I hope this is not off-topic or inappropriate or anything, but with people falling out of windows in Russia, I was reminded of the classic evolution of a picture taken with Stalin and some other people (or not) in it. This sort of tinkering with history is of course not unique to Russia, but this is a particularly interesting example. There's huge potential for a game of both "He was never with me" and "I was never with him" right now as well.3 points

I was in a mood for some Mass Effect yesterday and that led me to discovering several interesting things. Firstly is that EA's Origin is dead, long live EA app. Don't see what's the point other than uninstalling the corpse and installing new guy, because function still the same? Though wait no, because new app told me I didn't have DA:I and Andromeda uninstalled which I promptly rectified to great relief of my HD. Secondly, it appears that ME2 and 3's DLCs are now free. Great, Imma finally find out what that Citadel DLC is all about! ...hmmmmm, but to get to it I'll have to play some ME3, no way around it. Oh well. Maybe. One day. Totally.2 points

Sorry for my flippant tone in my last couple posts. I spent A LOT of time thinking about, testing, and writing out feedback and I got a little frustrated. So I took a break from checking this thread. I agree with @theleeregarding Swift, and I don't think Ishiza being immune to engagement is much of an argument here. Not sure why you nixed Robust for Bonded Fury, at some point you were considering Swift/Energized/Robust. Disagree with thelee that my proposed Bonded Fury is too strong, certainly not the inspirations part. It does make Bonded Fury a must-take talent, but it is going to be like that anyway for the resource regen, and you get four picks for Tier 8 abilities, so I don't see the problem. My only other comment here that I haven't already beaten to death is that pet damages are in fact pretty bad compared to the ranger and really any character. Pet base accuracy is 103 at L20. With Marked Prey and Bonded Fury it is 118. My ranger I'm testing with a mythic hunting bow has accuracy 133, and with marked prey, stalkers link, and various items that jumps to 158. 163 with Swift Hunters. This difference of 40/45 means the ranger will graze/hit/crit vs miss/graze/hit vastly more often. The boar penetration is okay at 14 (with vicious) but the damage type is piercing which is overall the worst in the game. A mixed damage type would help a lot in output. Not sure about damage type for all the others, haven't tested all the pets. Ranger has similar penetration with hunting bows but has mixed damage types. The damage roll is also much lower with the pet. Base damage is quite a bit lower (how much depends on weapon, but even with hunting bow the boar base damage is lower), and the modifiers are lower. With bonded fury, vicious, and 60% tusk scaling my boar gets +93% damage with normal pen, which isn't bad but my base 12 might ranger has +137% damage. So combining the lower base and lower modifiers the end result is pretty low. Ranger also benefits from items like hit to crit with power of money, blackblade hood etc Attack speed is also worse. Hard to tell exactly, but the boar seems to attack about once per 4 to 5 seconds (if it's really fast like a stiletto, then 3.5, but I've tried timing and seems more like 4.5). My 15 dex ranger attacks once per 2.4 seconds with hunting bow modal, once per 3.3 without. If we have dex inspirations or things like Sure-handed ila being chanted the difference is higher. There is no way an endgame rogue dual-wielding legendary stilettos does similar damage. Rogue gets dirty fighting, sneak attacks, death blows etc. But even ignoring that, dual-wielding stilettos with two-weapon-fighting I get one attack per 1.7s with base dex 15 and blackblade's hood (what I was wearing anyway). Plus higher accuracy and damage modifiers hit to crit etc. I think the base character should do a lot more damage than the pet (4 times as much seems fine), but in practice it is much higher, like 10x+ except in the easiest fights. In the toughest fights the difference is extreme. Vs Dorudugan for instance I'm getting 3 damage on a hit with the pet and 60ish on a hit with the ranger, and since the ranger hits/crits more and attacks faster the damage output is more like 50x higher. And given the pet will die vs Dorudugan, ranger/pet ratio shifts even higher. This is an extreme scenario since the pet always underpens vs Dorudugan, but it is not so uncommon that tougher enemies have high pierce AR, and bows have pierce/slash or pierce/shock etc. so ranger has some options to do better pen, or switch to melee weapons and so forth. Pet DPS may look okay on paper but you add up all these little differences in practice and it's really bad. Worse than even one chanter summon usually. To me the problem can be summed up like this: Pets don't have enough combat utility to justify risking them in fights where they're likely to die. So one can solve this problem by making using them less risky and/or improving their combat utility to justify said risks. Preferably both. --------------- By the way, I've mentioned this before but pet (actual pet) party wide buffs don't work on a lot of the pets for summons or animal companion, like animancy cat doesn't give the bonuses to many summons, and sky dragon wyrm doesn't give any of the bonuses to the boar. Oh and how much armor malus do pets get? Not sure why they have any honestly since they don't wear armor.2 points

