  2. The Blackwell series was really good, I think some of the studio's best games for plot. It's a series about this medium and her ghost companion who go around helping the recently deceased move on by talking them down or solving their unresolved issues. The series has so much going on for it, it has a lot of humour, tragedy, mystery and really top quality banter between the main characters Joey and Rosa. Gemini Rue is a great one-shot cyberpunk/detective noir story, you're a detective looking for his missing brother in this Bladerunner-like universe. And Resonance is probably the one the feels the most like Unavowed with multiple playable characters and intertwined stories. The game starts off with a lab accident that quickly spirals into a big mystery over this new scientific breakthrough that could change the world.

  3. The variance in those attribute spreads will make almost no difference in combat. If I had to pick one it would be the rightmost because INT influences the AoE size of White Flames. RES 16 is enough for most dialogue (and you can add an intem with bonus RES, too). Estoc and Pollaxe is generally a good pick for Paladins, especially if you also take Coordinated Attacks and later get the Blade of the Endless Paths (unique Estoc) and Spectacular Spetum (Pollaxe). Both have Marking which stacks with Coordinated Attacks. So you can give stackable +20 accuracy to a party member who attacks the sme target as you which can be really helpful. In case of Kind Wayfarer however dual wielding is a good alternative because every strike of Flames of Devotion + White Flames (it's a Full Attack, so both weapons will strike) will trigger a healing. That's two healing procs instead of one. It's not that important though - Flames of Devotion has only 2 uses per encounter.

  4. Oh look, I found a video that agrees with me, hence I liked it. He goes into possible industry reasons/decisions for the trend but for me as a watcher: ---2-3 years per 6-10 eps season = me unable to remember the 1st season and practically having to rewatch that first, making me not want to watch to begin with ---once the pattern is known, it's a self-fulling prophecy: ppl going "I'll wait for more seasons before watching/investing time" can = cancelled show because 1st season isn't watched enough in the first month or two ---Netflix is definitely the biggest offender but it's a streaming-series trend overall

  6. Grand Strategic is an old tabletop wargaming term. It's definitely the correct technical term for something at the scale of Paradox's historical games, though personally I wouldn't apply it to classic 4x like Civilisation for example as that is one layer too much abstraction.

  7. looks good. I finally installed KC:D1, and am looking forward to trying it out within the last couple months. I will probably wait till I am done with Avowed though.

  8. I wanted to center it on Neketaka so of course it's cut on the sides because of this. Although, if I used my brain I should have just extended the water to the left and bottom since they're all islands. I'll get to this later and update the post.

  9. Cool development. I bet nobody will exploit this for their own gain.

  10. Its you, Boreoer! The one they talk about! The legend! I am humbled! I was leaning towards the far left to be able to manage all the resolve interactions, but if you say item buffs and 16 should do it then the rightmost is more balanced. I understood that dual weilding generally is better for wayfarers, but i went with the order from an RP-perspective mostly. Was planning on importing this character to PoE II as a Paladin/Fighter multiclass ie crusader, going devoted/kind wayfarer and going greatswords with the Bloody links (or whispers of the endless paths and nomads brigandine but from what i understand that one is pretty late game) does that sound viable? Stat suggestions? Thank you kindly for the reply!

  11. Germany's GameStar is gonna publish an extra issue just for KCD II. Not even Swen Vincke managed to get one for BG3. DA HYPE IS ON. Wait, there's more. Not only will it contain the usual quest guides, a walkthrough, hints for making money quickly (HELL YES), maps and a poster. It's gonna ship with a Papercraft Kit for your very own Trosky Castle! The only caveat (marked RED): It's not gonna be one for living and taking shelter in.

  12. *calculates* if I walk (fast) around the pool+connected paved patio in a large squarish oval for 8-10 minutes, 5-6 times a day, I get 2+ miles worth of "steps". So instead of dressing/going out for a single long walk, I can just do that between pc/desk/tv/meals etc. Plus the morning elliptical session/different motion. I can do it at 2am, in my slippers or nightgown or half naked. Why didn't I think of this before, never had a yard with such an unfettered (and non-muddy) path even for circular walking, I guess. It's working out quite nicely and is more motivating when I don't have to go anywhere. The neighbors might think I'm a little weird, if they look out their windows, but so what.

  15. Finished Unavowed. It's pretty good, classic point-n-click adventure, but with some choices and branching in the story. And the story was nice. EDIT: Went and bought a bunch of the studios other games.

  16. People who should know say that they're speaking Korean with a genuine NK accent and I haven't seen a single nay sayer about that. There are ways to 'fake' it- like ship in a couple of defectors who have been in ROK a while- but there isn't any evidence of that. It's enough to shift the burden of evidence. 2 POWs out of 3000 supposed casualties is certainly an 'interesting' ratio though. If you had that ratio at, say, Mariupol it means the Ukrainians would have suffered more than 5 million casualties. Ukraine admits to 8000 captured, at the same ratio that would mean 12 million casualties for them over the course of the war. If you used the same ratio Ukraine claims for its troops for NK though NK casualties would be about 120 which seems far more plausible. See, now this is a perfectly crafted Bruce post. Claim a poster said something they didn't, put in an obvious falsehood (deployed to Ukraine, since, unless you're Liz Truss, Kursk is part of Russia) to provoke a reply and frame it all as questions.

  17. aaah, you might have to run this command first: iRoll20s Note that this will disable achievements for the rest of that playthrough unless you load an earlier save.

  18. So Jagged Allience3 is being offered in this months Humble Choice. I remember some people here played it extensively. How good is it? Worth picking up by a non-JA fan? (I bought and launched JA2 a while ago on steam, but never spent a meaningful amount of time with it).

  19. Well I've been kept fairly busy the last few months. Pretty much constantly required in the actual office, which is added fun to dealing with the house and my father's things. The majority of watch and clock stuff is now off to the auction house. Spent a chunk of one day over the christmas break taking up carpets from a few rooms in the house. But that whole combination of elements has been why I haven't really been lurking around the forums or doing my usual constant updates of the funnythings thread. Today has been about the.. 4th? work from home day I've had since September, and I had to spend about an hour and a half on the phone with the tax people because they sent me a note that my father owed taxes for last year. The tax folk were really nice and helpful, and it looks like its a paperwork screw-up from the pension companies filing wrong stuff. But it means I do need to schedule in more phone time chasing up other people. Huzzah. Hope you folks are all finding the journey into the New Year welcoming and non-disturbing.

  21. Perhaps I'm being too pessimistic, but I'm wondering whether it is too soon to apply the label 'wretched hive of scum and villainy' to this Presidential cabinet yet? Man, some of these picks are rather questionable. I suppose if they are bad enough they will take some attention away from DJT's own misdeeds?
