  1. Shadow of he Erdtree. It's completely glorious, best game they have ever made, and it's a DLC.

  2. I was at London Pride 2024 on Saturday with my university. It was curious to see several groups of the safely contained homophobes, but they do remind why the Pride is needed. I have also realised that I strongly dislike whistles and large groups of people in general. Still, going to get some sort of hearing protection and come to London Pride 2025. Hopefully, the transphobes in the government will be removed by that time.

  3. Oh yeah, that always made it super easy - that, and if your site had it, filling out fields like ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, AIM Messenger, et cetera. Nobody in the universe ever filed those out.

  4. Remember the era when they would fill out all the fields in their profile and you'd recognise a spam bot by the fact they had three hobbies listed?

  5. HELLO, THIS IS THE BARTIMAEUS BOT ALERT! Evidence: #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5. All only tangentially related posts made on various random forums by a newly registered user within the last day by the same username. This one had a decently believable post, I almost didn't look them up...but the fact that it didn't seem to be addressing anyone in particular despite starting with "I agree with you" combined with the random words smashed together username (which in my own experiences of forum moderation, is almost always a dead giveaway that the user is a bot) made me make sure, and yep. Once the idiots running these AI-generated spambots figure out how to use different usernames across different websites (i.e. doing the bare minimum to disguise themselves) and maybe some mild textual improvements to avoid easily patterned behaviors, we might really be in trouble, because I honestly thought that this could be a real post for a moment.

  6. Replaying Blade Runner. Killed everyone - Lucy, Dektora (after convincing her I was on her side, great "Why ??" when I dropped her), Sadik, Zuben, Clovis, Crystal.

  8. Without the supreme court defining it or absent any strict definition, they will argue that everything he does is an official act...except for the stuff they don't want made public record, those things will be private and personal when it suits him.

  9. I was just expressing that I'm not supposed to spend my own in-game money for such an oversight of text design. If the devs could add a patch which introduces a "free retraining NPC" into the game, that would be helpful. Anyway, thanks for your advice.

  10. Sorry, late response - I've been away for a work thing for over a week. I think nobody here is including those infos because you can look most of them up in the official wiki: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Official_Pillars_of_Eternity_Wiki So repeating that info (like where to get which item etc.) in every build is not needed. Thus this thread (that doesn't say "guide" by the way but "build list") simply lists fun and powerful build combos and ideas - and opinionated debates, yes. It's a forum after all, not a wiki. That's what we as forum users seem to like and settle on when it comes to character builds. They are not guides that hold your hand from start to finish and tell you every detail about what you should do. They are more like elaborated (and tested) build ideas that work well and can give you inspirations, not firm instructions. You can follow them bit by bit or alter them to your taste - since the game is so balanced it won't hurt the experience much. And maybe that's also why most players don't go into every detail but only outline the impactful stuff mostly when it's about building a character. Yet most builds I read here do note every race, background, skill, talent, ability and item even if it's not crucial. Complete game guides can be found here I think: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/687020-pillars-of-eternity/faqs I haven't used them - but since some other gamefaq-stuff I read is very decent I suppose those are good as well. If you still cannot make sense of the game(s) and need help please feel free to ask in these forums and you will get help. I suggest to not use detailed guides etc. because the games are better without spoilers and also they are balanced very well from a mechanical standpoint. You cannot really screw your first playthrough up with a "bad build" - especially if you start on normal or veteran difficulty. Both games are pretty difficult at the beginning and then feel easier after the first levels - so don't feel discouraged or fear that your character build is bad. That's most likely not the case.

  11. Why don't you retrain that companion? It's not expensive and you can make sure to pick the correct abilities and talents anew.

  12. A 6-3 Supreme Court decision has declared that the United States president has absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for any official acts during their terms. I think Biden's first act as Emperor of the United States should probably be to kill the entire Supreme Court and appoint a new one that makes better decisions.

  15. I found it very cathartic to watch his riff on Fallout3 reviews, as I found them ridiculously inaccurate at the time. I haven’t felt as disconnected with reception to the game and my own experience until Baldur’s Gate3. And it’s not that people like it, and I don’t (that happens often enough), but that they keep praising the game for things it is clearly not good bad at. Interestingly, reviewer for Gamespot for who praised F3 for being “deep and involving” and having “interesting choices” was one of the writers for Baldur’s Gate3. Stays on brand at least. BG3 also thinks “do you want to kill a city full of people or not” is an interesting choice.