I am kvetching on the weather here. I've had about 3 and a half days of weather good enough to do priming and painting in over the last two months. I thought it had turned a corner last week, but now we're back to a serious cold snap due to icy winds from Siberia. So I have scattered pieces of Mando armour waiting to be properly done that I can't because we keep sinking below 10 Centigrade temps and that causes the paint to go funky. And of course my budget was on the spray cans that I can't use inside the house. I've been nibbling away on the small accessories, because I can nip outside, spray and then put them back in the house instead of the garage, without the house getting fumed up. Which I can't do with the significantly larger armour pieces. Still. I do now have some shiny. My DT-10 heavy blaster "clean" and assembled (now I need to give thought to how I'm going to approach weathering it):2 points

No, it's not. The US is currently attacking Canada and holding Mexico by way of having its designated puppet as president there; Joe Biden's ranting speeches contain all the same themes of satanism and what have you. The forcibly mobilized hordes sent to Canada consist mostly of indigenous American peoples, such as the Pawnee and the Navajo. I can't see a difference between the US and Russia in this or any other regard; you're quite right and your observation is remarkably astute and pertinent.2 points

we said we didn't like the peter pan stories, but am nevertheless recognizing something clever j.m. barrie did with the play and novel. children is gonna enjoy the tale in a much different way than will adults. is not simple a matter o' how with more education and experience adults will recognize aspects o' story which may be less obvious to children. is not a phantom tollbooth or even rocky and bullwinkle situation. the core themes o' pan stories is dealing with childhood and kids ain't equipped to understand. the inability o' children to grok peter and wendy is a cognitive development obstacle as 'posed to lack of knowledge. events and scenes from barrie stories in which child audiences is meant to laugh and cheer, an adult audience is likely to feel pity or even weep. have never seen return to neverland, so we cannot speak to its quality, and as already noted, am not a fan o' peter pan in general. even so, peter pan stories should be viewed different as adults compared to when one is a child. if you saw or read a peter pan tale as a kid, then is appropriate your childhood memories should be fundamental altered when experiencing as an adult. HA! Good Fun!1 point

It's not a musical, which we can all be thankful for. This reminds me that as a kid, I watched the direct-to-DVD sequel to Disney's Peter Pan, Return to Neverland, and I remember liking it. IIRC, it takes place during...probably World War II, with a new main character, Jane, and her city/home is getting bombed at the beginning of the film? I have recently learned that it was apparently(?) terrible, so I should probably re-watch it to appropriately destroy more of my childhood memories. I should also probably get a copy of Hook for my nieces to watch at some point.1 point

Well I became tired of trying to 100% some stuff so I finally did the last Main Quest in Hogwart's. On Normal, it was probably the easiest final fight I've encountered. It was visually fun tho and the whole game was combat-easy so it fits in. I don't think their intended/expected audience was Dark Souls aficionado's (which I'm not one of those, either) so it's all good and I can appreciate a game that doesn't constantly sweaty-palm stress me out at all, if that makes sense. I definitely feel like this is an adventure/light puzzle/story game more than anything else. Anyway, time to try that Hufflepuff start.1 point

Stalker/Soul Blade is very powerful, 20 accuracy from borrowed instinct stacks with ranger accuracy bonuses so you can build around crit effect weapons. Voidwheel's necrotic lance works with driving flight for example, lot of synergies. You can heal your pet with Pain block, take down combo + disintegration basicly destroys tough enemies vs vs...1 point

