  1. My mother recently won a gift basket. She gave me the bottle of craft beer that was in it, because she doesn't drink beer at all. It was a 8.2 vol% Imperial IPA. I don't like IPAs (slight understatement), and I generally dislike stronger beers, but I gave it a shot anyway. It took one sip to realize that calling it bottled sewage would be an insult to sewage, and I ended up pouring it out. The label said the "beer" actually won the best in show award for Imperial IPAs at the Craft Beer Rising London 2016. I don't even want to know how the bad ones are.

  2. russia? bad hong kong? bad. united states? ... according to stephen miller, the above linked protest necessitates the involvement o' military troops? they lie. the terrible part is that maga knows trump and his minions lie. there was never $2 trillion in waste, fraud and abuse... wasn't even hundreds of billions. how many fired fed workers, maga faithful, learned they were perpetrating waste, fraud and abuse? there is no white genocide happening in south africa. tariffs won't make americans rich. that hurricane were never predicted to reach alabama. rubio and musk said nobody has died 'cause o' usaid cuts. lies. etc. maga knows they lie, but 'cause is a polarized tribal thing where you gotta defend us from them, maga types willingly and beyond all reason, believe and promote the next lie. as a rando example, a person who perhaps knows trump is lying about tariffs and white genocide in south africa, nevertheless contorts themselves into knots trying to convince the rest o' us that trump and stephen miller is telling the truth about los angeles. and again, “Indeed we can think of no better example of the police power, which the Founders denied the national government and reposed in the states, than the suppression of violent crime and vindication of its victims.”-- J. Rehnquist, us v morrison (2000) in 2020, numerous states asked for help from the national guard. converse, the federal government cannot send troops to california, oregon, washington or illinois to do ordinary law enforcement. however, those states is gonna need go through the courts to get relief, which is gonna take time... and perhaps when the Court final addresses the issue, some catastrophe sparked by the presence o' national guard troops will have already occurred, at which point trump will invoke the insurrection act. regardless, even if there were chaos happening in los angeles, real widespread l007ing and property destruction, the fed couldn't send troops unless the states asked for aid. it's a law thing. it's the freaking Constitution. repeat: "ordinarily it is up to the states to decide whether to request fed troop assistance. is extreme few recent examples o' the fed not responding to state requests and sending in troops and the only post ww 2 examples we can think o' off hand is when Presidents sent troops to the south to protect school kids post brown v. board o' education, or when they ordered military to protect protesters from state governments related to mlk assassination, the aforementioned brown v. board and the civil rights act legislation." another repeat for those curious refusing to pay attention... what trump is doing is unconstitutional, but illegal, immoral or unthinkable don't prevent him from doing it. why is this not penetrating? HA! Good Fun!

  3. I dunno, that trailer looks weird. Near the end I expected this to be a generic 4 players COOP or looter / extraction shooter and was surprised when people called it an RPG.

  4. Dunno about that; the potential effects are rather more than for Elon v Zuck posturing and for shareholders in Musk's companies. Elon might well be able to swing a few R votes against Trump's Big Beautiful Bill for example, and it probably only needs a few votes swung against it. It's hard to separate the narcissism from the actualities for things like Musk's effect/ influence on Trump's reelection but he certainly contributed a lot monetarily at least and there will always be those currying favour for reelection funding and influence.

  5. You could always go the subtitle route. Instead of "BG4", do "BG: Lower your expectations".

  7. Interesting that there seems other stuff in the works apart from standard triple-A action adventure™ fare -- the direction to go to for decades, becuz: "If you press a button, something awesome has to happen!" A survival kind of thing set in The Realms? Sure, survival has been done to death... but in a way, the start of BG1 arguably was pretty close already, still making it kind of unique, at least upon first playing it. Think about it: You're dropped into forests with no gear, money or hitpoints to brag in front of the girls about. Your foster father has just been killed. There's wolves and bears able to one-shot you. True to the game's lore of iron and crisis, the joke of a weapon you hold in your hands can actually BREAK at ANY POINT. And you're on your own (that is, provided you gave that annoying lass the hard pass, as the game strongly encouraged you to do...) Will this signal the comeback of 1990s era D&D games? I mean you had Beat em Level Ups ! Horror Crawlers! And Command Faerun & Conquers!

  8. Stranger Than Heaven? When a dev team releases more games than I can play. Seriously, I was starting to wrap my head around the new pirate game and suddenly this drops!

  9. So, Lies of P: Overture is not on Game Pass, unlike the base game. That's not a big issue (for me, plenty of people seem to be disappointed online though - I kinda understand that, but since Lies of P became a surprise hit it is simple business sense to sell the DLC to everyone who wants to play) since the base game is well worth buying anyway, but somehow Microsoft can't into math: I'm beginning to understand some of the bugs in Windows.
