  1. 36 hours in to Deadfire and its still lots of fun My party is level 12 and I use the skull quest rating system to decide if Im ready for a quest and its generally accurate. I decided to do the Bekarna's Folly after robbing from Arkemyr And I ended up having one of the hardest and most exciting battles with the foul and arrogant lich Concelhaut, he slaughtered me the first 2 times but then I changed my strategy. I kept my party at the bottom of the stairs as you enter the roof of the observatory but sent Eder in solo mode to draw aggression and run away back to the rest of my companions That worked and I was able to separate Concelhaut allies and defeat them all in 2 separate battles , it was still really hard but I was victorious I love the strategic nature of these types of hard battles in party based isometric RPG. I enjoy how literally each turn matters and how you assign combat tasks to your party and then you wait to see the results

  3. Bruce, that’s to much to ask from a person, who joined these forums, purely to show everyone, how “west is wrong and will be economically crushed soon ” Especially, when these somehow completely disregard the fact, that China and India is for decades in a state of cold war, which in some cases even includes banning each others companies from doing business in their countries And that India is making Russia economy bleed, as Russia must currently trade gas and oil with them in Rupees, and subsequently requires them to invest these rupees back in India, as Rupees are non-convertible What a case example how business partners should treat each other when trying to outperform and crush their competitors

  4. I like to give people the benefit of doubt and hope they do understand there own argument, what he is talking about is the normal BRICS narrative and anti-Western rhetoric and I have heard it all before on Codex and I have had several debates on this same topic but I still am interested in the questions I asked And there are several common points that always get raised around the BRICS narrative and this gets repeated in SA by BRICS activists and one of them is where people confuse GDP and GDP PPP where BRICS is ahead in GDP PPP but not GDP compared to the G7 https://www.visualcapitalist.com/charted-comparing-the-gdp-of-brics-and-the-g7-countries/ But that debate is a distraction because both GDP measurements for BRICS or the G7 is not because of specific or unique trade deals within BRICS, its normal trade and economic activity that would exist even if BRICS didnt exist So the data is correct but not the reason for the data. Which is why I always ask the same question " what is the real economic benefit for being part of BRICS" , what is the BRICS equivalence to the EU single market or AGOA for Africa? Because then you can say " these are the specific economic benefits to join BRICS " but if there arent any substantive benefits then it will continue to be a talk-shop

  5. Oh I know all about BRICS, I live in a BRICS country What are the specific economic benefits for being part of BRICS? What trade deals does BRICS provide that only BRICS members get access to ? You can trade with any BRICS country and it doesnt matter if you part of BRICS or not part of BRICS because normal WTO trade rules is used For example AGOA (African Growth and Opportunity Act ) is a specific trade deal between certain African countries and the US but it has real trade benefits that help African countries because they get reduced tariffs to sell there exported goods in the US https://ustr.gov/issue-areas/trade-development/preference-programs/african-growth-and-opportunity-act-agoa What are similar economic benefits for joining BRICS, I am not looking for broad generalisations or rhetoric like " The result is a growing multipolar global economy, with lots of bilateral trade and economic blocs outside the influence of the U.S." What does that even mean , any country can trade with any country in the world . The US doesnt control that but whats more relevant to this debate is I am looking for specific trade deals like AGOA that apply to BRICS members. You can find me any unique benefit that applies to BRICS members and I will read them For BRICS to become a meaningful and beneficial economic union it has to have some sort of common institutions like a Central Bank which controls monetary policy for BRICS like the EU and the ECB, BRICS doesnt have a shared currency and it has countries that have very different types of governments so the legality of economic policies cant be enforced within BRICS like how the EU successfully functions around internal EU trade on things like tariffs for EU members But the point is just post some links about what specific economic agreements you get from joining BRICS and these are benefits that if you not a BRICS member you cant get

  6. Huh. I can certainly see why and don't think that he deserves defending, but it seems like a cop out to erase him. Like they'd rather pretend they didn't hang out with him, and some could say enabled him, for years instead of owning up to it. Anyways if you're looking for reciepes Not Another Cooking Show on YouTube has good Italian(-American) stuff that hits pretty well. The authentic Italian guys, besides the pizza dude, are just off-putting to me in various ways that makes them hard to watch even if their recipes are solid. Let out a wet leopard growl and count yourself lucky. David Lynch begs to differ ..... I think Chappelle's head is too far up his own ass to be really funny, he's bought into his own hype as a genius dropping profound wisdom that he just can't really pull off the self-depreciation needed to laugh at himself. So he builds his specials around trying to be this guru who will enlighten you with whatever weird hill a 50+ millionaire wants to die on and that's just boring as ****. The funniest thing he's done in years was bringing Elon Musk onstage to get booed by 10000 people and that was completely unintentional on his part. I enjoyed some stuff from Gianmarco Soresi recently.

