  2. In Finland there is no minimum required amount of votes for party to get seat in parliament, but we have 13 electoral districts, switch have certain amount seat based on population of the district and seat per district are divided between parties using D'Hondt method, which causes that party needs ~3% of all the votes in district in order to get 1 seat in parliament, which means that small parties almost never get even 1 seat. In last election we had 16 parties, from which 8 have been in parliament now for 30 years or more. These main parties again took 199 of 200 seat and 8 other parties got 1 and it went to billionaire business man that left one of the main parties and formed own party. And even from that starting point winning that 1 seat very difficult. Usually in elections parties outside of main 8 don't get any seats. This is because parties in the parliament have supreme advantage of getting all press time before the election and almost all the press time during election, so building voter base is expensive and difficult process that can take decades, which usually lead parties breaking because of infighting before they have even one member in parliament. Also main parties are supported by fact that government's funding for parties is divided between parties based on how many members they have in parliament and that election advertisement is only allowed from couple months before election to election day. Which has caused that almost all the viable candidates will register themselves one of the main parties list instead of trying to fight almost unbeatable fight to get one seat for minor party, as even with that one seat you need to do cooperate with main eight in order to get anything to done.

  3. On a gaming-related note, somehow I was able to save all not-pokemons in The Wild at Heart up to the final battle, while there, the not-pokemons were dropping dead even under the invincibility potion effects.

  4. Yup. Same. Little social life, so I watch films or game in my free time. speaking of which: Jusant. It’s pleasant, though I wasn’t too blown away by it. Story relies a bit too much on written notes, and it is just not enjoyable way for me to absorb the narrative. Climbing is enjoyable, but almost a walking simulator. It is a bit more involved when it comes to player input that your usually climbing in games, but not in actual mechanics. Some clever ideas here and there, but as didn’t find it to be particularly interesting in itself. It’s still autopilot, but you press two buttons intermittently, instead of holding forward. Like a Dragon: Ishin! It’s good! Probably my 2nd favourite Yakuza game, due to change of the setting, though I also fought it was somewhat more sloppy than the usual fare. Map is more stretched out, and mini games more seperate from the main map - I found myself having to consciously engage with side content, while usually Yakuzas are great in drawing you in, as you go around your business. Main mini game (managing your homestead) ends up being tedious - you farm and cook stuff that you can later use or sell. However cooking comes with its own mini game. It’s fun at first, when when you get order for 10 meals, it’s stop being fun. I think there should be an upgrade to skip the mini game once one progresses. I also found fighting styles to be uneven. There is one which is pretty much better than anything else, and one which is completely useless. I have been tempted to play cyberpunk, so I decided to give a replay to a better version of it: Deus Dx (Mankind Divided as I played it only once). It’s still a flawed sequel, but I am enjoying it more 2nd time around.

  6. people like simple. people like brevity. in 2023, too many people get their news and info single-serving sized and then think they is educated on issues. we like honest government ad, but it is single-serving fare and relying on it is gonna lead to misunderstandings in a few cases. extrapolating to apply to other situations and nations is even more dangerous. example: in the land o' the free and the home o' the brave, we fixed (HA!) honest ad "sum up" problems two and three way back in 2009. heck, the US mostly addressed honest ad spending concerns back in 1976 with another case, buckley v. valeo. while citizens united deserved gets much attention, buckley is where our campaign finance issues exploded. yeah, 'cause there weren't much money involved in being an elected official pre 1976, only wealthy old guys ran for political office and they all too frequent turned to graft to make dough while in office. opening up the political spending spigot didn't reduce corruption and we still got an old man issue... but those is tangential issues, right? *chuckle* regardless, does it look as if more money flowing into the electoral process resulted in more equitable voting outcomes for the US? take as a warning: (paraphrase) those the gods choose to destroy, to them they grant wishes. in other words, is so not the same situation for the US even if at first glance it might look and feel same. honest ad is funny and we enjoy, but they tend to oversimplify and they frequent promote questionable conclusions based on suspect evidence, which is ok 'cause they is doing for laughs and hopeful trying to get people to further educate selves. unfortunate, all too often am suspecting honest ad, daily show, fox news and other comedy news sources is ends rather than starting points for those wishing to be educated on the important issues o' the day. and yeah, we get the irony o' trying to explain the honest ad extrapolation problem with a single-serving video, but trying to combat endemic ignorance o' the electorate via a game message board is sisyphean. HA! Good Fun!

