandoned the health kit healing system. I really don't like the healing system introduced in CoD 2 and used up to this point. Would prefer a Far Cry 2, MoH Airborne or Chronicles of Riddick healing system. -

I just ate a grape and I ****ed in my pants! -
What they really need is more shooting. Has anyone even fired a gun in the show yet? Blow something up already!

It's really sad that Eidos canceled Carmageddon 3 some time ago There was a Carmageddon 3, though it was basically Carmageddon 2.5. http://www.mobygames.com/game/carmageddon-3-tdr-2000 Fond memories of both 1 and 2. The music and graphics blew my mind at the time.

Someone has issues. You should only piss on people in Postal 2 to put a fire out... or to make them puke so you can decapitate them and have vomit spew out of their neck instead of blood... Why is everyone looking at me funny? -

Agreed. Played a game called Soldier of Fortune II that allows you to disembowel enemies. First time I saw it in game it was pretty shocking for a game. After it happened a few times I was happily disemboweling terrorists and bad guys. Sometime later I watched a show on the History Channel about a WWII battle where a soldier recounted having a friend of his disemboweled by an enemy soldier. Without ever seeing any violence, just listening to the story I was again shocked. So yes, I do believe there is a disconnect between video game violence and real violence. I don't know about those with 'damaged' minds though... -
I also loved Alice, though I admit I'm very surprised to see so many excited about a sequel considering how bad McGee's latest games have been. I'm crossing my fingers though...

Its hardly a meta-game moment to realize that the other Russians will kill the Germans. Russians had been executing begging surrendered Germans left and right all through the level up to that point and one of the characters yells out that the men will not be denied their revenge. Exaggerated, of course. Not by much I imagine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_war_crimes -"In Poland, Nazi atrocities ended by late 1944, but they were replaced by Soviet oppression with the advance of Soviet forces. Soviet soldiers often engaged in plunder, rape, and other crimes against the Poles, causing the population to fear and hate the Soviet regime." -"The Red Army's violence against the local German population during the occupation of eastern Germany often led to incidents like that in Demmin, a small city conquered by the Soviets in the spring of 1945. Despite its surrender, nearly 900 civilians committed suicide, fueled by instances of pillaging, rape, and executions." -"During the occupation of Budapest, (Hungary), it is estimated that 50,000 women and girls were raped. Hungarian girls in general were taken to the Red Army quarters, where they were incarcerated, raped, and sometimes murdered. These atrocities were committed even against embassy staff from neutral countries, as when Soviet soldiers attacked the Swedish legation in Germany." -"Although the Red Army crossed only a very small part of Yugoslavia in 1944, its activities there caused great concern for the Yugoslav communist partisans, who feared that the rapes and plundering by their Soviet allies would weaken their standing with the population. At least 121 cases of rape were documented later, 111 of which also involved murder. A total of 1,204 cases of looting with assault were documented. Stalin responded to a Yugoslav partisan leader's complaints about the Red Army's conduct by saying, "Can't he understand it if a soldier who has crossed thousands of kilometers through blood and fire and death has fun with a woman or takes some trifle?"" No fan of Nazi Germany... but I don't really consider Stalin's Russia all that far from the Nazis.

Shooting them is actually the lesser of two evils as the other Russian soldiers will burn them alive with molotov ****tails if you don't open fire. I liked the brutal depiction of the Russians invading Berlin. The only thing missing from the game was the mass rape of German girls and women for the glorious finale.