  7. Judge wants answers after report that key witness in Trump fraud trial may plead guilty to perjury “As the presiding magistrate, the trier of fact, and the judge of credibility, I of course want to know whether Mr. Weisselberg is now changing his tune, and whether he is admitting he lied under oath in my courtroom at this trial,” Engoron wrote in the email. Engoron’s email went to lawyers for Trump, Weisselberg, the Trump Organization and other defendants, as well as counsel for the New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office, which brought the civil fraud case. seeming unrelated, the weisselberg perjury has repercussions beyond the fraud trial. am on record as not being optimistic 'bout the ny hush money case. novel application o' the law? you not need to be a lawyer to recognize precedent is important when law is at issue. however, novelty is hardly the only problem for alvin bragg as he pursues a criminal conviction o' trump. the feds, who would be a more appropriate prosecutor given the facts and the s'posed crime, chose not to bring a case in part 'cause michael cohen would be an important witness and nobody thinks cohen makes for a good witness. cohen has not become a better witness since the feds did their pontius pilate impersonation and washed their hands. so... the thing is, y'know who would be a good witness against trump for bragg? weisselberg. am not holding our breath that this is the time somebody close to trump flips, but weisselberg functional did 100 days in jail for trump already. is he willing to do years of time for trump? am not knowing what is the typical sentence for perjury in ny, but keep in mind this would be weisselberg's second criminal conviction in a relative small window o' time. is doubtful things go as smooth for allen. HA! Good Fun!

  8. ps we read the judgement from the trump immunity case and the possible timeline for appeals is looking more narrow than we expected. trump has until next monday to file for cert with SCOTUS... at which point the Court could sit on the appeal indefinitely but likely result is Court responds w/i a week. en banc appeal efforts by trump will not prevent issuing o' mandate... no delay o' criminal proceedings. therefore, deadline for trump to file appeal is next monday and we would be legit shocked if SCOTUS did not respond within a week... two at outset. IF SCOTUS takes up a trump appeal, am not seeing how they could delay given the time sensitivity involved, but again, this Court baffles us. HA! Good Fun!

  11. No - and I didn't change any of my browser/cookie settings. It's weird... yesterday the session ended as soon as I closed the browser. Just now I visited the forum again (first time today I believe) and I was logged out again. But when I clicked on "sign in" I suddenly was logged in again and didn't have to do anything. Edit: this is superweird: I now tested it again and closed the browser and opened if back up, went ot the forum site: it says I'm looged in (cool). THen tried to edit this post and the edit option is not there (huh? logged out secretly?). Reload the page and I'm logged out. I'm using 2FAuth - maybe that's causing a problem? No idea... I am also blocking 3rd-party cookies and use Disconnect to block third-party tracking - but there's only 1 content request from Microsoft and a bunch from Google afaict. In the past that didn't cause any problems with the login process. I can try without those and report. Edit 2: deactivated the Disconnect addon and now I keep being logged in. OKay, I can live with that. It's just weird that this worked in the past an now it doesn't. Is the session cookie from a different source now or something?

  12. I changed my mind again cause I feared Cipher could become too much of a martial damages dealer, and I'm going to pick this solution you were rooting for. SW/BW 0.625 focus per damages BW generates 75% of DW focus vs full penetration without further lashes. But I will still pick something from my previous solution, SA damages increased with BW, but only x1.33 : With BW : primary_weapon_final_dmg + [10 + (focus - 10) / 3] * [1 + 0.05 * (pl - 1)] * (1 + damage_bonuses + weapon_damage_bonuses) BW generates 75% focus from DW so multiplicating by 1.33 will ensure similar damages for the raw damages part. This is the safest solution cause it does not create raw lash monsters, but ensure DW does not provide a better raw lash than BW by the magic of SA. Final (I hope) nutshell : - BW does x1.2 weapon damages from DW - BW provides x0.75 focus for spells from DW when full PEN (better ratio when underPEN, slightly worse with other lashes) - BW does the same damages as DW for SA raw damages part with similar previous attack (the weapon attack part will do x1.2 weapon damages)

  13. Barbarian in season three is great. As long as I hit at least three enemies, my charge has a cooldown of 1.5 seconds. Feels like plowing through enemy groups with a freight train. Ran into The Butcher in one of the Nightmare Vaults. I heard his signature "Ah, fresh meat!" and then he was dead. Instantly. Yeah. Guess they really made charge a bit OP.

  14. I was thinking maybe something can be done with SA too, but wouldn't it be extra complicated to describe, since SA is a core ability? I guess you need to make another version of BW for soulblade? Saying "does more damage with a tier 3 upgrade" in SA description at lv1 is weird.

  16. There's a comedian I feel the same about even though this is the food part of the post. Sebastian something or other I think. Something about him I find off putting and can't get past to actually experience the comedy. The guy who takes his shirt off is the same for me. I can't get over my initial disgust.

  17. After few days of break while “driving” around Spa, I went back to Dark Souls Remastered and cleared Smough and Ornstein. On second try This time no cheese, but went for “Super” Smough this time, as I was still missing his soul and armor. Also, crafter Scythe from soul of Priscilla, which made clearing the room in front of the fight a walk in the park Then I have decided to try out the Bridge Dragon in a non-cheese way. And failed again. We’ll see how that goes next time, after clearing few more bosses.