I haven't been able to find any lists of items/abilities, etc that give certain immunities, resistances, or stackable effects, which I always prefer to refer to before planning a new run, and try out new fun builds. So I made my own list based off of own extensive excel notes, and some wiki details. I've only completed 6 playthroughs so am no means familiar with all the abilities and classes, especially since I multiclass most of the time, so if any of the abilities listed are off or mistakenly listed, please let me know. Firstly, the exceedingly strong immunities, that prevent adverse status effects and afflictions, and prevents your own inspirations from being removed by debuffs. And resistances to afflictions, that downgrade an affliction by a tier, which is exceedingly useful to have partywide resistances to prevent the corresponding strong Tier 3 afflictions, while shrugging off annoying Tier 1 afflictions. Immunity to Engagement / being engaged by enemies: Grog (pet) also prevents any engagement Magnificent Escape Cape (cape, <50% hp, 1/encounter) Escape, etc (Rogue/Priest of Skaen abilities) Deleterious alacrity of motion, etc (Wizard spells) Wild sprint (Barbarian ability) Potion of invisibility (potion) Immunity to Disengagement attack: (disengagement attacks still proc but turn into miss) Gipon Prudensco (light armor) Nomad's brigandine (heavy armor) Immunity to Flanked: Gipon Prudensco (light armor) Squid's escape (weapon - rapier) Kapana Taga (weapon - club) Immunity to Push/pull: Horns of the Aurochs (helm) Upright Captains belt (belt) Immunity to Interrupt: Rekvu's Fractured Casque (helm) Immunity to Reflex attacks: Eder's Saint's War Armor (medium armor) Immunity to fire damage: Rekvu's scorched cloak (cloak), fire damage heals instead Immunity to disease/poison: Spider silk robe (cloth armor) Righteous soul (paladin passive) Khapa tea (food/drink) Antidote (potion) Purge of toxins (druid ability) Immunity to Might afflictions: Effigy's Husk (cloth armor) Shark soup (food) Immunity to Constitution afflictions: Rekvu's Stained Grasps (gloves, while injured) Bardatto's Luxury (weapon - mace, >50% hp) Shark soup (food) Immunity to Dexterity afflictions: Spider silk robe (cloth armor) Sandals of the water lily (boots) Shark soup (food) Form of the Delemgan (druid ability) AOE Shatter their shackles... Well, there is always beta branch, like they did with Witcher3. Honestly, even Witcher3 has some features I am looking forward to try out, I am not sure what OW:SCE aims to bring. I don't know, $9.99 feels like too much. That's not far from how much they charged for actual DLCs, and unless I am greatly underestimating changes to the game, it seems like a very steep pricetag for a very little improvement. I am curious whose decision it is. Microsoft's or Private Division's.1 point

I heard there's a reason - outside of Achievements - to at least play the beginning of the game again as a Hufflepuff. I may do that. Not the whole game, just up to a certain point. It's a shame because I'd love more reason to replay/dwell in the created world, but there really isn't any, outside of self-imposed difficulty challenges. Not every game has to have major replayability, so it's fine, but when I like a game environment enough, I just wish there was a little more to do, to stay in it, is all.1 point

I'm 25 hours into KC:D and Im loving it, some general comments the open world design reminds me of an Elder Scrolls game. If you see a building or mountain you can go and explore. I like how the quests are designed, some have a timer on acceptance but most you can do when you ready The skills advancement system works nicely, I regularly go hunting to increase my agility or train with Captain Bernard to learn combat and increase my combat skills I love the numerous activities like hunting, archery competitions and the opportunity to steal items The economy is realistic and balanced, you really appreciate finding items on bandits and selling them to increase your wealth I have never been so grateful to get a horse during the Ginger quest. I really enjoy the entire realistic implementation of a Medieval world, I love fantasy but its nice to see something different I am enjoying the Romance arcs, I am courting Theresa and taking things slow. Its not my normal hot Viconia with fishnet stockings and knee-high boots Romance but its worthwhile I am getting more proficient in combat and thats always a good thing Its as realistic as it can be without being having annoying mechanics, the weight system works when you can use your horse for storage And I can carry on with whats great about this game but I have covered the main points I dont have any notable criticisms , one minor thing is how animals dont run away from you constantly even when you shooting arrows at them, they tend to stop so you can kill them. This makes hunting easy and unrealistic but I dont mind this1 point

