All that talk about growing vegetables made me remember a fun little tidbit that happened to my partents last year. They're renting a patch of land near my grandmother's former home, roughly 20,000 square feet wedged between the street and a small river. Anyhow, last year mom planted some corn which was growing fine until they went on vacation. When they came back her uncle called and said that all of it was gone. You know, usually when people steal corn they only take a few ears. This time, well, everything was gone - neatly cut off right above the ground. All the corn. Vanished - quite literally over night. Some days later he called and said he found the missing corn while fishing. In... yeah, right. A beaver dam. Cheeky little bastards.1 point

That is more or less what Hillary tried to do last time- when she was running for nomination she aimed for the centre of the Democrat party to get the nomination and was more left than many of her previously established political positions; when running as the nominee she aimed more for the centre of the electorate (and to the right end of the D party spectrum), or at least the part of the electorate that would at least consider voting for her. That is historically what most candidates do in Presidential races in the US or elsewhere, the main exceptions tend to be the 'inspirational' candidates- Reagan, Obama, Trump recently in the US. It also has something to do with how the 'analysts' function, and how social media functions. It may be surprising given the weight their opinions are given but most analysts aren't experts, and their analysis tends to be extraordinarily simplistic. Someone who doesn't support western orthodoxy on Syria gets flagged as a 'Russian Bot', then if they support Gabbard because of her stance on Syria (and hence follow/ retweet/ like her on social media) it's support from bots, not support from actual people who agree with her stance on Syria. Because why would anyone disagree with with the highly successful western orthodoxy in the ME, except if they were being paid... And of course being social media you tend to get the web effect of people with similar views being exposed to her by other people with similar views; who then get flagged as 'russian bots' by 'analysts' for holding those views and having/ following 'bot' friends, and the number of Gabbard supporting 'bots' increases too. It's a circularised self supporting argument that collapses if you remove the one strut it rests on. Since that 'analysis' suits the media and the D establishment and self proclaimed analysts can be used to say pretty much whatever is wanted in any given situation- and because few analysts will disclose their actual methods- no one looks deeper. She certainly gets exposure from RT and the like because they like her stance on Syria, but the number of americans willing to be influenced by russian state media is unlikely to be high. And frankly, she does well in trends and the like after debates in part because she stands out, hasn't had the exposure and is pretty (the other thing that analysts say, though for obvious reasons they do so from behind their hands most of the time). Bernie would probably be the Russians actual choice from the D field since Gabbard is realistically a VP pick (not likely) or cabinet rather than nominee.1 point

I created a new guy just to see how quick I could get to 70 with the XP armor set and the free bonus XP tokens they keep doling out like candy. Nar Shaddaa, maybe half way through.1 point

Priests and clerics have historically always been my favourite class in RPGs but I have felt them tremendously lacking in Deadfire. As such I have attempted to transform myself from incompetent non-modder into still highly incompetent modder to effect changes I thought would be appropriate to make priests fun, effective and worth playing. The intention behind this mod is relatively simple: to differentiate the various priest subclasses such that each subclass plays differently from the other. Whilst there will always be overlap between them (they are all priests after all) a priest of Berath should feel and play differently from a priest of Magran or a priest of Eothas or any of the other subclasses. To this end each subclass (including Gaun and Rymrgand) has been reworked to give them all several unique features. These include new spells (of course lifted from other classes but never repeating priest spells that already are present) typically up to PL 7 with a few exceptions, a passive that includes both bonuses and penalties unique to the priest subclass in question and a complete re-work of holy radiance. All priest subclasses now have their own special holy ability that scales with deity reputation as would the standard holy radiance and is reflective of the ethos of that particular deity. The only exception here is Eothas since I believed the original ability fit the god well in terms of his alignment and outlook. Finally the horrible spell Incarnate has been improved and now lasts thrice as long and instead of decreasing your Power Levels by -5 it now increases them by +2 as long as the Incarnate is present, or in other words, if your deity’s avatar is down on Eora it better well do something, especially for you. As far as balancing is concerned I have attempted to maintain reasonable balance but in making this mod I thought that interesting should take precedence over perfect balance. Overall, priests are somewhat stronger than they are in vanilla POE2 if only because of new abilities but more importantly they should be a fair bit more interesting now as well. Two mods I would strongly recommend to go with this mod would be Checoden’s Deadfire Tweaks, specifically his Vanilla Priest Rebalance and Priest of Rymrgand DLC and Other Hidden Classes. In the first instance Vanilla Priest Rebalance synergises well with this mod, improving priest’s performance without any drastic changes and in the second instance both the priest of Gaun and Rymrgand have been reworked and if you wish to play them as a protagonist, as opposed to just having Xoti and Vatnir respectively then this mod is a must. Below you will find the list of the altered priest subclasses and the changes implemented to them. https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/287 Do leave your feedback.1 point