  8. I did make and publish a mod that replaces the title screen with plain beautiful black, not to everyone's taste's perhaps, but for me I like the simplicity. The mod also renders invisible the Versus Evil startup logo and hides the news tab of the title screen. Thanks again @Kvellen for the helpful information. Here's a link to the mod if anyone wants it: Deadfire - No Logo - No News - Blank Background https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/724

  11. Started another playthrough as Wyll. His default facial expression of sheer horror is superior to the custom PC's smile. So far there have been quite a few continuity bugs - Zelvor expressing shock at the devil transformation of his good friend Wyll, then asking for introductions, Wyll remarking that slaying Karlach will save the locals with Karlach already in the party, etc. Otherwise, it is as expected - leaping forward to adventure with as little combat as possible. Considering purchasing Weird West, though. While I am not exactly fond of the setting or the lack of character customisation, it had better stealth, RT combat, and I don't remember any continuity issues in the demo.

  12. I completed Kotor 2 after 40 hours and I thought it was an overall better game than Kotor 1. It gets a 72/100 on the globally popular " BruceVC game rating system " I enjoyed the narrative and was surprised how the " good " Jedi were actually my enemies at the end. I did have to use heal cheats in one or two combats when my main character wasnt fighting because the combat was almost impossible But I ended up saving my party members at the end, staying true to the light side, supporting the Republic and trying to Romance Visas which was disappointingly just a platonic Romance and sharing some sort of spiritual force bonding ..boring But good game overall, my character was deadly at the end with dual wielding lightsabers and using speed and quick heal to win most battles..oh and my trusty Verpine Prototype shield was invaluable

  13. I know Germany and Denmark (at least used to) have some other minimum requirements like 5% and 2% respectively of the votes in order to get seats. Bar some constitutional exceptions for ethic minorities that is. Lots of parties, but not just “frivolous” in nature edit: doesn’t that there isn’t a lot of small parties, but they need to get enough votes to get parliamentary representation. In Germany you usually have 4-5 parties with seats (decades old info, someone please correct me). Denmark had half a dozen parties in parliament give or take a few

  14. am kinda ambivalent 'bout italian filmmakers. bicycle thieves and umberto d is two vittorio de sica films which has both, at one time or another, graced our list o' top fifteen films all-time. am having a bias against films about film, but am gonna be honest and admit we teared up the first time we saw cinema paradiso. am not a huge fan o' fellini, but am able to see how his influenced many filmmakers we do like. etc. on the other hand, korean film is a tough slog for us. we don't like b-horror but am admitting koreans has done such well. we finally saw parasite after all the hoopla died down-- meh. the premise required insurmountable suspension o' disbelief. in fact, is a few lauded korean films which require excessive voluntary density. example: viewing snowpiercer has us shedding neurons by the minute. is a bunch o' ok korean martial arts films which coverup flaws with more than a little "ultra-violence." just not a fan thus far. different strokes. HA! Good Fun!

  15. I remember reading that a while ago. It's sad that the series ended because there have been a lot of recent films that would be great to see someone analyze. Anyways....I've been cooking more so now my YouTube algorithm recs are movie/series clips, music, vidya game clips, and recipes with the occasional technical video. Not a bad slice tbh.

  17. Goal nr. 10 finished November 25, 21:30 With the defeat of 6-winged Ethereal Queen, and unlocking of last character ending for Emmerson, my PS4 Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness Universe difficulty playthrough has been finished on 100% today. During my way to 100%, I had to unlock 4 ultra rare Trophies, which have been acquired by less than 1% of game owners. One for crafting all recipes, one for finding every single item, one for finding every single enemy, and one for fulfilling the prerequisites for all of the in-game Battle Trophies. The hardest Trophy, as always, was the Battle Trophy one, as it included the infamous one for 1 million hits. To get this one, I had to spent more than 30 hours fighting against Bloodbane over and over, but I left the last hit for this Trophy for the EQ fight :) . The game got a lot of bashing when it was released, mostly due to the Fiore’s dress, but IMHO, it was one of the best JRPGs released in 2016, as it stayed faithful to its Japanese roots without trying to appease western Skyrim audience unlike FFXV.

  19. Yup, it exploded out of the gate, and has been growing ever since. I tried it briefly, and hope to force myself to play more of it. Seems like a very well put together title, though it’s not something that I particularly enjoy.

  20. After doing some non-ship hunting stuff for a while, I did more ship hunting today. And then, I finally found one I might keep! But ... IT'S ORANGE again. Oh well, it's cute. Meet Hopper Tank (the top shape makes me think of leaf hoppers). Look at those feet. I feel like it should both fly and be a ground roamer, but sadly no. Also, tried to salvage/get rid of that Living Ship. Game told me "Can't salvage a living being!" So I traded it with some random NPC pilot for his cruddy ship (and got rid of his), but since he was still standing there (vs. disappearing like usual), I found I could still hire him for my fleet squadron. So he flies the Living Ship now. You can actually observe it.

  21. Just a pic as an excuse to say: GRAVITY IS FOR CHUMPS. ...or as subtitle: "What everyone does after they go back to a forgotten base and discover terrain and features have respawned, with a giant tree or boulder sprouting in the middle of your stuff." Every single base of mine that is more than the "base registration computer" is off the ground. ...7 Days to Die with structural integrity building rules this ain't.