  16. For a bit of balance, there were a few places where I thought Rowling fell down when it came to planning and related matters, all towards the end of the series. The revelation of horcruxes seemed to be rather... not exactly abrupt, but it kind of needed more fleshing out earlier so that you don't just get a big expositionary sequence from Slughorn. It was clearly planned, but the execution was not great. Similarly and worse while the Deathly Hallows were introduced individually early on their significance mostly seemed to be a way to drive the plot of the book (movie). If someone told me that Rowling had picked them semi randomly because she was having difficulty getting people where she wanted them to be organically I'd have certainly believed that, with the possible exception of the wand (and even then the 'rule' its significance relied on was ?new? to DH? very iirc).

  17. Restored VM Arena Fight.zip I've put together that restores this encounter into a mostly functional state. The fight is a level 18 encounter, but can be launched from the Pool of Memories at anytime during Seeker, Slayer, Survivor; provided that the free Critical Role Pack DLC is installed. A short conversation will play using audio from the Critical Role Pack voice sets. Though there will be no portraits for the character during the conversation. On first completion there is a reward of some currency and a couple of Exceptional quality weapons and armour. It should be compatible with the Standalone Seeker, Slayer, Survivor mod should you wish to jump right into it, or my own Early Seeker mod if you'd prefer. Apart from fixing some minor issues, the only major alteration I've made to the encounter is creating NPC variants of each character's corresponding Player Voice. This was done to remove most of the battle barks such as Low Health, Poisoned, Critical Hits/Misses and like. Otherwise the battle is just a heap of auditory clutter with Vox Machina and PC party shouting barks. I would recommend installing the Percy and Gilmore Voice Fixes, as the audio file issues present in those voice sets will crop up during the fight. Namely Gilmore asking "How can I help you?" while casting some spells and Percy's overlapping barks during his death and damaged cries. As for how the encounter plays? I haven't done a lot of testing on it, but I found it a pretty difficult encounter to beat. Though I am pretty rusty at the game, so I'd be interested what more experienced Deadfire players make of it. I don't have any intentions to make any further alterations to the encounter in the future. But should anyone want to do something with what I've done here they are more than welcome to!

  18. Still here. Still waiting for PoE3. If it is not coming soon, we will have to make it ourselves.

  19. Is it the US presidents job to assassinate drug cartel leaders? I don't think it said that anywhere in his job description? He may wield the power to do so, but if he does so because he doesn't like said cartel leader, it's personal, not part of the job. Same thing goes for the Jan. 6th incidents. Starting an insurrection to seize power and overthrow the election was not part of his job. I'm sure there are some kind of electoral committees to ensure things happens by the book. He simply didn't like he was losing and wanted to seize power. Not part of his job description (ok, I've never actually read the job description and sometimes you get surprised). If he declares war on another country and a bunch of people gets killed, sure. That might be part of the job. Even if was more personal for Bush Jr. to avenge Bush Sr. blunders by fabricating reasons to go for war than any actual legitimate reasons (i.e. no threat to US citizens or security, he simply felt his family had been embarrassed). That one the voters will sort out, eventually. The ruling makes perfect sense in that regard. What is as clear as mud is what constitutes "the presidents official duties"?

  20. Salome's Last Dance (1988) - Oscar Wilde watches a brothel put on one of his plays. Incredible. It's just a brilliant move to make a film that rather than a straight adaptation of a play is just the play being put on in front of an audience. Certainly an interesting way to stretch a budget and reinforce the unreality inherent to the form of the stage play. I found myself getting engrossed in the play only for cuts to Oscar Wilde to be drinking or pursuing a twink to interrupt the play action. Whore (1991) - The anti-Pretty Woman It's visceral and raw, a small-time and personal tragedy that could be any number of people. Personally I find myself preferring the stories of people who aren't major figures but are closer to the people that you'd know, like I'm not interested in a hesit film with an elite crew but would absolute watch a bunch of broke people attempt to rob a chain restaurant. Whore absolutely falls into this category and it is wonderful for it. A bit of serendipity, both films are based on plays.

  21. Unrelatedly, a fire started inside former Green Bay Packers player Randall Cobb's house Tuesday night after his Tesla charger spontaneously ignited while they were sleeping, and the couple of pictures they posted makes it look like a bomb went off in their garage. From what I gather, firefighters were able to put the fire out before it burned down his whole house. Everyone got out of the house without injury, including the dog: may you be so lucky, ShadySands.