  21. When the in-game clock shows "day 19," that's when you should be at the castle. Calculate the hours it takes you to travel to the castle from another map so that you arrive there on day 19. The time of day is also crucial; it doesn't suffice to arrive on "day 19, hour 2X." It must be "day 19, hour 0X or 1X" (for example, day 19, hour 05, or day 19, hour 11). Day 19, hour 22 won't work; even though it's day 19, the loot hasn't changed yet—it's still using the loot from day 18. I hope I'm explaining myself well. Important days for items that personally interest me (all in Raedric's Castle): Day 6, hour 0X or 1X (again, hour 2X won't work; that hour always uses loot from the previous day) —-> Ring of Searing Flames, in the chest at the foot of Raedric's bed. Day 9, hour 0X or 1X (2 important items) -> Rymrgand's Mantle, in the small chest on the desk, in the room next to Raedric's bedroom. Boots of Stability -> Catacombs, in the cell area, in the chest next to the stairs leading up to the ceiling (not to be confused with the hidden loot in the cells; that's different). Day 11, hour 0X or 1X -> Boots of Stealth, hidden box on the roof, accessed from stairs near Raedric's priest, the one who sends you to save Giacco. Day 19, hour 0X or 1X -> Gloves of Manipulation, hidden loot in the cells, the cell near where Giacco is. There's more loot, but none relevant to me; that's just personal opinion. I've noted what interests me the most. You can quickly reach day 19 by simply clearing maps, traveling, taking rests to recover—no need to "cheat" and sleep intentionally. Traveling and engaging in combat still pass the time. I'll leave this here in case it proves useful to someone. PS: Translated english, sorry xD I hope this is understood

  22. not that it makes one movie better than another, but roald dahl's book were more creepy than the burton movie. in his movie adaptation, burton added a bit o' character development insofar as family interactions which were not in the book, but many o' the creepier scenes left outta the 1971 film were included by burton. maybe not too well known nowadays, but something like a half-dozen dahl stories were used by alfred hitchc0ck for his tv series and dahl rare pulled any punches when writing for a younger audience--creepy and dark even by 2024 standards. dahl's book were also a bit less cultural sensitive than either movie depiction. fair or not, burton's film were predictable measured by the 1971 film standard but am suspecting the director were more interested in adapting the dahl book than remaking the 1971 movie. master of the obvious observation: roald dahl's book were not a musical. the 1971 movie included numerous tunes which is pop culture mainstays even after 50 years. HA! Good Fun!

  23. Good question. Blinding Smoke counts as weapon attack (for example it can trigger Avenging Storm) - but I'm not sure if it also transports the properties of the Clear Out attack (pushing and kockdown/interrupt). Chain Shot (the +1 bounce for Fire in the Hole) does def. transport those effects (its AoE, too) so I think it's the save bet to use it over Blinding Smoke... I mean if you are only looking out for max. interrupts. Chain Shot is also the better option for damage per use of Clear Out. However - Chain Shot does not cause flanked when used with Clear Out while Blinding Smoke does. I believe a SC Tactician can harvest more Discipline from triggering Brilliant + fewer interrupt chances (Blinding Smoke) than he can from not triggering Brilliant + higher interrupt chances (Chain Shot). But I may be wrong. I didn't try and compare both weapons thoroughly enough to make a def. statement. Should Blinding Smoke transport the interrupting, too then I would use Blinding Smoke/Hand Mortar I guess. Then... in a party with enough potential to cause mass flanking (see Cipher with Phantom Foes for example) Blinding Smoke might be the inferior choice anyway because the disorienting/flanking effect of Blinding Smoke isn't really needed. So, it all depends I guess - as most of times with this game. Best would be to try both options during some proper fights, compare the results and then decide.

  24. You mean like BRICS, I have heard about it? Its all about creating a more equitable and fairer world and giving the Global South a seat at the table. And its deeply influenced by China and Russia and these are examples of countries that have always cared about global inequality, because they not Western countries, so it has to succeed and then the likes of Saudi Arabia should also be joining BRICS. Another fine example of country where human rights and a multipolar world matters

  25. Inferno (1980) A visually stunning giallo with a great operatic rock track that nevertheless left me feeling unsatisfied. It just doesn't really hold up if you compare it to Suspira, which is in all ways I can think of a better film. Still, it's worth a watch simply for the visual experience and that one track really makes me feel like I had a dream of a horror film. But since it was a great looking film with at least one incredible track........... Tetsuo the Iron Man (1989) Rewatch This is like if someone made a feature length music video to accompany a very grimy industrial and I mean that completely complimentary. It's an incredible ride that is just so absurd you can't help but laugh hysterically. I have listened to a track from the soundtrack at least once a day since I watched it a few days ago. Thanks for reminding me of this @Bartimaeus

  26. Man, even 10 years ago this would have excited me a fair bit. Now it's just "meh." Especially ... well, Netflix movie? But it is definitely fantastic to see Axel, Rosewood and Taggart on the screen together again (very end of trailer). That trio was gold.
