  1. Just left the doctors office 15 minutes ago. According to his test and the lab results from blood tests taken last week, I’m a perfectly healthy 30 year old… I’m beginning to think my birth certificate has a typo Just kidding, I’m in (surprisingly) good health for my age and I appreciate being so

  2. The guys i sit next to at work both had fancy letterhead letters from HR waiting for them. I've been dreading what comes next all day. .. It was contract renewals, it's fine, everybody's fine. I don't have to pretend to be interested to get to know new people.

  3. Yes, they do stack. I don't remember any conversions that suppress each other. However, conversions don't stack additively (like "25% and 30% make 55%). Instead they get tried one after the other until either one converts or none of them does. Because of that you must calculate the overall conversion chance multiplicatively. Easiest way (imo): multiply all chances not to convert. Like 0.75 * 0.7 = 0.525 chance NOT to convert. 1-0.525 = 0.475 chance to convert (or 47.5%). Cleaves do trigger Swift Flurry etc. A kill by Cleaving does trigger another Cleave. So in theory you can cleave all enemies around you to death with one initial killing blow to one of them - if they all have low enough health to get one-shotted by your Cleaves. That's why a Berserker/Fighter with Amra (Riven Gore) can cause absolute mayhem if there lots of low health characters around him. Beware: confused Fighters (see Berserker or Tactician or just got hit by a confusion spell) will Cleave into party members and allies! An enemy cannot get damaged by Carnage multiple times from the same attack. You will see messages like "was already affected by a similar effect" if Carnage hits an enemy multiple times. So the effect of AoE weapons with Carnage is limited.

  4. Well, that's literally what happened with E.T. at least, so there's precedent.

  5. Wait, you buy console exclusive games and then throw them in the trash? That's pretty weird.

  6. Minako ropes Rei into having to give a concert at the hospital for sick children. She's rehearsing with Usagi, who looks a little bewildered. Rei asks if she was that bad, to which Usagi replies that her singing is fine, but that Rei is a little kowai. So that's it then, Usagi also thinks Rei looks terrifying. Good to know I'm not alone.

  8. I am very not much to speed with FF games. I lost interest somewhere around VIII and just heard that MMO go very good, and XIII was a disappointment. I find YP’s view of FF IP interesting, as I thought it is a guaranteed gang buster seller, but I personally do see series as stale. Going action route isn’t really boosting my confidence - outside few exceptions I really dislike action RPGs, as I see action combat and stats as designs that clash, rather than contribute to each other. Still, “combat designer of DMC5” does peak my interest - not that I expect FFXVI to be a spectacle fighter, but maybe there will be a satisfying core combat there. I am also not on board with “dark” take - if it’s really mature setting, with interesting geopolitics I might dig it, but I had my fill of teen angst games. Still curious how the game will turn out and be received. Without PS I won’t have means to play it by a long time (if ever), so I don’t really have a horse in the race.

  9. You'll be happy finding Bull's Will available for SC Ciphers then (since MC Ciphers could get it from their other class tree and stack with Iron Will... didn't seem faire). Good point about TLK usual strategy. I'll leave this out of the equation. OK, maybe I haven't explained super well. Shadowed Hunters is a package with : - a 30s max invisibility - a 30s defensive buff - a 60s intuitive that starts only after invisibility. (I'm taking into account base duration to simplify, but using the real duration basically add a multiplicative factor to all durations). Let's say you attack right after a few positionning seconds (not significant). 30s after cast, the defensive part run out, but intuitive is still up. If you want to re-cast SH, when do you do it ? 1) You wait until intuitive runs out. This means your defensive buff won't be up. 2) You re-cast SH, meaning you waste 30s of intuitive. 3) At some point between 1) and 2) Having more Bond, means re-casting SH several times in a single battle more likely. Hence making the SH dilemna more annoying (minor annoyance maybe). It is basically the only buff in the game with these different durations. I made it this way because I wanted to give something strong for the price of 3 Bonds, so I rised Intuitive duration alone a bit artificially. That's why I think having all durations harmonized would be a good thing. (I can keep the Intuitive after invisibility since it is slightly more interesting gameplay wise and adds some flexibility). Now that TLK is out of the equation, I could consider : - a 45s max invisibility - a 45s defensive buff - a 45s intuitive that starts only after invisibility (but is likely to end about the same time as defensive part in most cases). It would feel more or less neutral in term of balance, with still a quite long Intuitive. I could increase healing to 12 hp per 3s tick to round things up. This would be a Robust equivalent you'll get on your road to Intuitive (granted that Bonded Fury provides the Hardy part). I have implemented up to +30% as reviewed by Bosmer. It seems fair. I would still consider +20 all defense better in raw power, but : - the damages bonus synergizes better with the acc bonus for DPS. - it is ideal for any hybrid melee / ranged build. Gather some charges in melee then focus on ranged DPS - bonus damages is a more rare buff than all defenses (which is still somewhat rare). I don't remember a party buff to damages. - bonus damages is relatively more efficient with spells (for MC Ranger / Caster). For weapons, I use the same metric as you : +X% damages bonus = +X/2% multiplicative factor (even less for Rogues). For for spell, it is close from +X% multiplicative (bar MIG and a couple other).