you ninja-ed me on post-timing, but I disagree that this is bad. Maia's pet is too good. Maia's subclass is too good. Swift on a pet would be a payoff for SC Rangers that gives them an option that can compete with Maia's pet. As it is, it's frequently hard not to feel like a mainchar or merc ranger+pet setup is a bit of a trap compared to just rolling with Maia. Maia would still get an incredible pet for 100% of the game, and could multiclass and still have an incredible pet. Swift on Bonded Fury would just let mercs/mainchars have a similar lategame option in their toolkit if they want to.1 point

I neither use Abydon's Challenge nor BPM and I try to write stuff that applies to the vanilla game so that everybody is on the same page. The difference is (as I said in the initial post) that with Wahai Poraga you don't have to be confused (that usually means picking Berserker or Tactician) to combine on-kill effects with summons because Wahai Poraga does friendly fire. This means you can combine the skeletons with any other class pick (that has some useful ability to combine friendly fire with) instead of being bound to classes that can confuse (themselves). Another point was that it was not known (at least not to me) that when using Wahai Poraga with a Cipher you can gain focus from hitting friendly targets. Usually a cipher won't generate focus by hitting non-hostile targets (for exame when hitting charmed or dominated foes) - Wahai Poragas special mechanics seem to solve that "problem". As I said above, this makes it easy to harvest focus in fights where a Cipher usually struggles to generate good focus (like boss fights). --- I did lots of posts about the ability to use Confusion (mostly Berserker) to your advantage. Like a topic about Berserker/Cipher + Amplified Thrust and other cipher spells that can usually only be cast on allies, Berserker/Priest who uses Withdraw on enemies in order to take them out of the fight right away with no chance to resist (auto-hit), Berserker/Chanter with Grave Calling/Chilling Grave for unlimited Chillfogs, Berserker/Skald with Blightheart (bound to chanter) with Her Revenge so that using it on enemies would also kill your skeletons which grants 1 phrase (and Her Revenge only costs 2), turning you a bit into Emperor Palatine, Paladin's Devine Retribution with skeletons to gain unlimited Zeal (cool with Kind Wayfarer - unlimited AoE healing) and so on and so forth. Also a topic about Berserker+Amra+Skeletons. In that case the skeletons came from a party member - because I used a Berserker/Fighter to combine Blood Thirst with Cleaving Stance - which is a brutal combination with Riven Gore of Amra. It always instakills the many-lives skeletons because they always have less than 50hp. But this topic was more about the weapon and ways to make Wahai Poraga a viable pick - because else it's one of the most lame unique weapons there is unfortunately. Which is a pity because the way to get it is rel. long and imo cries for more rewarding loot. So maybe those few ideas for some weird synergies would help to build something cool and functional with it.1 point

Oh yeah, we have one party like that here, few years ago, when they were in government, they were selling our weapons to Al-Qaeda, with our prime minister publicly stating that, if we would not sell them, someone else would sell them. Now the same guy is preaching, how immoral it is to supply weapons to Ukraine. Both of these incidents with blessing from Russia, as most of the top guys in his party are very close to Usmanov and other Russian oligarchs, who were doing business here in pre-sanctions era and are still “reimbursing” them0 points

Well I finally beat persona 4 golden. Was good... the end of the game "that's not the real boss, THIS is the real boss, jk, this is actually the final boss. And now for the real final boss" was definitely getting annoying. Also I read that there is another TRUE final boss if you play new game plus... which I will not be doing. Now I don't know what to play . Soul hackers 2 is on game pass but I'm not sure I can handle another atlas game at the moment0 points

Hit a wall in Chaos Gate Daemonhunters, unfortunately means I have to grind through these torturous, tedious missions. Once again, not knowing what I'm doing has come to bite me in the ass. The boss fights were fun, I liked the fight where the boss regenerates, spawns adds the best. The idea that the way we win the crusade was from a daemon mentioning Drago was a good bit of humour.0 points