I do plan on finishing the mod but I have a lot of stuff going on irl so it might take quite some time. The game is not running away so you will have to be patient.1 point

Now, I know they're running a lengthy "double xp" thing before the big September expansion.. But jeez, my new Jedi Knight just hit level 50 before finishing Act 1....1 point

I like getting discipline back when hit roll is downed by a tier. Fighter already have discipline restore ability, but its fits better a barbarian (instead of blood surge). Getting crit is rather infuriating, and barbarian can also use retaliation when critted. But it may cause every single class build must have this two skills. Maybe reverse reverse mentioned fighter mechanic as rage is kind of opposite for discipline? Get resource when enemy hit roll is upgrade by tier. Unfortunately it doesn't happens often and it's totally independent of character build, you can't increase chance by no means. Paladin have two skills that restore zeal, one on kill, and one when ally gets down. Divine retribution is abusable with summons and too costly when you exchange teammate for 2 zeal, and then, if you wants to revive him, you must pay 3 zeal.1 point

In Poe Sloth was much more timid. He wasn't relaxed by any means, by he was slow to speak his mind. In Deadfire he is far more outspoken, reflecting his growth in confidence. Relationship mechanics do make characters behave weirdly (Xoti laughing and clapping as you burn Dawnstar bodies)1 point

Perhaps it's because we're in California, but that hasn't been the case for us at all. Hubby bought seedlings at the hardware store and just tossed them in the ground and hasn't touched them outside of watering. They're not very large plants but they produce a lot of peppers/seem hardy. Tomatoes were troublesome tho. For some reason at this house they kept getting that stem-rot disease, where the top of the tomato starts to rot late in the game (brown circle where the stem connects). Hubby started them from seeds this time (vs. buying storebought seedlings), just tossing seeds in the ground, among other minor changes, and no stem-rot or other major issues, but still seem not quite right to me.1 point

Played some ten hours of Mutant Chronicles with the mates, and it was guuud. Before that I spent the day measuring my Volvo 240 for a heart transplant. Going from a 110hp B230 (8 valve Inline 4-cyl, naturally aspirated) to a 300hp b6284T (3.0L 24 Valve engine with Turbo). Honestly, I'm already a little bit scared, the car weighs 1300kgs and with a 300hp engine the car is going to go... very fast.1 point