  10. is not uncommon for us to get a hankering for fry bread, but our grandmother made with lard, so it don't taste right to us unless is made with lard. probable the only reason grandma used lard is 'cause such is what we typical had available. unfortunate, we rare have lard on hand anymore, so is equal rare we make fry bread. oh well. our grandfather claimed he preferred absolute ghastly wildrice flat bread/cakes. the wild rice abominations were a pre-colonial staple not requiring wheat flour or baking powder. eating those things is where our lifelong disgust o' wild rice began. HA! Good Fun!

  11. have mentioned previous how the goal o' many stories written for kids is to teach 'em bout death and/or to make 'em weep. why? dunno. steinbeck's red pony, patterson's bridge to teribithia, yawlings yearling and too many others to list has a beloved pet, animal companion and/or dear friend die. in fact, disney added the death o' gurgi to their black cauldron 'cause old disney had some weird rule that kids need weep at least once in their earlier films? how many theatres over the years went nuts with kid wails when bambi's mother were shot? it is not difficult to make kids cry, so am always having been curious as to why a goal o' many writers o' children's fare is to generate tears. suppressed sadism? HA! Good Fun!

  12. OK, I tried to correct the non scaling items on clones. The bad news is that I failed. Somehow the clones "don't die the same way as you" and the passive bonus that added the scaling gets evaporated even before the clones complete their attack. That's why they don't get the scaling. The good news is that the scaling problem is only about items that trigger their effects on knockdown. Other passive effect scales as for any characters. A bit sad since the KD items would have been very cool on clones.

  13. Forbidden Fist/paladin is basically immortal while also doing great damage (use Tuotilo's Palm and Mohora Tanga for maximum effectiveness and gladiator style). Can also use Sacred Immolation for massive AoE damage with very little drawbacks (max resolve/Clarity of Agony).

  14. I've had it many times and it's pretty good. They have a food truck that used to come to the Denver Fed Center once a week. Of course, I think many of my family's fry bread is better but I grew up with a lot of similar foods.

  15. Ah, so you're wanting a spellcaster that can also tank. I tend to build mage/martial hybrids the other way, mostly casting a few buffs and then whacking things with a stick, vs whacking things with a stick then casting damage / CC spells. I didn't realize the modals could be insta-switched like that. I mean it makes sense, but for some reason the animation on the modal refreshes every time you switch weapons (like turning it off to on) so I assumed it was actually cycling it off/on, but I checked and with quick switch you can in fact insta switch with the modals active which is pretty cool. Your concept of quick switching to debuff fort/reflex/will is good, should be pretty effective and net you effective +25 accuracy when landing crucial spells You probably want a club too, Kapana Taga is the best, does crush/slash and has good melee enchants (+engagement, flanking immunity etc.), and the club modal does -25 will. Or you can stick with a morning star, the willbreaker morning star is really good for debuffs, -3 will on hit stacks 5 times, plus the fortitude debuff modal. But if you're doing black jacket might as well have dedicated club for when you need to quickly debuff will. In that case saru sichr may be preferable. You can get it early and it does a lot of corrode DOT. And I guess yeah sun and moon is pretty dang good for this purpose of debuffing reflex and acting as a stat stick. I tend to prefer Sungrazer or Ball and Chain for the on-crit effects but if you're mostly casting hard to beat sun and moon. I made a black jacket / blood mage with stats 8/14/15/19/18/3, if you don't want to dump resolve that much something like 8/11/13/19/18/8 would also work. Maxing dex isn't as big a concern because you can cast deleterious alacrity for a long lasting action speed boost (about 90s with the first stats). And we don't care a ton for resolve because of llengrath's safeguard and fighter bonuses helping out. Probably want at least some CON so can blood sacrifice, but with hylea's bounty and tough you can have a decent health pool even with middling CON. There are very likely some cool weapon interactions of which I'm unaware. My knowledge in this area is kinda limited. Ones I do know: Bardatto's Luxury's Death and Taxes Hardy inspiration is easily procced on ally unconsciousness and has a long duration. You can proc it with essential/substantial phantoms also, switch to the mace and kill them at near death for the hardy inspiration which lasts around 2 minutes with high int Also you might want one weapon slot with scordeo's edge and/or scordeo's trophy so you can open with that and get some -recovery time (or if lucky proc blade cascade and extend with wall of draining) Griffin's Blade is really nice as a stat stick also. Can dual wield that in the offhand and get +10% damage with spells / 5 will or +10% action speed / 5 reflex, plus steadfast on 50% health once per encounter, in main hand use flail/club. Can dual wield it in multiple slots using "copy" function (little white square in top right of weapon icon). My go to setup would probably be slot 1: sun and moon + griffin's blade (for debuffs and casting) slot 2: kapana taga + griffin's blade (for debuffs and casting) slot 3: saru sichr or willbreaker (for debuffs and damage) slot 4: scordeo's edge + scordeo's trophy or bardatto's luxury or whatever (for buffs and damage) Or if you want to be tankier lethandria's devotion is a really nice medium shield that helps healing also. The large shield Akola's Apex Ward is super good but you have to hunt down a huana vegeance ship (wheneena eel's kiss) to get it, which requires tanking your rep with the huana really early (simplest way is kill everyone in takano's estate then hit the ocean), but it is top tier shield for making you tankier without sacrificing much accuracy due to blood rage effect (+10 accuracy on bloodied). hope this helps

  16. I am kvetching on the weather here. I've had about 3 and a half days of weather good enough to do priming and painting in over the last two months. I thought it had turned a corner last week, but now we're back to a serious cold snap due to icy winds from Siberia. So I have scattered pieces of Mando armour waiting to be properly done that I can't because we keep sinking below 10 Centigrade temps and that causes the paint to go funky. And of course my budget was on the spray cans that I can't use inside the house. I've been nibbling away on the small accessories, because I can nip outside, spray and then put them back in the house instead of the garage, without the house getting fumed up. Which I can't do with the significantly larger armour pieces. Still. I do now have some shiny. My DT-10 heavy blaster "clean" and assembled (now I need to give thought to how I'm going to approach weathering it):

  18. Okay. This day is officially over. I am, for a lack of a better term, exhausted by the sheer amount of incompetence of what feels like everyone working in IT. I ask someone from which IP address(es) they are going to connect to our system for the data transfer as we need to white list on the firewall, and the answer is: 192.168.XXX.XXX.

  20. Another snowstorm in, so guess that's my weekend plans - shoveling. More annoying will be the difficulty in getting around to do groceries and such, mostly due to idiots that think snow tires are a luxury or unnecessary combined with their GTA level driving skills.

  21. If it's the Hans Christian Andersen version of The Little Mermaid, it was published in Fairy Tales Told for Children collection (1837). If the title is anything to go by, it was aimed at a younger audience.

  22. A 3070 TI would run me 600€ vs. the 900€ for a 7900 XT, but I already got a 3060, so getting a 3070 TI for that amount of money isn't the best choice. There was a point in time when rebates made the 4070 TI dip below 900€, I should have bought one then. Looks like I'm going to ride this gen out, unless something magical happens and the 4060 type cards suddenly offer much better value. Really doubtful. Edit: Wee, double posted, meant to edit this one into the other reply, bah.