you do realize your approval is akin to wod linking supporting articles from joshua goldberg, or sharp one linking alex jones stuff, yes? skarp blunt capacity to be wrong on any issue from law to bumblebee aerodynamics is gonna undercut gifted position, and he sure don't need that kinda help. as to current issue o' trump chances o' winning, am admitted uncertain. while we don't necessarily agree with gd list o' candidates and their chances o' success 'gainst trump, am admitted concerned 'bout democrats, 'cause while democrats talk a good game, they so rare show up in november when it counts. am knowing trump is as unpopular as ever, which has been a near constant since short after the election. am recognizing how poorly trump is polling 'gainst the field. https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/457645-fox-news-poll-shows-trump-losing-to-biden-warren-sanders-and-harris am admitted baffled by how trump is actual polling below his approval rate, which is kinda counter-intuitive for an incumbent President. 'course nothing much has made sense 'bout trump polling since he became nominee. folks talk 'bout the economy as if is a positive for trump, but is core trump voters who has actual seen their situation become worse these last few years. if democrats become enthusiastic 'bout a candidate, they win whether is moderate or far-left, but go ahead and try and predict such a thing today is gonna be mostly the result o' weak-arsed conjecture. have mentioned this before, but obama did not look like anything other than an also-ran until after iowa. is better for democrats if a candidate, moderate or far-left, energizes the historical torpid and indolent democrats. is tougher for a moderate to create groundswell support given the endemic disappointment many/most voters have with washington status quo. nevertheless, am not discounting the possibility o' a moderate finding an issue or signature proposal 'tween now and february 2020 iowa caucus to elevate their game, so-to-speak. is far too early to predict. yeah, only way trump gets reelected is gross incompetence by democrats, but such were the case in 2016. one thing democrats got going for 'em this time (other than trump incompetence in office, which should make the election moot but don't) is the fact clinton ain't the candidate. weren't simple fact clinton were so overwhelming unpopular 'mongst almost all non-democrats and even a few democrats which made her a bad candidate. the cronyism which marred the democrat candidacy is not an issue this time 'round. far too many demo bosses owed the clintons decades worth o' favors such that her candidacy in 2016 were foregone unless jesus christ returned to run... though am suspecting even jc would have a hard time with both party voters in the south and parts o' the heartland given fact he is not european white. last time around, many democrats justifiably believed clinton were forced onto them. made far too many fainéant democrats actual bitter rather than ordinary indifferent. ain't a candidate like that in the current field. HA! Good Fun!1 point

That sucks, TN For some reason my mother-in-law decided that the best place for all our grilling utensils was in the oven and that it was for the best to not tell us. Yeah, the whole house smells like burnt rubber now. My wife is livid and this isn't even the first brain scratcher that she's done in her 3 months here.1 point

Got around to finishing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6. All in all maybe the weakest season since the first, but still pretty entertaining all in all, but it sure was weird... even for a show set in the MCU (or not, any more, what with Endgame and all).1 point

Ya I know that’s why I prefer them. Enough defense on a Paladin no need to take an ACC hit, if you want to use weapon and shield style.1 point

It probably cost you some Guile to use whatever ability made you invisible in the first place, so whatever resource recovery would have to overcome that cost as well as be worth more than the opportunity cost of the autoattacks you would have otherwise been getting instead of faffing about “being guileful”. Any mechanic that requires you to take your eye off the ball and do something other than focus firing down each kill target in turn, is a mechanic that somehow has to be better than JUST DOING THAT, by enough margin to make it worth the hassle. A not entirely terrible idea might be a passive that recovered 1 Guile per X damage inflicted by weapon attacks that received the benefit of Sneak Attack, along the lines of Shattered Pillar. A similar ability for Ranger would be 1 Bond per X damage from weapon attacks against a target your AC is engaged with.1 point

Can't say I care either so long as it's consistent. I imagined them being a bit more 'Meditteranean' than the castings but so long as Rand looks noticeably different from the rest of the Two Rivers folks- which the guy does- I don't see any reason for complaint. I have to admit than I am kind of hoping Billy Zane gets to be Ishamael again, he was certainly good for a giggle in the pilot.1 point

Eh, honestly, we're talking about a comic adapation that has assassins killing targets because of errors in the fabric of the Loom of Fate(tm) who can curve bullets. With that as frame of reference Acid Burn picking up Professor X like that makes perfect sense.1 point

I'm not sure about Endgame being garbage. I watched it at home recently, and it was an enjoyable bit of action. I mean, they were tying up a bunch of loose threads from multiple franchises that are all connected, so I think it deserves a fair bit of credit for not being a train wreck.1 point

She's had no such experience so far, but the first trimester was essentially all-vomit-all-the-time and she's not allowed to play stressful competitive games anymore because the baby will kick her until she stops. #GamerWife0 points
